I love to make scrapbooks, use rubber stamps, make cards, and other paper crafts. I also do bead work, make paper, and make potpourri. I used to do cross stitch and needlepoint but my wrists and my eyes hurt now when I try. I like fantasy themes; wizards, dragons, castles, fairies, vampires, pirates, witches, etc. My favorite colors are green and purple. I am in a beginning quilting class. I'm currently scrapbooking books about my sons and running a scrapbook class for my work (with adults who have developmental disabilties.) I use stickers, paper, Zig markers, and all kinds of embellishments. I like to make cards, too. I have an herb garden and dry herbs for food and to make potpourri. I love to cook. I wish I could knit. Maybe someday! I started making ATCs since I got involved with Swap-bot, and have offered a class at work to make them. I have also volunteered to teach 6th graders at one of my son's schools to make ATCs.
I am a single mother of three boys, ages 10, 11, and 17. I work in human services, with adults who have developmental disabilities. One of the reasons I am exploring Swap-Bot is that some of the people I work with LOVE to get mail, and I think would be excited about swapping. I grew up here in Central PA. and have lived a few other places briefly, but like the mountains and forests here and also like being close to extended family. I like to go to Renaissance Faires, science fiction conventions, etc. I have been into science fiction since I was a kid. I remember my first convention, in 1977-- Star Wars had just come out, but I was one of the few females at the convention, despite the popularity of Han and Luke! My kids like sports (baseball, football, basketball), stamp collecting, video games, Spiderman, and collecting little toy soldiers and setting them up in battle. My middle son is in Boy Scouts and plays the sax.
I have one kitty and am currently fostering two others from the local shelter. Shelters are really having a hard time of it lately-- people can't afford their pets-- I found out that our shelter is getting 30-40 calls a day from people trying to find a home for their pet, and the shelter is full. Shelters in surrounding counties are euthanizing.... So I am freeing up two cages for other cats. I may end up keeping these guys, they are so sweet.
I love to read-- science fiction, fantasy, history (and historical fiction), some mysteries..... I also like Russian literature.
I don't watch TV much. I've recently discovered The Walking Dead and love it! I also like 60 Minutes, Monk, The Big Bang Theory, and Ghost Whisperer. My kids usually control the TV, which means we are watching sports, Nickelodeon, or the Cartoon Network.
I love-- cats, kids, books, craft supplies, photography, stationary and cards, fantasy themed stuff, green and purple and some blues that lean towards green or purple..... '60's and '70's nostalgic stuff. I also like pigs and elephants. I like tea and chocolate. I love embroidery floss, and particularly want some of the DMC silk floss and some varigated floss. However, I love all floss and can't have too much of it! I also like interesting scraps of paper and odds and ends for card making, ATCs, etc. I really like Graphics 45 paper. ANY craft supplies you no longer want I can use at work. So feel free to send them my way!
Styles I like include fantasy, steampunk, shabby chic, french country, bohemian, Asian, and vintage.
I collect Red Rose Tea figurines and other small items that I put in shadow boxes.
I can't think of much I dislike. Football. Some contemporary music. I have about 1,000 pages of flowered paper, and don't really need any more of that. (I tend to be able to use any craft supplies, because I serve about 60 people at work, and usually know someone who would like that particular item.)
PLEASE REMIND ME IF I FORGET TO RATE YOU!
I like older stuff-- Pink Floyd, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Carole King--- Okay, the Dead Kennedys, too. And Bob Marley. The Beatles. Heart. Moody Blues. The Eagles.

I'm glad to see you liked the little notebook I made for you and that you liked the idea I gave you for it's use. :-D Good luck with it. For me, it was a challenge at first, but it became fun and helped bringing my spirits up a bit. Focusing on the positive kept me off the negative.

I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you. You stay strong too! Whenever I feel like I can't take much more I just repeat this over and over "The woman is weak, the Mother is strong" ~Korean Proverb
