I love country music and that is generally what I listen to on the radio. We have a little country music dance club in our town and I like to take the kids down there to dance or attempt to line dance. I also like to listen to my cd's. I have a lot of 80's rock music and then a large variety of other things, classical, jazz, movie soundtracks, folk music.
I am 45 yo. I have been married to Ben for almost 13 years. We have 2 adorable kids. Audrianna is 9 and Jeff is 6-1/2 yo. They keep Ben and I on track and in focus. As a family we like to ride our bikes (If you've meet us on the bike trail we are actively working on Jeffs bike trail etiquette !), go for hikes where we search for "dinosaur bones", swim at area lakes and pools, and visit the parks and play grounds. When I can't be with my family, I go hang out with my fabulous co-workers at the Marion Hy-vee pharmacy. We spend our days (and some nights /weekends) trying to keep our customers healthy, wealthy and wise.
I love to read. I don't have a favorite. I like both fiction and non-fiction. I got a kindle for Christmas. My husband thought it would cut down on the stacks of books. :-) I do love the kindle, but I also love the feel of a book. Some books that I have read this year: The Hunger Games Trilogy, Awake: A Fairy Tale, Falling Uphill, and many others. I also read the 39 clue series even though my kids aren't old enough to enjoy them.
I have several favorite tv shows. I liked Alcatraz, Awake, Survivior (this season we are rooting for Denise Stapley - fellow Cedar Rapids resident), SOA, Supernatural, Criminal Minds, Flashpoint and Undercover Boss. I watch a lot of the shows either on my kindle or on dvd. My friends are amazed but we don't have cable or satalite tv. We find plenty of shows to watch on our local channels, including PBS and Ion.
I collect postcards. I started in 4 th grade when my granny went on vacation and sent me my first postcard. i love to write postcards, notecards and emails. what i love about postcards is that no matter how busy life gets; you always have time to read or write a postcard. I swap postcards at postcrossing.com and through LEX (The Letter Exchange) ads. I have always enjoyed doing and learning crafts. I want to teach myself how to knit and crochet. I love all the threads, beads and embellishments that go along with the crafts. I am looking forward to getting exposed to different types of creative crafts, to see what others are doing through the types of swaps listed and giving some a try myself.
I love all of the different flavors of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, drink mixes, etc. My husband and I are learning about different wines and I like to try new foods/recipes. Always love dessert especially if it is ice cream or chocolate.
I just want to comment that I am very thankful for finding this great website this past year. I have met some really great people on here through the swaps. I look forward to many future swaps!!
