I'M RUNNING BEHIND ON THINGS AT THE MOMENT FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS- I'LL BE BACK ON TRACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE- PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME TO FIND OUT WHERE I AM
I've only just discovered swap-bot and it reminds me a lot of Nervousness.org that I used to be part of a long time ago (well 5 years or more is a long time in the internet land isn't it)
At the moment I am studying for my second degree, having decided that one just wasn't enough, and not being brave enough yet to start an MA.
5 years ago I co-founded a shop and gallery in Bristol, uk, called 'here' which hosted many wonderful exhibitions, and sold fantastic things. It still does, but i'm not involved in it anymore as i'm now working on my own plans for world domination.
I am fascinated by memory and the way we can re-create and re-imagine pasts for objects and a lot of my work is based around these ideas. I use a lot of vintage materials in my work, and include vintage ceramics in many of my pieces.
I'm kind of a bit at a loss about what to say in here as I stumbled into swap-bot via someone's blog, but now i'm here i'm excited and hopeful that this will help me be more productive on a day-to-day basis.
I've been making zines on and off for about the last 12 years, and i've been selling all kinds of things on Etsy since the site opened.
I do have some health issues that mean at times I find it hard to get online/to the post office, but if you check my feedback on Etsy you will see it's 100% positive, and i'm sure that soon it will be on here too.
I have some ideas for swaps i'd like to host, but I think i'll get a few under my belt before I rush into setting anything up!
Primarily i'm a paper and pen kinda girl- cutting and pasting, photocopying and stapling are the things that make me most excited. However here's a long list of other things I like to turn my hand to:
making clothes
trying to learn patchwork
knitting scarves
making 1" buttons
ceramics
making felt from cat fur (seriously- I only did this once, but you can read about it on GetCrafty.com)
polaroid photos
print making
zines (will swap my zines for your zines)
gocco
comics
godzilla
cheese
dogs (i'm not super allergic in an 'I will die from this' way, but I really don't like dog hair/smell, so if you have a dog i'm probably not a good person to swap with)
smoking (same as with dogs- it won't kill me, but it will smell yucky)
religion (please don't pray for me, or send me religious items (oh unless they are kitsch/tacky collectables from any religion!))
meat (i've been veggie for about 20 years now) so please don't send me anything that has animals in!
i'm primarily here to swap for zines, and get involved with making more of them- I hope that swap-bot gives me the push to be more productive!
I'm not interested in swapping store bought goods/stickers/toys etc as I have way too much stuff already!

Oh, my, I hope my zine did not cause you problems. My Bubba is like right by my side all the time!
On a better plane... you have much the same philosophy on life as I do. ATCarol
Hi, Just want to say that your "Illustration zine" is on the way to your home.
Sure, we can make a private swap for a zine, if you feel it :) I see you are finally in Zinesters, i'm glad!
Hello! :D And welcome!!
