I'm 33, Financial administrator and artist here in NYC. I went to art school and then pivoted to financial services during the Great Recession.
I'm studying to take the Certified Financial Planner exam in September, 2020 - so here I am, a student again. I can't wait to use what I've learned to help others.
I'm a tax nerd and a postal nerd.
My favorite part of swap bot is learning about different people. Just reading profiles is so much fun. Everyone is so different. Thanks for being you.
I have an A5 sized gold and black planner, filofax-style bound by six rings, so if you have paper in that size that you don't want, I'm happy to take it. Also love all planner stuff.
Stuff: Stickers, stamps, planner stuff, postcards, washi, etc Themes: Cats, banking/finance/tax, arts, inclusion, uplifting, colorful, gold, trains, USPS.
I love written and stamped postcards. My postcard box is a curiosity and my guests love rifling through my postcard box, reading all the interesting messages.
I have about a zillion that only say, "Hi, hope you're good, have a good day" - while the sentiment is nice, let's make things more interesting!
If I am your partner for a postcard swap, here are some prompts to write to me:
A joke (these are my favorite postcards to get and the ones I collect)
Something we have in common
Something that is a fun difference between us
About your family, your pets, your dreams, or a goal you are working towards.
Something quirky from the local news of your hometown - hopefully not something depressing though.
Your favorite quote, song lyric, or verse from your Holy book.
Something outright wacky and wild that makes no sense at all! :P
I'm not a picky person, generally. I don't need kid stuff, religious paraphernalia (writing about yours is fine and even encouraged though)
I collect forever stamps, both cancelled and uncancelled. My goal is to have one of each kind of stamp since forever stamps were introduced. I am nowhere near that goal!
I also have a scrapbook of beautiful postmarks (the round kind with the date in the middle), from all over the world.
If you're wondering where I get the vintage stamps I send out on swaps, my stamp dealer's name is Armen Hovsepian and his website is USatFACE.com. It is always a surprise what he sends.
If you save the cancelled stamps off your swaps, I'd be delighted to receive them.
