I live in Iowa and see the Mississippi River on a daily basis, which I love to look at. I spent a lot of time on the river with my Dad when he was alive for fishing. In the winter months we have bald eagles around, so that is a real joy watching them and taking pictures. I have one daughter. We have three dogs which are a big part of the family. I love collecting old recipes, old cookbooks, especially old hand written recipes. I like vintage crochet patterns and old crochet books, some of the patterns on the internet cost money but I won't buy them. I have found a few on the internet that are free. In the summer we have a garden that I can goods from every year. I also make jelly's and have won a blue ribbon at the local fair for my blackberry jelly. I am a weather freak (as my daughter and sister would say). I can't wait until spring when the storms come, but my favorite time of the year is fall. Funny thing is I have been to the post office more since joining swap-bot than in the last 15 years, lol.
I listen to rock and roll music most of the time but I do like other types as well but NO rap. Bon Jovi is my man.
The books I read are hot vampire lover books, like black dagger brotherhood and stories along that line.
A good comedy is the movie for me. A movie has to catch my attention in the first minutes or I lose interest in it. Chick flick are also good. NO horror movies unless of course it's like the books I read.
I don't watch too much television. My boyfriend/husband (been together 20 years and not married) has the remote glued to his hand and I can't handle the channel surfing that he does. I do get to watch a bit of Paula Deen's shows, Survivor, weather channel, and a little bit of comedy.
Crafts, oh the crafts I do;
several kinds of stitching
crocheting
baking
cooking
canning
making jelly
sewing( I made all of my daughters Halloween costumes when she was little but one, she wanted a store bought one once,several dresses).
I'm pretty easy going with this one.
Some of my Likes are;
favorite colors, robin egg blue(of course, don't wear much of this color, just love the color) deep Egyptian colors(jewel tones), Native American colors(turquoise, earthy tones)
recipes (especially OLD ones)
most crafts, haven't gotten into knitting or
scrap booking
I love to drive long distances, especially at night
dogs
horses love them, wish we had a place
Do you see the hidden horses in the snow?
bald eagles
fishing
sea animals of all kinds
dragonflies
old buttons
I love canning food, especially jelly
going to auctions(my prize auction item is a
cast iron dutch oven pot we got for $10.00,
boy were people upset about that one, they
didn't listen to the auctioneer that "anything"
on the "whole" table was up for bid.)
address labels
note pads
swap cards
postcards
anything vintage
most animals
DISLIKES are;
flakers, I will not flake on a swap. If you don't receive something from me PLEASE let me know and I will resend the items. I have been flaked on and it is not fun. If I am going to be late, you will get a message from me explaining why. I try to send my stuff out early, but I have sent a couple out on the send buy date because I needed to base it on my partners profile.
hot summer days, give me super cold any day
celery, yuk(I have to say I will eat it cooked, IF I HAVE to but I don't like it)
people that act stupid
bad drivers
don't really care for cats, they just don't fit into
our family very well
snakes, yuk again
don't really care for pink, purple or hello kitty

My favorite swaps seem to be
1.) recipes
2.) postcards, doesn't matter where they are from or what is on the front. I found out I like them all.
3.) Amigurumi is something I learned just recently and I enjoy it.
4.) sticker swaps any kind of stickers but not teacher awards ones
5.) crocheting fridge magnets, that was a fun swap
6.) note pad swaps
7.) e-mail swaps are fun
8.) recipe journal swaps, but I don't know where my journals are. They are out in swap land somewhere.
9.) just about any swap I sign up for I like, or I wouldn't sign up for it.
10.) over sea swaps are very fun. It gives you the chance to see another part of the world and what they have there
My wish list is really simple;
price is not important, what you can afford is fine
Dollar store stuff is fine when called for
old recipes, handwritten or others
blank recipe cards (I run out of them all the time)
note cards
note pads, I am always writing things down a sticking it somewhere so I don't forget
anything to do with my likes
craft supplies, crocheting mostly
extra postcards, you don't want
anything do to with horses, eagles, ocean life
address labels
swap cards
