About Me

I live on an urban farm with dogs, cats chickens and a pig! We have a great big vegetable garden and boy are those tomatoes good! I love farm animals period and if I could get my family to leave the big city, it would be green acres for me!

I am a home schooling, soap making, garden loving mother of two wonderful children! I wish I had more time for crafty stuff but that will come again in time. I love all things creepy yet cute! I love elvis, Dia de los muertos, motorcycles, punkrock! I love shrines and all things asian i.e. images of the buddha or hindu gods.

I love to knit, quilt and sew. I am working hard right now to beef up my knitting and spinning skills. I am also looking forward to the completion of my new studio space so I can start learning how to solder and make some jewelry.

I like to make cards and dottee dolls, so i collect all sorts of ephemera for them.

my favorite colors are really about combinations. blue green/green blue chocolate brown/pink cranberries/ochre, all things black!

the colors i don't like are the really bright colors and the pastels

FAVORITE BOOKS LOTR, harry potter, lemony snicket, the spiderwick chronicals. I love the diana gabledon outlander series. The Mists of avalon. Really it is all about the historical fiction and fantasy.

Favorite Music

god the 80's were great! Roxy Music, Japan, Duran duran! The Dickies, X! Lorena MCkennet, Paris COmbo. The epoxies, Bjork, big band

Favorite Movies

Blade Runner, Star Wars, The Scent of Green Papaya. Nightmare before Christmas, V for Vendetta, Gattica, Mirror Mask, totoro, anything studio gibli!!!!!

Favorite Television

The new BattleStar Gallactica, FireFly, The Venture Bros., The Colbert Report, Dark Angel, witchblade

Favorite Crafts

sewing, quilting, knitting..learning how to spin now. I make fantastic soap. I love working with handmade papers of all kinds. My favorite fabrics to work with include: asian inspired themes and kimono pieces. I love vintage and japanese fabrics as well. I love to make bags for my friends! All things waldorf and my speciality, felt food.

Things I love:

bento boxes miyazaki/studio gibli anything yarn - natural fibers only dia de los muertos fairies & gnomes ( not cutesy) mythical creatures

about my daughter

my lovely girl is ten! I can't believe it. She loves fairies and the borrowers. All things tiny like dollhouse miniatures. She also loves anime like naruto, inuyasha and sailor moon. Studio Gibli films like totoro, Howl's moving castle and princess mononoke, and castle in the sky. She loves to craft and read anime novels.

about my son

he is 2 1/2 and way into star wars. he loves playing with cars and wooden animals, legos and blocks etc. He loves to watch starwars and wallace and grommet. He likes to paint and color and play with play dough!

about my family

while we have no allergies at my house, we prefer to keep it natural. If you send us scented things try to keep it essential oils. We are a waldorf based home (except for the star wars!) so we like to use materials found in nature: wool or natural fiber yarn, natural fiber fabrics etc. thank you so much for your consideration;)

Comment: Thanks for the Harry Potter things! It's clear that you put a lot of thought into them, and took into account that Ron is my favorite character. I was a little afraid of the Beazor stones at first, though, heh. :) However, I do have to say that I was really disappointed that you mailed this three weeks after the mail date. When we had a month to get everything together, it was disheartening to think for too long that I wasn't going to get anything. I'm giving a 5 for effort, but I had to add that note.

Maltagirl,

I received the ribbons and love them! It's so nice to have such a variety. I have already used parts of three of them making cards!

Thanks a bunch.
