IMPORTANT NOTE TO SWAP HOSTS: I am a returning swapper from over ten years ago who left in excellent standing with over 1000 hearts, a 5.0 rating, and never ever flaked. I do not remember my email from that time and the system shows that I have a duplicate account when the host checks. (It could be unavailable as that server was taken down.) I used the same name, Karen Fife.
I am currently waiting for Admin to merge any duplicate accounts. If you have any questions, please PM.
THINGS ABOUT ME:
Hello! I live in Michigan and love it, even the winters.
MUSIC: Classical, New Age, and Easy Listening, but I listen to all types.
BOOKS: I read about 85 books a year, mostly series mysteries such as Anne Perry’s Victorian mysteries, Peter Robinson, J. D. Robb, and many British detective series. My favorite recent book was The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman.
MOVIES: Happy endings like Gifted, McFarland USA, Rudy, Letters to Juliette, and dark suspenseful thrillers like Suburbia, Sanctum, and Perfect Getaway.
TELEVISION: I rarely watch TV, but occasionally watch a series such as Downton Abbey or The Crown. My favorite series were King of Queens and Cold Case.
CRAFTS: Quilting (I’m currently working on a project making blankets and quilts for homeless vets, foster kids and pregnancy resource centers), crocheting dishcloths, making my own body and home care products with essential oils....painting with acrylics (abstracts or just playing with color)...making greeting cards. I also dabble in photography and am finally taking a class.
I am a retired preschool teacher (two-year-olds) and still sub on occasion. I am married to a retired professor and we love going on road trips. This past summer we took Route 66 to California. The previous summer we toured Yosemite NP and all the major National parks out west. This is a good way to collect postcards!
I love to make vintage-style ATCs. I often have a theme with a little twist of eyebrow-raising innuendo. I’m up for private ATC swaps of that nature.
POSTCARD LIKES: Where you live.....Anything strange or unusual...Out-of-the ordinary places, especially small town or village where you live...reproduction vintage especially ones with LARGE LETTER cities, ....day or night city skylines. Tourist type, especially if they are of uncommon places. Unusual animals are fun to receive.
I prefer not handmade unless swap is specifically for homemade PCs. I will do private swaps for handmade postcards.
Real photo please, if possible, instead of drawings or cartoons.
I would like my postcards NAKED unless the swap requires an envelope.
I almost always give hearts because I truly appreciate the effort that goes into a swap. I spend time and effort on every swap I send, even the lowly postcard, to try and make it something you will enjoy or will make you smile
I’m puzzled by silent 5s and silent hearts. To choose not to comment says more about the swapper than about what I have sent.
DISLIKES: None, really. I’m not picky. Actually nice Zazzle and printed postcards are fine with me.
COLORS: Love colors and colorful things. Blacks and grays are cool also. Pale pink will make me super happy. I would most likely love and use anything you send.
GENERAL THEMES I LOVE: squirrels...sloths...goats...chickens...gnomes... flowers...birds...benches...chairs...windows...doors, lighthouses...landscapes...
Zazzle and printed postcards are okay with me.
TEAS: Any kind or brand. A swapper sent me Peach Pie tea which was awesome, and I haven’t been able to find it. English Breakfast is also a favorite. I’ll try any tea.
LITTLE THINGS: Seasonal or holiday themes (any time of year). Seasonal stickers, unused postcards, notecards
I will never flake and I rate as soon as I receive your mail. I use a spreadsheet to keep everything straight. It seems to me it is the receiver’s responsibility to let the sender know if their mail has not arrived in a reasonable time. ( Not the sender’s place to chase down ratings.). That’s usually not how it works though😬😬😬
My mail is often picked up as late as 7:30 pm, so the postmark on my mail date may show the following day. Personally I really don’t bother searching for a mail date. I’m just happy it arrived!
THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE MANY HEARTS AND NICE COMMENTS! YOU ADD SO MUCH TO MY DAY! YOU ARE AWESOME!
