I'm Colorado born and raised, an expert daydreamer, and I hustle like crazy.
Random things that make me happy: typewriters, shades of green, gems/crystals/geology, Bill Murray, outer space/galaxies/stars, 3D images, vintage postage stamps, otters, the Royal Family, polka dots, Polaroids and Instax, cacti (cactuses?), holographic images, Gudetama, sparkly things, airmail, strange/unusual rubber stamps.
I never thought neon would make a comeback after the 1980s, but I'm glad it did. Especially neon red. :)
The best days for me are Good Mail Days. I write thick letters and stuff them into colorful envelopes. I've been a member of the Letter Writer's Alliance for years. Let me know if you're looking for a new pen pal. :)
I don't get bored. I was an only child and developed the ability to entertain myself. In those rare moments when I'm not at the office, I can be happy doing nothing.
I love cooking and read cookbooks like they are novels.
It's hard to offend me in swaps--I'm fine with crazy, weird images and curse words...I'm fine with Kawaii and baby chihuahuas. One thing that does "offend" me a bit: terrible spelling and grammar in swap descriptions. I tend to pass on swaps that are a grammatical mess.
Dream pop, 1980s, 1990s R&B, British soul, low rider oldies, mariachi, old school hip hop, Motown, all those classic songs you'd sing out loud on a road trip, and any music that sounds a little spacey.
Recently we bought a little record player and have had fun collecting all kinds of random vinyl albums.
I'm also into podcasts and talk radio, especially when I'm driving around town on errands or taking longer road trips.
Edward Scissorhands, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Lost in Translation, Drive, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, West Side Story, The Other Guys.
I miss "nice" comedies like You've Got Mail.
I watch a ton of documentaries. I dunno how that fact would ever play into a swap. Maybe it says something about my personality? Maybe suggest one for me check out?
My favorite TV shows are mindless and easy. They help me to de-stress..my day job is on the stressful side.
I love that primetime game shows are back!
Some shows I'm hooked on: Master of None, Terrace House, Ink Master, Project Runway, Live PD, Married at First Sight, Shark Tank, Top Chef, anything with Anthony Bourdain roaming around and eating things.
I know I'm 20 years late, but I just started watching Friends from the beginning.
I don't watch Food Network much anymore: too much Guy Fieri.
Religious and "Country Kitchen" themes, kiddie/reward/Dollar Tree stickers, and powdered drink mixes are not my thing. I'd be bummed to receive something that's used, dirty, completely thoughtless, covered in pet hair, heavy with the smell of cigarettes..
My worst habit might be obsessively buying supplies and then never really delving into a project beyond that initial try. I'm terrible about using my stash...I'm sure it's because I have zero craft supply organizational skills.
I tried making ATCs. I failed. But I do like making zines, and I hope they'll become trendy again.
Recently, I've started documenting and journaling in traveler's notebooks. No-rules creative journaling suits me. Big photos, ephemera, lots of washi, metallic pens..
