I am a happy person that is married to a wonderful man. All our children are grown, married, and have their own children. Yeah! we have the whole house to ourselves which has been great since we both had children when we first met. Then, we put them together and had 2 more.
We have indoor and outdoor pets that we take care of. We have more wildlife than we ever had since they are developing around us leaving all the animals without a place to live. We buy all kinds of food and feed to put in the feeders that we have made for all the outdoor animals to eat.
We'd like to travel but can't go far since we have pets that need to be fed, watered, and loved. We trusted one person before that let our house get broken into to so we don't do that anymore.
I enjoy cooking which has been a big challenge from cooking for 2 since I always cooked for 10 which includes my parents since they lived with us. I do not like to bake plus I do not need all that junk food anyway. My husband is a diabetic so I am always changing up recipes that I find that are tasty.
My husband has been watching Cricut on the info channels. And he saw a good deal on HSN for a Cricut personal. It's just right for me to learn how to cut out fonts, alphas, etc. I didn't think I would like it and I kept saying no, no, no.... Ok, so I was wrong. I have a cuttlebug, my first toy, that I use over and over again. It took me awhile to upgrade from the embossing folders to the die cuts. Now, I can't do without die cuts. They sure do look much nicer than me trimming all kinds of images by hand even though I still do lots of cutouts and punches by hand. I am always saving paper from envelopes, etc. to make irisfolding greeting cards.
I like to keep a journal of all swaps and take photos of what I mail out if I don't forgot. I try to read Swap-Bot every day just in case I need to answer anyone's questions. I like to rate my partners just as soon I as receive my swap so I do not forget. I hope everyone will mail the swaps owed to me but it seems there are a few that are not sending or answering my emails. This is very sad since I always complete and mail out my swaps promptly. I do hope my partners will contact me with any questions or concerns about a swap we are in together. I do not mind at all. I would appreciate the partners that have swaps to mail to me to please check the amount of postage and the security of the envelope that is mailed to me. I keep getting notes from the post office that I have to pay postage in order to receive my swaps. I feel this is very unfair to me. Thank you so much!!
I won't be online everyday since I am learning how to walk again. That is keeping me very busy!! I drove to the post office one time which wore me out. I have not driven again. Hopefully, I will be able to drive in another month.
I received a book that teaches you how to print letters by hand. Sometimes it's hard for me to print the letters or words that I need for a project. I only have a few rubber stamps with sentiments on them. I like the acrylic stamps so much better than the rubber stamps.
I used to read all the time until I bought my first computer. This was a whole new world for me. Now I listen to books on cd's and on tapes so I do not get behind on my favorite authors that seem to be writing more and more books as the years pass by. Stuart Woods with Stone Barrington have been such great books that I have listened to all of them except the newest book. Now, I am listening to John Grisham which are great except for "Bleachers". Football is not my sport!! My newest author is Janet Evanovich and J. A. Jance.
I just finished listening to all the Danielle Steel books. There were a few that I just couldn't finish.
I haven't picked out a new author at this time to listen to. I need to visit the library sometime this week to get a new selection of books to listen to.
I enjoy the black and white movies the best. I can watch them over and over again.
My favorite actor is Jimmy Stewart and my favorite actress is Bette Davis.
When, I do get a chance to watch television I watch Monk, House, The Closer, Medium, and NCIS. I watch more television while I am on the computer than I do in front of the television in the other room.
I have been making scrapbooks for our children and grandchildren for the past 6 months. I have so many more photos and things to go through to add more pages to their existing scrapbooks. It has taken many hours to upload old photos to repair so I can order extras online to put in scrapbooks for other family members. I just do not have enough time in a day to complete thousands of photos.
I have been making greeting cards about a year now. I have mailed many postcards to the soldiers, nursing homes, and friends. I still have many more to make for swaps that I regularly participate in.
Now, I am addicted to ATC's much more than I ever thought I would be. I have been swapping ATC's regular size and 4x4 for art books. I have received many beautiful ATC's. The ideas that other have is fantastic. I now have an album that I am putting them all in to view.
I am doing jams which are tons of fun. I get a big kick out of seeing the end result from 2 other people and myself.
I am learning how to make inchies, twichies, matchboxes, purses, and mini albums since I have joined Swap-Bot. It has given me challenges to improve my creativity.
My husband never throws anything away since he's afraid it might be something I can use to make ATC's or greeting cards for someone else.
I am learning to make mini albums, matchboxes, and pop up cards. These are going to keep me busy for awhile since they take so much time to make.
My husband purchased new colors for me in acrylic paints today so I can practice painting more ATC's. He said he liked the 2 I made for a swap and the 4 I kept for myseld. I am not ready to graduate to a larger size pallet at this time.
I am still having fun making ATC's and greeting cards.
My favorite colors are yellow, purple, pink, teal, and maroon. Black and white with red are nice on ATC's and Greeting Cards. I am not to choosy about colors since everyone uses them in different ways.
I tend to wear more black than any other color since it makes me look slimmer.
I am so disappointed that Hanane has not replied to any of my emails. She still owes me Who Loves Zentangles ATC. She is also the coordinator of this swap.
I do not like cards or ATC's with glitter, nudity, men, zetti, gory, bloody, clowns, owls, horses, dogs, kawaii, stickers, burn music cd's, or cartoon animals. The glitter seems to get on my hands and then in my contacts. I have ruined many pairs of contacts with glitter. It sure is beautiful but I have found other mediums to use in place of glitter and still get the glitter effect. I do not like to receive tea, candy, or any type of food. I do not care for religious items, junk/spam mail, friendship books, old, smelly paper, or chain letters.
I enjoy hand made crafts since others have such a wild imagination and put lots of thought into what they make.
I just received a beautiful Dotee Doll as a gift. I had never seen or heard of these dolls before. I have named her Brittney and she resides in the living room curio cabinet. I saw a square Dotee online and thought it was gorgeous. I think I would like to learn how to make a Dotee Doll since I have piles of fabric. The faces will be my downfall since I am not that good at drawing.
I like buttons, bows, colored and patterned paperclips, beads, lace, ribbon, brads, die cuts, eyelets, colored safety pins, large safety pins, colored and patterned binder clips, gel pens, painting, hand drawn, watercolors, zentangles, jewels, die cuts, patterned paper and cardstock, and thread.
I have some gel pens and bic markers to try out on a few stamped images to make ATC's and greeting cards. I also like to use pastels and color pencils. I just need to find my sharpner to trim my color pencils so I can use them again.
Many, many thanks to Dawn for sending me a red pencil sharpner so I can use my color pencils again. Yeah!! I am off to color some images to make some more ATC's.
I like to write letters on journal type stationery since it's easy for me to carry around in my stationery bag that I always keep handy. I have a few letters I try to write every day to my pen pals. I like to keep the cancelled postage stamps that I save in an album along with saving a few for craft projects. Plus, I keep extras just in case anyone likes to receive them for craft projects. I also save the inside of envelopes for irisfolding projects. I use my punches for the inside envelopes to make corner bookmarkers. I like to be prepared to share my goodies with others. At this time I am looking for cancelled international postage stamps for my collection and craft projects that I am working on.
I like to spend a day just cutting out punches, die cuts, greeting card blanks, atc blanks, embossed paper, and images to have ready for the days I am inspired to make the ATC's and greeting cards. I like to make all my ATC as soon as I sign up for a swap.
Embellishments seems to be a must for me. I try not to go overboard when using the embellishments. I have a few new goodies that I am using now. One is the distress crackle and the other is stickles. They are pretty neat to use!
