Comment: Hello! I enjoyed reading about your beautiful cats. Is that Anne? If so she has my middle name. We have 3 cats, all Tabby, two orange and one dark ~ all rescued. Thanks for the cool pc. Take care ~ Judy Anne
Comment: Hi Sonya - I am so sorry hear that 6 months into this crazy year that life has been so hard on you! I hope things get easier sooner than later, and that the car situation works out! Please stay safe and wishing you all the best! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Hi! Thank you so much for the beautiful post card! I also appreciate the travel tips on your area. The museum looks beautiful & I love the programs offered for kids!
I keep all ideas & suggestions in a big 'future travel' list & this is wonderful addition! :)
Thanks again & have a great evening!
Comment: Hi Sonya! Love the pc and thanks for the share - Lotto Fever should become Lotto win! LOL! We all seem to have great thoughts and are willing to share, so... LOL! Wishing you all the best! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Hi Sonya! Thank you for the cute PC. I will send to my daughter! Also, I appreciated your note and your hard work as a Postal Worker! YOU are a good mother and doing what it takes to keep your family going! Don't doubt yourself! Keep up the Great work!!
Comment: I am sorry you are feeling depressed.... I think most of us are. I feel you! I appreciate your honesty. The PC is one I own already and had filled it out.for a friend in India who is obsessed with his shoes.
Comment: Thank you for the postcard. I too, had someone send me two of the cards from that series and I had no idea what to do with them either. I also sent them to people in this swap. I guess that was what they were meant for! LOL! Take care!
Comment: Really cute card... I seem to remember seeing those at one point... but I wasn't smart enough to pick it up! Hope everyone on your Christmas in July card list got one of these fun cards! Thanks!
Comment: This swap was fascinating for me!!! Thanks for all your info.
I will tell you about my experiences with Covid. Sinse I didn't send you a postcard I will answer a few of the questions right here in the comment section. I'm from Las Vegas Nevada and our state is currently in the red zone. Things here got really bad by mid April. Then we were able to get a handle on the number of cases until the casinos opened back up in June. Now we are getting out of control. The governor has mandated that everyone wear masks indoors and outdoors when not able to social distance. I had stocked up on a lot of toilet paper early in March and a few containers of Clorox wipes. We had no hand sanitizer. My husband went and got the supplies to build a garden the 1st day that school was canceled on March 18th. He is an Assistant Principal. The hardest thing that we missed out on was my 17 year old daughter and I had plane tickets to go to Mexico for 2 weeks and travel around the country. I foresee this crisis lasting a long while because people are still refusing to wear masks. It is terribly said that people can't do something that is so simple. I got Covid myself at the end of May. I tested positive while my whole family tested negative. It was hard at times and scary. I struggled to get air at times, could not smell or taste anything, my veins felt like they were on fire and I had that constant dry cough. It finally is about gone and I feel so much better!!!
Comment: Love the time travel postcard...how perfect!! think we could all use one of the machines about now!! Wow!! you got a few extra months to feel affected...we were by the end of March when the city shut down!!
Comment: Hello Sonya! Yeah! I joined in 2007 - I take breaks every now and then when life is hectic, but I SUPER ENJOY swapping. It's a good activity, especially in Winter. Scavenger hunts sounds awesome - is GISH still a thing? I should look into it. My mom and I recently got into geocaching! It's great!
Comment: Hi Sonya!
I received your ATC today and LOVE it! Also love the card and note you wrote inside. You are a GREAT artist! Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face. :o)
P.S. I am trying to leave you a heart as well, but for some reason, it will not let me click on it! I will keep trying...
Response: Thank you! I was having the same problem with hearts today also!
Comment: Hi! I used to be really into Supernatural! I watched it a lot with my ex, so after we broke up, I stopped watching it, but sometimes I miss it and want to watch it all the way through. My favorite character was Charlie, who's yours? Have a great day!! <3
Response: There are so many to choose from. I'm pretty find of Jodie Mills and Donna.
Comment: Thank you for the botanical garden postcard. I love visiting gardens when I get the chance. Portland actually has a rose garden that is about a two minute drive from me yet I haven’t been there yet. I guess I will add it to the list!
