Quarantine Warning: there are some things that cannot be sent to Australia. These include animal & plant materials (including tea, potpourri...). Please check out http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mail for more info! A recent letter sent to me was delayed because it was detained by quarantine and the tea removed.

Spoiler alert: I may post pictures of swaps I'm sending out on my blog. I don't post the username of who I'm sending it to, but if you know you're my partner for a swap and want a surprise, then no peeking! ;) Also, I may post pictures of items I receive. Please let me know in advance if you don't want yours posted.

About Me

I am an educational technologist and love doing hands-on crafty things in my spare time.

I speak Spanish & French, so quotes, recipes, etc can be sent in them.

I pledge to rate
Note: I am slowly filling out this profile, and will endeavor to expand on it as I spend more time on the site, and participate in more swaps.

I prefer quality over quantity - I'll give a heart if I think the swap item came from the heart, not based on extras :)

I have no problem with you swapping on or regifting any items that I send to you, and I will do the same from time to time (with credit if it is a handmade item). Please let me know if this is a problem for you :)

Favorite Crafts

I do a lot of sewing, and I have recently started quilting.

I dabble in crochet, "inchies", dotees, ATCs, toy making...

I passively collect stamps and coins from across the world. That is to say, I hoard them when I receive letters / travel but I don't buy them or even have any idea of their worth.

I love stickers, I both collect them and use them on letters etc

I have started collecting dotees, and would like any of the following:

  • a farm animal (sheep, pig, cow, etc)
  • a monster
  • a leaf
  • a dinosaur
  • a computer geek
  • a robot
  • ethnic
  • a flower
  • miniature
  • irregularly-shaped
  • sleepy/night-time
  • anything you like, based on my profile or not :)

I love

Vegan cooking, chickens, dinosaurs, travelling, hand-drawn pictures, cupcakes, cows, op shops, bananas, cute buttons, cloth shopping bags, stickers, dotees, South America, amirugumi, pigs, decorated envelopes, chocolate, bicycles, cycling, felted items, ducks, tote bags, hand-written letters, ATCs, monsters, dotees, inchies, birds...

Earthy tones and bright contrasting colours.

Wish list

These are only ideas to give you inspiration, and are certainly not an exclusive list I am not hard to please and am especially fond of anything handmade :)

  • Felt squares, coloured and/or patterned
  • Embroidery Thread
  • Fabric button kit
  • Charms
  • Beads (especially Bali beads, glass & unique ones)
  • Fun/unusual buttons
  • Squares of Fabric with interesting designs
  • Small clay faces for dollmaking
  • Amigurumi items
  • Nice stickers with flowers, fish, butterflies, geometric patterns or kawaii designs. Especially like puffy/furry/otherwise tactile ones.
  • Hand-drawn inchies
  • Pretty patterned papers & scraps
  • Rubber stamps (esp. home-made ones)
  • Inking pads
  • Tofu themed toys :P
  • Dotees
  • Handmade/altered postcards / gift cards

Please do not send

Soap, perfume, teacher stickers, gum, religious icons, bath/shower products, makeup...

Please note that I am vegan:

  • If you are sending food or recipes, please bear this in mind (no meat, milk, egg or honey products). However I have no allergies... yay!!
  • If you are sending textiles, please refrain from sending items made from wool or leather (including wool yarn, wool felt, leather cording...)

Warning: there are some things that cannot be sent to Australia: These include animal & plant materials (including fruit tea, pot pourri...). Please check out http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/mail/cant-mail for more info!

Comment: Thank you so much for the fantastic recipes. It was so much fun to open your handmade envelope and I like the postcard & stamp for sustainability. I was also pleased because I have all of ingredients for all of the dishes, except the spinach and the tomatoes. I'll just have to run to the coop and get some. I can't wait to use my eggplants on these new curries.
Response: Yes, I love vegan/vegetarian recipes that use "everyday" ingredients. In fact, two of the recipes were from "ordinary" cookbooks! ;-) I'm so glad the re-send arrived safely & happy cooking!

Response: Hehe, I know! I write down "quotes" from book as I read them, so they're not always witty one-liners! :)

Comment: take all the artistic license you want -- you can still draw better than I would ever attempt to! lol You are not alone in your descent into domesticity :) it's the 'side affect' no one tells you about, lol. Thanks for the stamp too - do you really have lizards that large in Aussie land?
Response: A side effect I had guessed may have arrived in marriage, but not before! ;) Thankfully, those terrifyingly large, scary lizards have been extinct for around 40,000 years ;)
