OCTOBER 2020 Partners...there have been SOOOO many issues with my mail this month. I am terrified I am going to end up with a 3 and steel myself each time I come to my profile to check for ratings to make sure people are getting their swaps. Yikes! I received 3 returned pieces of mail for postage due...but then took them to the Post Office to get the "right" postage and they said they didn't know why they were rejected. One letter had "way more than you needed" apparently!! There was also a flood at my Post Office due to a "broken pipe" and that ended in my mail carrier bringing me a package of the swaps that got drowned. I am pretty sure I got everyone a resend on that. But they said it's possible that there were items that were not salvageable. Carrier said she didn't think they were mine. PLEASE let me know if you are missing something. I am always happy to resend right away. Sorry in advance if you are one of those who had to wait!! Happy swapping!!
I love all things art!! Zentangle has been such an enlightening experience and pushing me beyond the things I thought I could do - now I am drawing, painting, collaging, lots of wonderful art making!!! For my day job I am a pediatric mental health therapist (clinical social worker) in Nevada. I have two dogs that I absolutely adore - they are super active so they keep me going!! I also have a flock of chickens that are fun to watch and interact with - bonus, they also provide fresh eggs pretty much year round.
I am a lover of colors! Rainbows and happy, bright colors make me happy. I tend to lean towards turquoise, pink and purple - but, truly, I LOVE colors!! I don't know that there is a color that I would say I don't like.
I like inspirational quotes - especially handwritten little art pieces. Botanical Line Drawings, florals, fun characters - any kind of art is definitely on my LIKE list. I have started to move into the world of ATC, paper crafting and watercolor as well. So ephemera is always appreciated. Samples of watercolor paper are a lovely surprise.
Watching movies is one of my favorite things to do - if I have a strong coffee in hand I am basically in heaven. I am a Capricorn, so productivity is my superpower :D I am known for going non-stop from morning until evening and then I hop on the couch and draw while I hang out with my best friend, my dogs or both.
I have recently finished Goliath, Fleabag (wow this was good in an unexpected way!), Bosch, Carnival Row, and now we are watching Southland. I remember watching it here and there way back when it was on TV. I liked it and love watching from start to finish.
I think superheros are pretty cool (the older XMEN movies got me hooked). I love to cook vegetarian meals, grow things and spend time with my friends and my pets - and sometimes my family.
Let me see - what else. Social Work is my passion and I treat children with mental health struggles in my private practice, Journey Within. I am spiritual but definitely not religious. I am big into the "mystical" (I can't really think of any other way to put it) and I am a GIANT tree hugger. This isn't as uncommon as it used to be :)
Stephen King is my favorite author. I wouldn't say that I am typically a horror person. I am easily spooked, but Stephen King's writing style is phenomenal ...so, yeah, I love him!!
I have an hour long commute to and from work, so I am an avid Audible listener. I have also been listening to books while I paint in the evenings and have been averaging 2 books a week (seems insane to me but I am reading much more than I am watching TV these days!)
This year I finished the 7 book series featuring DC Smith as a detective in the King's Lake area of England (by Peter Grainger). Such a great series. Some of the other books I have read in the past year include: All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood; Dervla McTeirnan's Irish crime series; The Casual Vacancy; The Institute; the first 2 Kingkiller Chronicle books by Rothfuss (over 50 hours of listening!!!) and I am currently (Oct 2020) rereading the Cormoran Strike novels written by JK Rowling's pseudonym, Robert Galbraith. The 5th novel in this series was recently released so I wanted to go back and read them all again. These are really good crime novels - if you are into that genre you should check these out The characters are so full and wonderfully rich..
Hard to say what my very favorite books are. The Stand is my all time favorite story. I also love a well written series where you can follow characters for more than one book. - Narnia books; The Time Quartet, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; Hunger Games -
I had to add some things as I have found in my first year as a Swap-Bot swapper that there are some things I don't like that I wouldn't have necessarily thought of before.
I prefer not to receive teacher/reward/kiddie stickers. If they come on a roll, I don't really have a use for them. I don't have kids and prefer a more grown up aesthetic. Also don't use catalog/magazine cutouts or random photos of things in your life (Polaroids are an exception)
No food or tea/coffee please. I have specific stuff I eat and drink and probably won't drink the tea that gets sent my way.
I don't like creepy, dark stuff. And don't like anything that's hateful, based on bigotry or superiority.
I don't really like adult cartoons. I would say I don't like crude humor, but I am not sure that's what you call it. I love Step Brothers the movie, don't like American Dad and King of the Hill stuff.
Saw this on a couple of profiles and thought it would be fun. Allows some prompts to help give ideas of things that I like and/or that I would enjoy receiving should you be looking for ideas {work in progress}

I just saw your comment on my page. Message me your address and I'd love to swap Nevada stories! Thanks for the invite to the group. I will definitely look at it!
You have been one of the lights in a seemingly dark world.
Aha thank you for being my first comment!! I signed up last year but have really only been active since August. :P
I'm fine waiting for the third book because the first two were amazing - and you can't rush perfection! Have you read the Dresden files?? That's a long series that could keep you busy and entertained, it's amazing. Two books released this year (haven't read them yet) and apparently it's just heartbreak and brilliance!
&& I'm so glad you're enjoying the swap series!! Thank you for being a regular participant! Hopefully we get each other in future swaps. (I have you for the "Your State/Country Shape PC" and I can't wait to finish it for you!).
Thank you for the lovely compliments regarding my ATC's. That is so nice to hear. You put a big smile on my face :)
Happy First, My Lovely Swappin’ Friend!!!
Hi Kristi, I've been meaning to thank you for the wonderful Game of Thrones postcard you sent me - I love it! I have it on the refrigerator and it always brings me a (much needed!) smile... many "hearts" to you! Be safe and stay well - MsBellaDonna
