Hello! I'm Karen, and my husband of 30 years and I have 4 boys. My oldest is a Marine and his cute little wife and my 3 grandaughters (one is 6 and the twins are 3 yo) live near Camp LeJeune. We (they) are expecting another little girl this coming February. One son in college and National Guard, one son deciding about college (working and being Mr. Content)...and one just graduated HS (he knows everything).

I am a Christian and love my life (most of the time).

I quilt a lot...I sew a lot (even more now that I have granddaughters)...and I still have a lot of rubber stamps from my card-making years ago...am getting back into it too! I do a lot of home dec and small sewing items.

I am winning in the family brackets pool so far....for the FINAL FOUR! I won it last year too...and I know ..oh so very little about college basketball.

update...I won again...hahahahaha

2010....uh, not this year! But I guess we have to give others a chance on occasion! and the brackets are in place and this year the winner gets a 3-day vacay to the beach!

I'm a die-hard heavy metal fan...but I really like all music...from gospel, bluegrass, jazz to Elvis and Bob Dylan, Beatles, Alice Cooper, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Avett Brothers... Van Morrison is my fav. I have a hard time with country (depends on the song/singer).

Found an awesome metal/bluegrass band... The Tater Family Traveling Circus.

When I am crafting something...I watch COOKING shows, CSI, history channel and British comedy...EastEnders...Masterpiece Theatre, have fallen in love with Downton Abbey.

Love Monty Python...old Bette Davis, actually all old movies (The Women is divine), most Stephen King...and musicals too, Absolutely Fabulous, Graham Norton, love Alfred Hitchcock and horror /suspense....Rocky Horror Picture Show

Mere Christianity, The Stand, Secret Life of Bees, C.S. Lewis, The Giver, Shel Silverstein poetry and books....way too many and too diverse to list!

Love flea markets, thrift stores, clearance racks and yard sales!...and I have the 'junk' to prove it!

My kitchen is decorated with red plus whatever color I want for the season....well, there is red in every room of the house but my son's rooms. Love teals and blues and greens...purples, pinks, reds...don't hate any color!

My decorating style would probably be eclectic...I change things to make them what I want...not Victorian, not country, not modern...just a middle something...and always a 'work in progress'.

I LIKE sewing, crafting, cooking, aprons, dark chocolate, kitchen stuff, buttons,

glam girl stuff (I am NOT too old), coffee, tea, silver jewelry, hairbands, orange smells and spicey cinnamon smells,beads,

fabric (of course), vintage patterns, rick rack, fridge magnets, handmade soaps, thread,

cleaning tips, Snoopy, any Dr. Seuss, real photos of churches and chapels, Dorothy Parker,

Nestle Quik and Velveeta cheese, dark chocolate and super dark chocolate, choco coffee bean, lapis lazuli (stone), Tervis tumblers, Loralie designs fabric panels

I am trying to buy US made items unless not at all possible.

I DO NOT like cleaning house, scrapbooking,

cutesy stuff, or Disney

no flavored coffees or teas,

no kind of fruit or chewy candy,

no stickers
