YES! We have discussed that many of us have a slight obsession with the paint chip/samples available at our handy local DIY stores ( ex. Lowe's, Home Depot, Paint Store).

Thus we must use them for....Craptastic Scavenger Hunt Part 2!

The rules are the same as Scavenger Hunt Part 1......Send on time, don't flake..yada yada. This is a GROUP ONLY SWAP so we know to do all that stuff so we can continue to talk about and trade our crap in our much beloved group.

Here are the details of the mission if you so choose to accept it crapfabulous sisters;

Use yourself, your children, cute babies, cute animals, clergy, the elderly....whatever you need to con your chosen store out of paint samples for non painting purposes.

*You will have ONE partner for this swap.

*You will pick out FIVE SEPARATE Cards of paint samples.

*Once you have picked your 5 cards you find one wonderfully crappy thing that matches PART or ALL of the name of the shade on that card. You will do this for EACH of the FIVE Cards. If you have picked paint samples that have multiple shades on one card then choose one of the shades on there and go with that. (example if you have 3 shades on a sample card and you pick the one shade named cream of mushroom....send something that has a mushroom on it, or a crapalicious scrap of cream colored lace.....or a delicious can of soup :) (1 color name per card x5 cards)

~ To sum it up~

*Pick 5 SEPARATE PAINT CARDS/SAMPLES

*Find ONE crappy goody for each card that matches the whole or partial name of that shade. Don't be afraid to get creative with your craperrific goodies! It can be clip art, scraps of fabric, ephemera, rubber stamps..... pretty much anything but explosives, or live animals (check your postal regulations).

  • FIVE different paint cards/samples PLUS FIVE items matching one of the shade names on each of the five cards. 10 items TOTAL. You are more than welcome to share more crap and send extra but it's not required.

Please note that if you get kicked out of the paint store or are chased out by overvigilant paint employees, you are required to send us all footage from the security cameras

Watchlisting this one-- I spent most of Saturday afternoon standing in front of the paint samples at Lowe's and Home Depot... I brought home around 1 pound of samples from each... and planning to try to get back there in the next week or two!

Please clarify for the newbie :) note: I failed word problems in math class too -- dont care about trains/speeds, I care about swaps :)

17papergoddess sorry if it sounds confusing. Pick five different paint samples. Each paint sample will have a name of the shade on it. Pick an item to send to your partner that matches all or part of the name of the shade along with the paint sample card. So you will pick out 5 paint samples and send 5 goodies that matches the names of the shades on each paint sample. If you happen to pick out a paint card/sample that has multiple shades then just pick the one you like the best and use that to pick your item. 5 paint samples, 5 items. If there is anything else I can do or if you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to give me a holler :)

For example, I found a paint chip with the name Black Suede and I am sending piece of crappy black suede I have in my stash (I have it because I just knew I would need it at some point LOL)

Maybe read it like this: "10 items TOTAL" of crap, (ha ha, there's that funny word again) ===> 5 of the 10 items are the paint chips themselves, and the other 5 are the crappy goodies.

I moved this too my watch list because we may be going out of town for my son's b-day. I'm hoping he'll pick the redwood forest, but he doesn't seem as interested as me in looking at monster trees.

I found a bunch of paint chips with lovely names, they are the big ones, big enough to make an ATC.. I don't know what brand they were though.
