We're all mad here

I am a 27 year old female from Louisville, Kentucky USA. I currently have a Bachelors in Psychology and am currently finishing up my Early Elementary Education degree. At the moment, I work in a daycare. I go back and forth between substitute/floater and toddler teacher. I absolutely love my job even though it doesn't make me rich. I love the kids I work with and love the fact that I get paid to play all day. I'm always looking for new art projects to do with them and craft supplies, etc., for them. I am in a relationship with my boyfriend whom I have been with for about five and a half years. His name is Alex and he is a former boxing and MMA coach. Right now, he works as a computer programmer/software engineer which is his dream job.

I consider myself to be a very open-minded and intelligent person. I suppose I'm a bit out of sorts when it comes to my place in the world. I don't quite seem to be a good fit with the current century. In other words, I and others around me, seem to think that I would be more at home in, perhaps, the Renaissance or the Victorian periods.

I am a fairly shy person and I do require quite a bit of time before I feel comfortable enough to open up to someone. However, I do find that I am very loyal to those that I consider to be my close friends. Though I do try to be nice, I find that I am often disagreeable and difficult to get along with. That, of course, improves as I get to know people. I have a very difficult time trusting people which means that I don't always talk about very personal or deep concepts with someone until I get to know him/her.

I enjoy philosophical discussions and chats about good literature. Of course, I am not above discussing music, movies, or other aspects of daily life. I love to discuss current events although I do tend to stay away from politics as it does cause quite a bit of problems. I tend to be very opinionated when it comes to certain topics and I am not afraid to voice my opinion even if it doesn't agree with the majority.

I love to write poetry and stories although I don't always feel comfortable sharing what I write. As with most things about myself, my stories and poetry tend to take on a very dark tone. I suppose I write that way because that's how I view the world.

I am not as difficult or as aloof as I sound. I do have quite an odd/off the wall sense of humor. I suppose it can be described as dark. I am also spontaneous most of the time and can be quite random. For some strange reason, I have an obsession with grave robbers. I also have a mad and possibly unhealthy obsession with vampires. I suppose I should also admit my obsession for Alice in Wonderland.

Comment: Love your board - so many lovely images! I love the man in the suit, too. And it's funny - at least where I lived in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the saddle shoe made a temporary resurgence. I remember wanting them so bad because everyone else had them - I think my mom knew they would just be a short fad because she wouldn't get them for me (much the same way I wouldn't spend a fortune on Nike Airs for my son when they were really popular). Thanks for sharing!

Profile Comment: Severus Snape

I am very sorry for being late on this swap! I hope you received my e-mail about me being late... Stupid internet down for days! Anyway...

Snape & the actor Alan Rickman mean the world to me, after my brother passing away in 2012. For personal reasons (too long story) he is VERY important for me & my family.

“And what will you give me in return, Severus?’ ‘In – in return?’ Snape gaped at Dumbledore, and Harry expected him to protest, but after a long moment he said, ‘Anything...”

“Look...at...me..." he whispered. The green eyes found the black, but after a second, something in the depths of the dark pair seemed to vanish, leaving them fixed, blank, and empty. The hand holding Harry thudded to the floor, and Snape moved no more.”

Thank you for being my swap partner! I absolutely LOVED this swap! (Although it took me over 4h to get this prepared, for some reason the images wouldn't upload :( and I spent hours trying to crop images and uploading them, lol)

Love, Always!

"He was probably the bravest man I ever knew."

Severus Snape Profile Comment

Severus Snape was a half blood wizard, his mother, Eileen Prince was a witch and his father, Tobias Snape was a muggle, with Snape being a half blood wizard and his mother's last name being Prince, he decided to give himself the nickname as The Half Blood Prince.

Before Lily was killed by Voldemort, Snape became a member of the Order of the Phoenix and an agent during the Second Wizarding War. Professor Dumbledore trusted Snape for all reasons that were kept between them both until their deaths. When Snape died it was revealed that his deep and strong love for Lily caused him to redeem himself, he started to join Professor Dumbledore 'cause of the prospect of Lily's protection from Voldemort.

After Lily's death, Snape made a promise that he'll do anything to protect her son, Harry Potter. He made that promise because of the love he had for her.

What an amazing man! Thanks for everything professor Snape.

"Not everything is black and white. Sometimes there is a grey area, and sometimes that grey outshines the brightest of colors." “I don’t expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses...”

Trader1244 on Jan 23, 2016:

Professor Severus Snape was a half-blood wizard who was the son of the witch Eileen Snape (née Prince) and Muggle Tobias Snape. image “He was a Death Eater responsible for the death of the only person he ever seemed to love, yet a courageous protector of that woman’s child at great personal risk to himself. A spiteful, petty man full of jealousy, yet one that sacrificed himself in many ways to protect others. Snape is complicated, a genius who is capable of the most base human emotions, whose actions in life range from truly monstrous to unfathomably heroic.”....Charles Archer
