About Me

AKA Bombshellomatic

I am 55 years young and happily married to the love of my life. Our blended family includes a son (39), 3 daughters (31, 30, 28), 5 (13, 10, 0, 6, 4)granddaughters and another grandchild on the way! My husband says he is destined to be surounded by women! I think he likes it! My education background is in counseling. However, thrifting, has always been part of my life (maybe an addiction, love the thrill of the bargains)! I go to lots of garage sales, estate sales, etc. I have passed this love on to my two girls. I live in the country by a small town in Oklahoma. I am a Ebay Education Specialist (I teach people how to Ebay). I love Ebay! I have one antique market booth. We have 2 Cats, Snow White and Greenie, 3 dogs, Dandy (mutt), Lilly (Mini-Schnauser) and Jezebel (Yorkshire Terrier, really a granddog) a lop-ear rabbit and 2 gerbils, they all share their lives with us. I am going to have Chickens Spring of 2011.

I like all colors, but favorites are greens and blues (no pastels) and earth tones. I like scented candles. My kitchen is decorated in a vintage sometimes kitchsy fruit theme. I drink all kinds of hot beverages, caffeine or not. I like most foods. I grew up very poor, you ate what was put on the table. Everyone would be amazed at what I have eaten! Sometimes I am amazed!

My passion, besides my husband and family, is gardening. I could spend everyday from Spring to Fall digging in the dirt. I started a Farmers Market this year in the rural county I live in and was successful and making plans now for 2011.

I read constantly, books, magazines, internet, newspapers.

I like: Candy (no black licorice) Coffee Dried fruits, nuts, etc. Teas Recipes Baking supplies (cupcake liners, sprinkles, etc,) Special seasonings (maybe a favorite from your area) Bento Lunches

Odd and Ends Old books on nature, real people, gardening, families Kitchen Klatter Magazine Recorded CD's Kitchen Doodads Candles Funny Stories Vintage Ads Halloween

Favorite Music

I love all kinds of music, but my favorites are bluegrass, some country, vintage rock, blues and easy listening, classical, etc. I choose the music I listen according to my moods and my activities. I like to clean house to Creedence Clearwater. I like to read to the blues or easy listening. Geewillykers, lets see, I like Gordon Lightfoot, Carole King, Don Williams, Hank Williams, SR., Savoy Brown, Dixie Chicks, Jethro Tull, Jackson Browne, Eric Clapton, etc.etc.etc.

Favorite Movies

I like all kinds of movies. My most favorite movie of all is It's A Wonderful Life, James Stewart! Sci-fi is always good, Book of Eli, Blade Runner, War of the Worlds (old & new). Any well made movie like Philadephia, Forrest Gump, Far From Heaven. Lots of classics like An Apartment for Peggy. I have some traditions, for example at Halloween, I watch The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and old sci-fi movies. At Christmastime, I watch It is a Wonderful Life and White Christmas (usually with a warm blanket and a hot drink in hand). I enjoy quirky love stories, Murphy's Romance and While You were Sleeping.

Favorite Television

I am not a big TV watcher. HBO Big Love, True Blood and AMC Mad Men have become favorites of mine. I like CBS Survivor, love the group dynamics, due to my education and background in counseling. When the show first came on I thought how stupid! Then I was sucked into the black hole of Survivor. Of course, the great CSI Las Vegas and Lost, which keeps me guessing. Jericho is decent, reviews still out.

Favorite Crafts

I love crafting, sewing and jewelry making. I love to refurbish old things into new things, such as painting old furniture, making pillows, etc. from vintage linens and cloth. I collect wall pockets, tea bag holders, vintage green elfs.

I like: fabric buttons sewing trims sewing patterns beads ATC supplies vintage ephemera oriental origami paper

Retromama-It came, it came!!!! After a terrible day for both of the boys(apparently they both were wild(, the package made its way to the post office and into our home. Nathan, all of two, said, "Dank you, dank you!!!" Caleb, 8 and all, was, "WOW, oh WOW!" Why, because it was all for them and they had so much fun. The confetti pumpkins are all over my family room, but the "awws" that followed by Nathan and Caleb are worth it. Thank you!!!!