Comment: Thank you for the neat cheerleading postcard. I love the old cheerleading uniforms. Every once in a while I will watch cheerleading competitions or figure skating. Those are my two go-tos when I’m on YouTube lol. Have a great 4th of July weekend.
Comment: Thank you for your beautiful ATC of Wonder Woman! I am really impressed that you chose to draw her in such a difficult pose. I suck at anatomy myself, so this was great to receive. I especially liked her arm, for some reason. Very nice! (And yes, I'd definitely be up to trading more ATCs with you, did you have anything in particular in mind?) Thank you again.
Response: I used reference photos from SenshiStock on deviant art for body poses. It's an incredible resource. If you'd like to practice dynamic poses in ATCs we can try that. That way we can both get some practice.
Comment: I see what you mean about the oil pastels having a similar look to crayon, but they are a bit more "rich" in their coloring, at least it looks that way to me. :) I still like the design and choice in colors. Yay, sorting hat! :D Thank you very much for making and sending it. n.n
Comment: I LOVED this PC. I saw the movie last night and if you liked Alice, this blows it away. I wasn't crazy about either of them. I used to LOVE Tim Burton, but it seems like everything he's done lately has been bad. I was so mad over Miss Peregine's. Beauty and the Beast, was wonderful with the exception of Josh Gadd playing La Fou and I could've done without the two extra songs, everything else was spot on, especially the original songs, the costumes, the sets, etc. :)
Comment: Thanks for your envelope and especially the homemade card AND the wonderful cat drawing :) happy purim! :)
add: agh...I sholdnt give ratings when I am about to leave the house. SORRY purim morning was a bit hectic.
Response: Did the cat artwork in oil pastels not arrive? There wasn't a tear in the envelope was there?
Whew, okay I was worried that I might need to do a resend.
Comment: I really enjoyed your first mini-zine. I thought it was very informative. The only feedback I can think of is maybe if you could copy it in color it would be more vibrant. But I really liked the mix of printed material and handwriting. Thank you.
Comment: Amazing for a first! You should definitely do that more often! I am currently trying to break the rules though. I remember succesfully having posted a carrot ca. 25 years ago. Should try that again. ;)
Response: Oh, you can post any number of things! You just can't use a machine to sort them. Did you know there's a company that mails whole potatoes to people? :D I think it's called mail a spud.
Comment: Hey Sonya, for not knowing too much about my favorite fandoms, I think you did such an amazing job! I loved everything you sent, thank you so much. And congratulations on your documentary getting into the film festival, that is super exciting! Hope it does well, ill look into the links <3
Comment: Your scarf is very nice! I always envied people being good at sewing, knitting and these things. No problem with one watercolour ATC and a pen ATC - I know how it is ;) Once you've got some new tools you just simply cannot not use them! :)
Hope you enjoyed the swap and will join again :)
Comment: Fabulous work. Love the characters. Always wonder how you fit all that detail in an ATC. I appreciate your examples. I look forward to more watercolor, but congrats on the pens.
I am still experimenting with forms of shading. I like your textures.
Thanks for sharing! Very nice.
Comment: Thank you for so many AMAZING SPN items! Books and cards and figures! I love the notebook and the ATCs (yay Charlie!!!). And the Neko Atsume SPN cats is the BEST THING EVER! (I love that game) And a baby matchbox car and an awesome Cas t-shirt as well. I feel so spoiled. You really went above and beyond here. Thank you so much!
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed everything I sent! I had a lot of fun putting it together.
Comment: Thank you for your thoughtful answers to the survey -- your Victorian kitty ornaments sound adorable (this is my first year having pets/kitties, so I look forward to incorporating cats into my tree), and you are lucky to get to celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah :)
Comment: Thanks a lot for your great card and sharing the information about your favourite library. You asked about libraries where I live - well, I live in a very small village and we don't have one :) There's one in the next bigger town, about 3 miles away, but they only have books in German. As I mainly read in English I therefore visit the library in Mainz (about 30 min. from here) which is a bit smaller than yours in Fayetteville but they have books in lots of languages including English.
