I am a VERY prompt and reliable swapper! Please let me know if you have not recieved from me and I will make it right! I also ALWAYS rate, usually as soon as I get something. If somehow I have missed rating you...it is totally unintentional....send me a PM and I will rate you right away!
I live In Texas, work full time running the Pre-School my husband and I own. I am also illustrating a couple of children's books and hopefully they will be published in 2012.
I love quilting, applique, embroidery, drawing and books. I have traded fabric postcards and mini quilts for a while now.
I am a mother and a grandmother and always make new babies in the family a baby quilt.
We have an 80 lb Boxer named General Patton who thinks he should be a lap dog. We also have a 50 lb female Boxer and her name is Piper. They would like you to know that they do not shed on craft projects, however they do shed on their beloved humans and what they do with it after that is not their business.
Quilting is my favorite with hand applique at the top of the list. I love the planning, designing, picking out fabric and putting it together.
I love to make wall hangings, baby quilts, doll quilts and mini-quilts.
I also love hand embroidery....love mixing applique and embriodery. There are not enough embroidery patterns out there and pattern designers need to get a clue and get busy!
I detest sewing clothes and hate to even hem a pair of pants! (Unless they are doll or stuffed animal pants!)
I love reproduction fabrics: the 30's prints and Civil War repros. I sometimes work in wool and embroider on wool for some projects.
I am a huge book collector and we have a large library (larger than my sewing room even! :-) I collect signed editions. I love children's books, children's poetry and anything having to do with Beatrix Potter. My two favorite authors are Beverly Cleary (the Henry and Ramona series) and Carolyn Haywood (old Betsy books). If you have a hardback copy of any book by those two authors I would be happy to swap for them!
I belong to BookMooch which is an awesome book trading group...check them out at www.bookmooch.com.
Fabric! I love blue and white, blue and yellow, pink and green. The biggest piles in my stash are pink, green and blue, those are my favorites. I had to MAKE myself buy some orange for a quilt recently! Ha-Ha!
I can always use simple white or off white fabrics with a little tone one tone print and of good quality to use for embroidery projects. Oh and cream colored fabric...for some reason I love it. I love fabric with leaves, vines and swirls and I put leaves and swirling vines on many of my quilts. So many that my leaf templates are worn out! I love ric rac, all colors and all sizes.
I really don't need batiks or hand-dyed fabrics, I have a ton!
I'm always interested in cute buttons, lace or small crocheted pieces. And anything you can use to make dolls or doll patterns. (I'm not into the Dottee dolls either) I love and collect anything having to do with Peter Rabbit and the other Beatrix Potter characters.
I like stickers, cute ones (not Disney or cartoon characters though) and floral ones. Pretty envelopes or stationary, note cards. I like rubber stamps.
We always use cloth shopping bags and I love getting new interesting ones or those from other countries. I love handmade aprons!
I love gnomes, elves, mushrooms (the fake and stuffed type) fairies and other woodland creatures. I would love to get any of these handmade....or a cute pattern that you have. I am making a fairy/elf house and love tiny things made out of polymer clay which I cannot do at all. Like tiny food or other household items.
I also adore black rocks with white lines around them....go figure! But how easy is that...here is a swap partner that you could just send a rock to and she would be happy! :-)
P.S. I am not a coffee drinker and I dislike coffee flavored anything. :-p
I have a group Blog for quilters and other fiber artists and we are currently accepting new members. If you have thought about having a blog but didn't want the hassle of maintaining it or didn't think you would post enough to make it worthwhile....then consider joining our group blog. There is no cost or obligation and we aren't selling anything! Just fiber artists joined in cyber space for encouragement, ideas and fun! Check us out at:

I am also a personal historian and I help elders write their life stories and do genealogy research. If anyone needs help with genealogy or has a question about it...let me know!
