WOW! This December has been on for the record!
Bad/Acute Bronchitis-Emergency room, breathing treatments at home, could not go out into cold air made it extremely worse, etc.
Good/Doctor said eight more weeks middle of December/only lasted one more week!! Gave me insight for others who experience breathing problems. Gotta breathe.
Bad/The worse ice storm in Oklahoma history (was supposed to be last January 2007, maybe Al knows what he is talking about). No electric for 9 days, no water for three. Major tree damage! Looks like a F4 tornado hit. There are still individuals who have no electic.
Good/We have a woodstove, electic generator, survival skills (both grew up in rural areas). My daughter and her family could come here and stay warm.
Bad/My granddaughter, Alex (3) has been extremely ill with major ear infections for about 4 months, she finally had ear surgery. Her mom and dad had used up all their pto, etc. days so Nanny went to Dallas to take care of her Alex for 10 days.
Good/Alex is back to health and is starting to be her old fiesty self! The surgery went well.
However, my family had a very good and thankful Christmas. We are truly blessed
I apologize for any delay in my swaps or problems, I will honor my commitment to all swaps. Thank you for understanding!
I sincerely hope that you and yours had happy holidays and 2008 finds you well and blessed.
I am 52 years young and happily married to the love of my life. Our blended family includes a son (36), 3 daughters (28, 27, 24), 5 (9, 7, 5, 3, 1 months)granddaughters. My husband says he is destined to be surounded by women! I think he likes it! My education background is in counseling. However, thrifting, has always been part of my life (maybe an addiction, love the thrill of the bargains)! I go to lots of garage sales, estate sales, etc. I have passed this love on to my two girls. I live in the country by a small town in Oklahoma. I am a Ebay Education Specialist (I teach people how to Ebay). I love Ebay! I also have 3 flea market booths. We have 2 dogs, Skinny and Dandy, all thrifted, a lop-ear rabbit and a Green Rump Parrotlet, they all share their lives with us.
I like all colors, but favorites are greens and blues (no pastels). I like scented candles. My kitchen is decorated in a vintage sometimes kitchsy fruit theme. I drink all kinds of hot beverages, caffeine or not. I like most foods. I grew up very poor, you ate what was put on the table. Everyone would be amazed at what I have eaten! Sometimes I am amazed!
My passion, besides my husband and family, is gardening. I could spend everyday from Spring to Fall digging in the dirt.
I read constantly, books, magazines, internet, newspapers.
I like: Candy (no black licorice) Coffee Dried fruits, nuts, etc. Teas Recipes Baking supplies (cupcake liners, sprinkles, etc,) Special seasonings (maybe a favorite from your area) Bento Lunches
Odd and Ends Old books on nature, real people, gardening, families Kitchen Klatter Magazine Recorded CD's Kitchen Doodads Candles Funny Stories Vintage Ads Halloween
I love all kinds of music, but my favorites are bluegrass, some country, vintage rock, blues and easy listening, classical, etc. I choose the music I listen according to my moods and my activities. I like to clean house to Creedence Clearwater. I like to read to the blues or easy listening. Geewillykers, lets see, I like Gordon Lightfoot, Carole King, Don Williams, Hank Williams, SR., Savoy Brown, Dixie Chicks, Jethro Tull, Jackson Browne, Eric Clapton, etc.etc.etc.
I like all kinds of movies. My most favorite movie of all is It's A Wonderful Life, James Stewart! Sci-fi is always good, Blade Runner, War of the Worlds (old & new). Any well made movie like Philadephia, Forrest Gump, Far From Heaven. Lots of classics like An Apartment for Peggy. I have some traditions, for example at Halloween, I watch The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and old sci-fi movies. At Christmastime, I watch It is a Wonderful Life and White Christmas (usually with a warm blanket and a hot drink in hand). I enjoy quirky love stories, Murphy's Romance and While You were Sleeping.
I am not a big TV watcher. HBO Big Love and AMC Mad Men have become favorites of mine. I like CBS Survivor, love the group dynamics, due to my education and background in counseling. When the show first came on I thought how stupid! Then I was sucked into the black hole of Survivor. Of course, the great CSI Las Vegas and Lost, which keeps me guessing. Jericho is decent, reviews still out. Dr. Phil (tells it like it is!).
I love crafting, sewing and jewelry making. I love to refurbish old things into new things, such as painting old furniture, making pillows, etc. from vintage linens and cloth. I collect wall pockets, tea bag holders, vintage green elfs.
I like: fabric buttons sewing trims sewing patterns beads ATC supplies vintage ephemera oriental origami paper

Retromama-It came, it came!!!! After a terrible day for both of the boys(apparently they both were wild(, the package made its way to the post office and into our home. Nathan, all of two, said, "Dank you, dank you!!!" Caleb, 8 and all, was, "WOW, oh WOW!" Why, because it was all for them and they had so much fun. The confetti pumpkins are all over my family room, but the "awws" that followed by Nathan and Caleb are worth it. Thank you!!!!
