Well crap - now I am 40...how did I get so old so fast?! I used to dye my hair for fun - now I dye my hair so I don't get offered the senior discount.
I am happily married to a wonderful husband who can still make me laugh and want to cause him serious bodily harm - usually at once. I guess that means we are in love still. We have 2 dogs - a german shepherd Durango and a black lab mix Jasmine, and a sweet kitty named Scout.
My craft explosion in my house leads to me being a bit unorganized but I am working on it. I say I am working on it - let's be honest - never gonna happen until the people from Hoarders show up.
I am pretty easy going, I have a great sense of humor and think laughter is the best medicine.
I love: animals (of course), books, coffee, music, recycled/upcycled items, and chocolate. I love the color blue, like natural things, and appreciate messy crafters.
Not so much a fan of: religious items, floral print, deathly afraid of clowns and puppets, and perfection.
I love music... I love all kinds: blues, R&B, folk, rock, hip hop, rap... everything but country.
I like strong rocking women: Patty Griffin, Beth Hart, Susan Tedechi, Pink, Joan Osborne, Indigo Girls, Adele, Brandi Carlisle
I like classic funk and R&B: Earth, Wind & Fire, Gap Band, Aretha, War, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder - and more modern R&B like Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, Alicia Keys
I love Bluesy music from John Lee Hooker to Johnny Lang, Stevie Ray Vaughn to Van Morrison
I would love to hear new or local musicians.. lots of undiscovered talent out there!
I am an avid reader - non-fiction, fiction, crime, thrillers, ... everything but romance since I found my prince charming.
If you have read a great book, let me know - I am always searching for new books
Recent awesome books - Room, Memoirs of an Invisible Friend, and Sharp Objects.
Some of my favorite authors are Joe Lansdale, Jeffrey Deaver, Carl Hiasson, Lincoln Child/Douglas Preston, I guess I will read just about anything.
I am not much of a movie buff - I like the old classics with Audrey Hepburn, musicals with Gene Kelley. I don't mind action, comedy etc.... but hate romantic comedies. I can't think of the last movie I went to the theater to see.
I love reality TV (not the dating shows or housewives) Project Runway, The Voice, Storage Wars, American Idol, etc
I also like to watch Discovery channel, history and true crime. Not a big fan of anything on network TV right now. The ID Channel is great although my husband worries I am getting tips on how to commit the perfect crime because of shows like Wives with Knives and Deadly Women.
I have so much wonderful crap in my house to play with - it is hard to pick a favorite. I really like scavenging stuff from thrift stores and yard sales and occasionally discarded items I come across. So I have a huge stash of crafting crap - all awaiting some miracle of craft magic. I really, really love taking something old or discarded and making something else with it. Using pop cans for jewelry, making plastic beads from pop bottles, fusing trash bags for a funky plastic fabric - I love stuff like that!
I like general crafting, beading, paper crafts. I would like to learn how to knit and crochet and my sewing skills are minimal.
When I craft, the house usually looks like a kindergarten class tore through on a sugar high. So if you expect perfect, yikes... not me.
I apologize in advance for dog hair on items (usually when I am taping an envelope shut it shows up) - I try to de-fur everything but stray hairs happen. Also, my dog Jasmine is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Lab mix - which means her fur is very kinky curly. Ok her fur looks like pubic hair so don't be alarmed.
Overall.. not too picky:
I also am very very progressive and liberal (oh no! lol) so I love things that celebrate gay pride, women's rights, diversity, pro-labor, pro-choice, pro-animal, pro-environment etc. If it will make Rush Limbaugh cry, then its perfect for me.
I love puppies! (mainly large breed dogs and puppies), paw prints, animals in general (cept for monkeys), nature scenes
Blue is my favorite color
I like lilac and lavender scented things, and roses
I love to laugh so humor (especially dark humor) is always appreciated
Milk Chocolate mmmmmm yummy

Ok I used to love extras, but you all have been so generous that I am now in possession of more stuff than I could possibly ever use. I love everything, I hate to part with anything and I am at risk for showing up on a very special episode of Hoarders - Crafter Edition. So please, no extras. Don't worry that it will effect if you get a heart - I never give hearts based on extras.
I also like to drink coffee, beer, wine, booze (not all at once) and occasionally smoke a cigar... I know its unhealthy, but I like sitting in the yard on a summer's evening reading a book and puffing on a stogie.
What I really love - is something that tells me about you :) Your passion, your creativity, your heart, means more to me than anything else.
The best "extras" I have received have been sweet handwritten notes that tell me about my swap partner. I have a huge box that I keep all my notes and cards in from my fellow swappers. I love it!
Like I said not too picky but I have a phobia of clowns - as in I will cry and have nightmares
I also don't like bugs (ok except for butterflies and dragonflies), monkeys/apes/chimps (I should have mentioned this earlier, because I got a great postcard but the chimps made me cringe... I think I must have had a bad experience in a prior life)
Since I don't have children, I don't find children themed things cute (like Anne Geddes stuff, porcelain dolls, Precious Moments). I don't mean that in a mean way, its just I don't have that awwww reaction to children.
Kawaii stuff... there are so many here who love it so save it for them - same with anime, cartoons, and stuff like that
I have to put a stop to accumulating any more PAPER!! I love it, hate to part with it and its taking over my craft space. Please, if you are tempted to send me any paper scraps (other than old book pages, music sheets or foreign language pages) STOP. Together we can help reduce my fire hazard in my craft area.

Like I have mentioned I already have lots of crap, so I don't really need much...BUT I would like
Punchella or other stencils
ATCs made by YOU (I love them)
Amigurumi - those cute little crochet creations, I don't have one but whenever I see one I squee!
Catnip filled felt cat toys - my cat loves them and goes nuts for them
I am starting to like tea so I wouldn't mind trying new flavors
Headbands or barrettes (the big ones) I have thick hair and when I exercise it gets in my way and I seem to lose them all the time
I can't think of much else - I am very lucky to have lots of stuff. I am always willing to trade paper in exchange for other stuff!

Deeney, Steve loved the smutty postcard... painting from the Guggenheim, no less. We're getting an infusion of culture, and it's not even growing in the vegetable bin of our refrigerator!
Much appreciated! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Deeney, thanks so much for the "Uff Da" postcard! Steve got a good laugh, although it's hurting him a bit to laugh right now. You are the best for thinking of us! xoxoxo
Oooh... the squirrel massage is fantastic. Who knew?
Happy Valentines Day~
From all of us in The Friendship Circle!
The inmates over at the FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE, wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
