About Me

I am 39 year old female living outside of Washington DC. My favorite colors are Purple and Green.

I drink a ton of Tea - it is my favorite drink (I pretty much love everything except Chai and green tea)! I like loose and teabags.

I am married, but have no children. Unless you count my 2 beagles Clyde and Jake. I belong to a beagle rescue group.

My favorite hobbies are quilting and knitting. I also love to read. I do collect book marks of any kind, yarn, fabric and Broadway musicals.

I love candles - I burn them at work and at home! I have now gotten into wax tarts as I got a burner recently.

Other than Beagles, my favorite animal is the zebra!

I am diabetic, so NO CANDY PLEASE - unless it is sugar free!

I also like santa claus stuff, loose tea, hand cream, yarn, fabric, sewing related items, notecards, music, hand-made stuff (because I appreciate how much work it takes to make things!).

As for books I like chick lit, mysteries, Historical, biographies and current Literature.

Favorite Music

I really like to listen to a lot of different groups, such as Il divo, Indigo Girls, Vivaldi, Carrie Underwood, Broadway musical cd's, Elton John. I used to play the Piano and the french horn. I also like to sing.

Favorite Movies

I really love musicals, like the sound of music, fiddler on the roof, meet me in St. Louis and Rent. I collect them. I also really like comedies like Tommy boy, Hitch, the wedding crashers. I also like a good tear jerker like Steel Magnolia and Terms of endearment or a lifetime movie.

Favorite Television

24, dancing with the stars, General Hospital, Little house on the prarie, law and order (all of them), House, ER, Cold case, the Unit, and American Idol.

Favorite Crafts

I am a quilter and I love hand applique. I just finished my second Baltimore Album quilt (I am hand quilting it now). I have a Pfaff sewing machine and have started doing more machine work. I meet with 3 different mini groups.

I love to knit too. I really love making socks. My sister and I have started our first sweater. I am almost finished the back. I also do cross stitch from time to time.

Comment: OMIGOSH! I was cooing with delight as I opened your package! First of all, I loved the letter you sent and the memories you shared. And how you tied it in to the kitchen surprise you sent me, *and* I have been wanting napkin rings, and the ones you sent are perfectly my style! And finally- the rapunzel scarf took my breath away- it it sooo lovely, absolutely the perfect colors, and I've never seen one before. I was wearing it today even though it was 60* and my daughter was teasing me. Happily it will be in the 20's this weekend, and I will definitely be showing it off!:) your stellar swap certainly made me feel very thankful- blessings!:)
Response: I am so glad you liked it. I got the napkin rings at the World market in case you need more. That was my first attempt at the scarf and I was really happy with it! Happy Thanksgiving!

Comment: Bootsy loves her package. Thank you so much. I kept trying to take pictures, but she kept taking her toys. She and I had to talk about not taking toys outside, so she went out and stared in the house at Mr. Monkey. Then she took a nap with him and went I came in my sewing room -- Mr. Monkey and Mr. Elephant were in there! Bootsy and Clyde appear to have a lot in common -- especially stuffing on the floor and standing on tables (we had to talk about that again today). Thank you so much. She's already gone through one of the meaty bones -- in record time!!
Response: We are glad to hear that Bootsy loved the package! I think Clyde and Bootsy are a lot alike also!

I am blown away at the lovely dishcloths...can't wait to use them, although the blue one looks like a facecloth and that is how I will use it! All of those wonderful teas in really cool packaging! Even a strainer and tea bags I can fill. And a spoon rest! This will keep me happy for a long time. I am humbled by your generosity. Thanks so very much and you really get 15 stars on a scale of 1 to 10!

I love my sock yarn! I'm so excited to get started making socks! I actually picked up and put down the same exact yarn and color at my LYS sale. It's fate!

It's a pattern .... located here ....http://mccallsquilting.com/qb/pattern11013/

I messed it up a little bit because I had to make it smaller. But somewhere the math didn't quite work out :) But it's still really pretty.

I'd love to see what you made with this xmas fabric before you sent me the leftovers too :)

diynamite on Nov 30, 2007:

I think you might be interested in seeing what I'm using the fabric you sent me for :)
