Hmmm...what to say?

My name's Amy, and I'm a sophomore in College, and planning to major in International Studies and double minor in Political Science and Psychology. I go to a small, all women's university, and I LOVE it here! I'm the RA(Resident Assistant - sort of like a house mom) for Otaku hall, one of the specialty houses on campus. It was started as a hall for fans of anime, but has since morphed into an all-encompassing entertainment hall.

In my non-existant free time, I like to read, listen to music, and play World of Warcraft.

I was introduced to swap-bot by one of my friends, and now I think I'm addicted.

I listen to EVERYTHING! Seriously. I have just under 7,000 songs on my iPod, and I get more all the time. I listen to everything from Jpop to Disney, from heavy metal to instrumental celtic music, from Billy Joel and the Beatles to Blink 182 and Hoobastank.

I'm not really fond of Rap music in general, but there are some songs that are okay. I'm also somewhat dubious about Ska music, but I'll listen to it.

Where do I begin? Anything written by Tamora Pierce. All of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' books. Hyperion. Ender's Game. Stephen Donaldson's The Man Who...series. The Sweep series. The Pillars of the Earth. The Eight. The Prince...my list could go on for days.

I am also a fan of manga, mostly shoujo.

Got a suggestion for me? I'd love to hear it. I'm always willing to try something new.

I'm not a big movie fan, but here goes: I like anything by Hayao Miyazaki; Juno; I'm strangely attached to disney movies from my childhood.

I abhor horror movies, I can't stand them, and have no interest in sitting through them. More than the fact that they scare me is the fact that I can't get past how stupid the characters in these movies are. For example: you're sitting in a car in front of a creepy looking house. Your boyfriend went in 20 minutes ago, and told you he would be back in 10 minutes. You hear screams coming from the house, and instead of driving away, you go into the house to investigate. WHY would you go into the house? Do you WANT to die? UGH!

I don't watch television. At all. I haven't since I was in elementary school. Don't try to talk to me about anything that came on television more recently than about 10 years ago, because chances are I'll have no idea what you're talking about.

I've been crocheting since I was about 7. I recently taught myself to knit, but I haven't done a whole lot of it, and I'm not very good. I sew, but only enough to get by. I draw, I'm an incessant doodler. My favorite medium for drawing is chalk pastels. My least favorite medium is charcoal. I hate how when you're trying to blend, it just ends up coming off the paper instead. I do a tiny bit of scrapbooking, and I've made a couple collages in my day. I'm a decent photographer.

I'm a big fan of split-complements. Purple and Orange are my favorite colors, both separately and together. I love all colors, and I love rainbows too.

Bright colors are great, but I like my darks too.
