I am a retired teacher, mother of three, grandmother of 5 (and step-grandmother of 2 more-soon). I have been married over 40 years to a husband I love and respect. I love to garden, craft and create. We have no pets, but we enjoy bird watching. And I am thankful for all of the blessings God has given me.
I have had many favorite crafts from crochet to macrame to silk embroidry to scrapbooking to jewelry making, and so on. I would consider crocheting a favorite but right now I am enjoy papercrafting. I love to make ATCs and tags. I think inchies are fun. Designing 3x3 or 4x4 chipboard pieces opens offers lots of choices. And I always like making cards. I did some scrapbooking, even taught classes, but I love taking picture on a splendid camera my husband bought for me and I have so many photos that I get frustrated making my own scrapbook. Rubber stamping is the focus of most of my paper craft projects but not all. I have been stamping for about thirty years and have many, many stamps.
I like inspirational books, craft books, children's books of all sorts, and fairy books. I am not an avid reader but enjoy some things that come out on the best seller list.
Favorite movies: PRACTICAL MAGIC, NOTTING HILL, STEEL MAGNOLIAS and, MAMMA MIA!
I enjoy easy listening music and some classical. I like country music if I'm in the mood. Christian music is great and I LOVE Christmas music.
I like Fairies (figurines, prints, jewelry, books, anything with fairies), but I like pretty fairies, graceful young fairies, not cutsy or weird ones. Things having to do with fairies and fantasy appeal to me too. I also like vintage items, ie. vintage images and bits of lace or ribbon and old buttons. I like gardening so I like flowers and ferns and, well, back to the fairy kind of thing.
I like using rich colors over pastels. I enjoy oriental themes and have studied Chinese brush art. Since most things vintage appeal to me, I choose that style often. You will see flowers a lot in my projects. And I like to learn and use new techniques.
It's nice to see others ideas and the project that brings the idea to reality. I appreciate the effort someone puts into that project. I like to look at techniques used and sometime try to learn a little bit. Mostly, I like seeing that someone cares enough to do their best when they complete a project to send out. I try to make that my goal when I make something to mail.