Comment: Hello friend! I am glad to see this ATC you have made! I was camping this weekend and there are sea gull here in Idaho. A land-locked state! Anywho, I appreciate your writing area on the card as well. Awesome!
Comment: Thank you for creating the nice atc of Castiel to compliment my passion for RAKs. It was also nice that you gave me a quote from Misha Collins. This was an added touch. Thank you for a fun swap.
Comment: Thanks for swapping friend! I cannot seem to get enough of these found images... I love the ones that you have sent especially the detailed description of where they are from. COOL!!!!
Response: I'm so pleased that you were happy with what I sent. Admittedly I was nervous. I figured the images would have more significance with the added details. I hope to swap more with you in the future.
Comment: Beautifully sketched ATC! I don't usually get hand drawn ones so I was excited for the swap and I love animals! Really nice job, keep on sketching:) 💕
Response: Thank you so much! This was my first ever ATC so I was extremely nervous. Most of the ones I do will be sketches. I'm afraid they will appear amateurish. I wish I had snapped a picture of the ATC I sent you so I could post it on Deviant Art. I thought of that after the fact. Lol. Since ATCs are given away I'll have to keep copies of them somehow. Anywho, I'm so glad you like it. Thank you fit the encouraging words.
Comment: Your grandmother was such a special woman - and hardworking!! I wish I could have tasted those tamales - love Mexican food and your descriptions made me very hungry lol!! Thank you for sharing those wonderful memories!!
Comment: Your grandma sounds like a special woman to have known. Mine was not known for her cooking skills. She just cooked out of necessity. When my mom's mom passed away, she developed a close relationship with her mother-in-law after many years of having no relationship.
Comment: Great card! LOL! YAY! A Battlestar fan! I met Edward James Olmos last year. GREAT GUY! I asked why he had to wear blue contacts on the show and they gave him a choice of either dying his hair or wearing contacts...He chose the contacts. My husband is going to be so jealous when he gets home and hears about you meeting Hilo....That is his number three show after Dr Who and Firefly. Thank you too for the great stamps!
Comment: Thank you! I'll pop it in the stocking right now. I have this exact wrapping paper; it was so neat to open up the envelope and see it. Looking forward to seeing what it is come Christmas! Edit: Thank you for the badge holder! It's awesome :-)
Comment: Really fascinating to read your answers, some were similar to mine and others a million miles apart! Just brilliant ! Sorry to hear about your accident! Wishing you a speedy recovery in 2016!
Watch out for postcards!!!!!
I will check your books out!
My daughter loves Fangirl, she' s 14. Btw, my son is nearly 17 and is finally getting a bit more normal, connected, talkative...friendly... It' S nice after nearly 3 years spent sleeping ( or texting!) under his quilt!! I thought it would never get better and I was wrong! Stay positive and strong!!!
Thank you so much for this swap!!💌
Comment: Thank you so much for your card! Almost arrived on the right day, and the card was definitely perfect, LOVE it! :) (I haven't had a chance to see the new movie either, not sure I will get a chance to catch it at the cinema sadly.)
Comment: What a nice early Birthday Present! Sure wasn't going to wait 3 months to open it!!! LOL The hand made owl is neat! Love the colors! Love that it was done by a student. Tell her/him it was very creative. Always looking for T-shirts. I seem to live in them! LOL And the message is one I can live in!! My kids say I have a warped sense of Humor!! LOL The owl note cards are something I can use and will do so. The gingerbread candle smells wonderful. Haven't gotten into washi tape yet. Seem to be hung up on my stickers! HOWEVER you may have just turned the tables on that. Never saw owl washi tape on anything I received, nor in the store when I was buying some for swap items - since it is so popular.
Guess I'll have to look a little harder!! Thank you for a great package
Response: I'm so glad you lived your gifts. I never used washi tape before either but when I found the owl tape for you I found some other patterns that I just had to try for my self.
Comment: This was fun to open! I had no idea what it could have been! It is something I wasn't expecting! I love the envelope maker! I have been getting pretty handmade envelopes made out of scrapbook paper and now I have something to make them with! Thank you so much! I will get a lot of use out of this-wish I could give you more hearts!
