Isn't it odd to have to write about yourself? Rarely does someone ask you to turn inside and stare into your own eyes. I'm Sarah. I live in England, which gives me reason to be pretty pessimistic about a lot of things. I study German, French, History and Literature. Therefore if you speak German or French please write to me in your language, I'd be very grateful!
I love receiving any kind of mail which isn't a bill or a bank statement (just like every other human being). I'm a self-proclaimed history nerd, but what counts as history is up to your interpretation (and I find it quite interesting to discover what people consider history).
So as you can imagine, anything that's even a little bit old is something I will treasure and adore. I have a particular liking for German history (I study German too, which I'll get onto), and also Tudor history (The Tudors were just so amazing I can't even convey my love for them).
I study German, so (of course) I adore all things German. Anything with an insight into German culture or language sends me into spirals of joy.
I'm a reader. I could read all day every day. I will read almost anything, but if I have the choice I tend to go for Literature and classics. I adore Charles Dickens (the legend that he is), I love James Joyce, and I'll always have a place in my heart for Shakespeare. My favourite books include The Beach by Alex Garland, Dubliners by James Joyce, The Fatherland by Robert Harris, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, and the Robert Langdon trilogy by Dan Brown. I'd also say the Harry Potter series but that's a given.
I like to think of myself as a bit of a crafty critter too. I really enjoy cross stitching (I have Cath Kidston's 'Stitch', so if I'm mailing to you then it's possible you'll get something stitched). I'm constantly gathering lace and fabric and wool (yarn) to use on my projects. I also like to do papercutting with card - you can make some really beautiful pictures from it.
I think I'll finish this with some generic, trivial facts about me:
I hope I haven't missed anything!!!
I love to paper cut, cross stitch, paint and draw, but I'm willing to try anything.
I'll read just about anything, but I prefer historical or classic books. You can see my favourites in my About Me.
Well, as long as what you've sent me is good quality and fits the swap description, you'll get your five, because I just love to get mail.
But here are some hints if you can't think of anything. I love:
Please avoid sending me these kinds of things:
I always send my swaps in good time of the deadline. This shouldn't happen. However, if it's at least 10 days after the deadline (because I'm in England, so post might take a while), please mail me and I will send another set of whatever it was I owe you.
I haven't been logged into swap-bot for a while now, and I understand that there are a few swaps I've fallen behind on. The reason for this is that I have had tremendous problems at home recently, including my Mother going into hospital for a while. This meant I had to go between going to school and doing everything around the house so I've not had time to swap.
However! I AM going to send these swaps. I can only apologise for the delay, and I will not let this happen again. I am so so sorry for the inconvenience and/ or disappointment I have caused.

WHAT? Come say hi!!!
Hi! I just wanted to let you know, that swap Tea for Three #13 will be resent to you on Monday. I hope it will reach you soon!
Wow! What an amazing swap package! You weren't required to send me more than a simple typed letter, but instead you sent me a nice long letter, a stack of postcards and the book Pride and Prejudice. You went above and beyond anything I expected! Thanks so much!
We have a lot in common in general, I think! :) If we don't get each other as partners in your swap, we should swap our letters to each other anyway!
Weekly Music Video Swap #2
"Knights of Cydonia" - Muse
I've loved this song for years. The video is a bit longer than the average music video, but I really enjoy its campy cinematic style - so bad it's good :P
