A note on my id - the first character is an L, not an upper case i as some have suspected.

I'm an avid crafter and mom of 3 young boys - 6 year-old twins and a 4 year-old. I work full-time as a software developer. Between kids and work, I have to make crafting fit where i can. My partner and I are 'outdoorsy' and, thankfully, the boys all are too.

I love all kinds of crafts, but am most drawn to fabric and paper crafts. I've been a crafter since I was a kid (from a family of crafters). Right now, I'm into combining embroidery and quilting. I'm getting back into stamping/card making some due to a new addiction to ATC's (thanks to Swap-bot!). One of my boys loves art and prefers mosaics, painting, and sculptures (he's 6). I'm hoping to get him interested in ATCs.

For most crafts, I'm not into designer names. I'm the same way with clothing. Being trendy isn't important to me. I tend to shop thrift stores and garage sales.

Television: Right now, if the tv is on, it's for the kids. In my downtime, the tv is off and I'm usually doing some type of craft. Pre-kids, I liked shows like Emergency Vets, Friends, The First 48, and CSI. I should admit to currently liking Backyardigans and Blues Clues (Steve rocks!). Added: Downton Abbey! We had the tv on PBS while discussing what movie to watch and ended up hooked!

Music: I listen to mostly Christian Rock. Music used to be the center of my life and my tastes used to be much more varied, but now (with kids), I only seem to listen to it in the car during my commute to/from work.

Books: I like to read all different kinds of books - kids through adults - though definitely prefer a physical book to an electronic download.

I'm pretty eclectic... I love all colors from brights to pastels, to muted colors. I love textures in fabrics, papers, yarns, and collect odd yarns and ribbons to incorporate into sewing, card-making and general crafting. I'm a fan of animals, particularly drawn to cats, moose, herons, hawks, and otters. I also adore dragonflies and butterflies, and collect feathers, rocks (agates/fossils) and buttons (the clothing type). I drive my partner crazy by collecting 'trash' to craft with my kids - plastic containers, magazines, mail; and we re-use craft items once we're done with our old creations.

Dislikes? I'm not really into anything with negative messages and have to avoid strong smells/perfumes and caffiene as they're migraine triggers. This really hampers my Dr Pepper addiction!

Fabric, interesting yarns/ribbons, shell or unusual buttons, ATC's, inchies, craft ideas for kids, punches from your paper punches, and pattern ideas for small gifts.
