My name is Amy. In my 9-5 life, I work for an dessert company in Business Developement. However, within the next few years, I plan on starting my own business.
So, let me tell you some things about me, huh?
I am learning Spanish and German!
I am fascianted by India and the ancient culture there.
My favorite color is green. I also like purple, orange, modern & bright fabrics, the combination of white, black and red and the combination of yellow and gray.
I collect and recycle aluminum.
I am extremely interested in recipes that exclude allergens (ie. something like gluten free) or those that are directed towards specific diets (ie. diabetes, PKU, etc.)
I love to penpal. I have been doing it since I was in elementary school.
Besides Colorado, I have lived in Virginia, California and France (Paris, to be exact).
I have a degree in Nutrition, as well as two others.
I am what people call a "flexatarian" which means I eat mostly vegetarian food, but sprinkle in meat occasionally.
I can't tie my shoes.
I pick up loose change from the ground (pennies only if they are heads up for good luck) and collect it in an old tea tin. I know it's silly. But I have a plan!
I am allergic to all flowers. Orchids and lavender are the worst.
I love to reuse and repurpose things. I want to learn to sew better so I can do more of this!
One of my biggest passions is supporting women and women's rights. I sponsor a woman in Bosnia and a little girl in Africa.
I volunteer with a refugee service that assigns "cultural mentors" to new families coming to the United States.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when people read over my shoulder.
Though I love crafting, I am often short on space to do it. My craft supplies take up about half of my closet. But I always have 20 projects going!
I like getting pedicures. I'm learning to like manicures, but I do so much with ym hands, they don't last as long.
I have one older brother.
I love to read the comics section of the newspaper. I am collecting comic strips related to food in some way to line the inside of a journal I use at work.
I love to get clothing and other products made from natural, sustainable fabrics and supplies. I also like "green" (recycled or eco-friendly) office supplies like pens, pencils, stationery, etc. Recently, I fell in love with sugar cane paper notebooks and banana paper.
I just started book crossing! I love the idea of connecting with a random stranger just because we read the same book.
My favorite crafts are cardmaking, sewing/quilting and crocheting. I would absolutely LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEE to have a little crocheted animal (I like tigers, but anything would be appreciated!)
If there if anything else you would like to know about me, please, don't hesitate to ask!
Any kind of crime/detective shows (Law and Order: SVU, Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, Psych, Monk, Lie to Me), Extreme Makeover Home Edition, What Not To Wear, Phineas and Ferb (those guys are awseome!)
If you need some more ideas, here's a small list of things I am looking for...
I love to write letters! I am always looking for a fun new friend to write to. Right now, I would love to find a pen pal that speaks Spanish (even if you are just learning too!) so I can practice my new language skills. But I am open to any super cool penpal! Write me a letter and let's see if we get along! :-)
Me encanta escribir cartas. Siempre estoy en busca de una nueva amiga a escribir. En este momento, me gustaría encontrar una amiga por correspondencia que habla español (incluso si usted está aprendiendo también!), así que pueden practicar mis conocimientos de idiomas nuevos.
