If you ever get a package from me that comes with postage due, please let me know and I will reimbuse you. Hopefully it will never happen, but if it does, please accept my apologies.
If you invite me to join your group and I decline, please don't take it personal. I am honored that you would want me in your group. If I do not feel that I can contribute to your group and spend time doing things in the group, then I will not join. Also, if I have dropped out of one of your groups, it is for the same reason. There are a lot of great groups out there, just not enough hours in the day! :)
I found this web site and thought it sounded like fun, and it certainly has been! I have been married for 36 years, have 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, a dog and several ferral cats. I enjoy sewing, doing crafts, decorating my house, gardening, shopping at antique/craft malls, garage sales/thrift shops and ebay. I like postcards and nice stamps, so I sign up for a lot of postcard swaps. As far as crafting goes, I am a beginner. I live in Texas, so if you are looking for Texas postcards or souvenirs, I would love to swap with you. I send all of my swaps. I do not mark them sent until they have been dropped at the post office. I try to put packages together that my partner will enjoy. If you do not receive one of my swaps, please let me know so I can make it right. If you need extra time on a swap, just let me know. I understand that things can happen. I have met lots of nice people on this site (and a few grouches). I appreciate those of you who have helped me when I have tried something new, coaching me and giving me encouragement. Your kindness will not be forgotten and I hope that I can pass that kindness on to somone else. :)
I like country music from the 50's to the present.
My favorite books and magazines are craft and decorating. I do read mystery or biography books occasionally.
I watch HGTV and the ID channel a lot. I am also a Nascar fan. Go Jeff Gordon!!!
I sew some, like to do cross stitch and make quilts. I have a whole list of things I plan to do/try, but just haven't gotten around to yet. I would like to make rag dolls, yo yo clown dolls, a rag quilt, decorate a jean jacket, paint carousel horses, make wreaths, paint/decopage furniture, paint/etch glass, learn how to decorate cakes and make cake pops. I have embarrassed my husband on several occasions by asking him to stop so I could pick items from people's trash pile so that I could redo them. I look at things and think of how they could look as opposed to how they do look. I would love to have a "studio" where I could have all of my items in one place and different projects going on all over the room.
I collect lots of things, teddy bears, ethnic dolls, red glassware, raggedy ann & andy, pillsbury dough boy, campbells kids, colored bottles and bird houses. I love to shop at resale shops, flea markets and antique stores. I buy things that remind me of when I was growing up.
If I am your partner for a swap and you are wondering what I would like, here are some suggestions, but please know that I will be happy with whatever you send, because you took the time to pick it out for me:
magnets (state/country)
handkerchiefs/bandannas
fine point pens
buttons
doll patterns/kits
ethnic dolls
craft books/magazines
decorating books/magazines
gardening books/magazines
garden seeds/bulbs
vintage postcards, doilies, bottles, etc.
newspapers from other towns/states/countries
memorabilia/information on other states/countries,
note cards
wind chimes
bird houses
yard ornaments
postcards (all kinds)
or whatever items you choose for me.
My favorite color is peach, but I like all colors. I am not opposed to receiving things from resale shops/flea markets etc., as long as they are in good shape. I am not allergic to anything and eat or drink most anything except coffee.
I feel that I am very blessed to be on this earth and that as long as I am here, I should give back for the blessings that I receive. I volunteer my time here and there and also help our food pantry. On this site, I try to bring a smile to peoples faces when I can. If you know of someone that is going through a rough time or could use some "happy mail", send me a message and I'll be happy to drop a card in the mail to them. I now belong to a group called Spreading Sunshine. Come check it out and join us!
Thanks for reading my profile. Happy swapping to all of you!
