Enjoy lots of things from crochet, sewing, and embroidery, to stained glass, making matchboxes, assemblage, art journals, and upcycling junk. Am currently into jewelry-making and swapping. Love vintage: embroidery, ribbons, laces, paper ephemera, rusty farm equipment, photos, tiny porcelain dolls (or parts of them!), millinery flowers and netting, birds, birds, birds, did I mention birds? Playing currently with my new garden--starting over from scratch and hoping to create a cottage/English feel--that was then. Now, I have given in to the vermin (pocket gophers). They loved everything I planted except the fuchsias, agapanthus, and belladonna amaryllis. Thinking of trying succulents or rocks!
Love many types of music from classical to big band to rock to new age. Currently enjoying Pink Martini, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Glen Hansard, Koop, Nouvelle Vague, and what I call the crooners such as Botelli, Buble, Dino, Sinatra, Connick Jr.
Love reading novels about life in other countries/different cultures: Jhumpa Lahiri, Isabel Allende, Amy Tan, Gail Tsukiyama, Lisa See, Khaled Hosseini. My favorite of these being Tsukiyama's "The Samurai's Garden." Love Fannie Flagg, Dan Brown, and science fiction from the oldies but goodies (Bradbury, Asimov) to the current, especially Greg Bear and Alan Dean Foster.
Enjoy just about anything from the 30s to 60s in just about any genre except Westerns. Always look forward to a good sci-fi flick. Will watch any film these actors are in: Ginger Rogers, Kate Hepburn, Norma Shearer, Bette Davis, Jimmy Stewart, Leslie Howard, Gerard Butler, Johnny Depp, Timothy Hutton. A few films I could watch over and over again: Now Voyager, Julie and Julia, Amelie, Dr. Zhivago. Sure am dating myself!
Love Doc Martin and The Booth at the End! Enjoy Criminal Minds, Cold Case, and any of the Law and Orders. And love the old Alfred Hitchcock mystery series as well as Twilight Zone, One Step Beyond, and Star Trek. TCM my favorite network. Loved the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series.
Looking forward to new experiences and acquaintences through swap-bot! I'm a recently retired teacher living in my favorite place on earth, enjoying my sons and their absolutely wonderful wives, trying to catch up with all those things I had to put off while working, walking my dog on the beach and along the creek, and planning to get into better shape, to learn new things daily, and take trips! I love rummage sales, flea markets, and antique shops because I love most things vintage (sappy sentimentalist).
Foods: not crazy about chocolate, peanuts, or mint, but adore vanilla, almond, cherry, coconut, and most anything else. Love most teas and coffee, except mint and rooibos (red tea). No allergies to foods. Very favorite to eat: crepes, savory and sweet; nougat type candy, & divinity!
Colors: in my home are mostly warm Tuscan-type colors--I've tried for a cozy, old English cottage feel.
Old bits of paper ephemera; old handwritten letters/diaries/journals; old laces, ribbons, embroidery, needlepoint, doilies, & trims; any little chenille figure; old sparkly buttons, pins, single earrings; cute greeting cards from 30s - 60s; vintage hankies, fabrics, & millinery flowers; old photos of people; old paper photo holders; rickrack & cotton seam binding; old plastic charms; vintage holiday cards, ornaments, decorations, etc. My favorite shopping is tag sales, church rummage sales & thrift shops -- just love using or repurposing things most people probably toss out! And, I will admit it here, I have trouble throwing anything potentially-useful out; it might be just the thing I need someday!
Animation of any kind; Westerns; modern and streamlined anything; self-help (not that I couldn't use some...);
Hearing about other people's points of view; seeing others' creative works; learning interesting facts and trivia about people, their lives, their home towns and countries.

Cheryl, just had to add that I have just read your profile and your "Always on the lookout for....." could have been written by me. Most everything on your list is in my craft room. Just can't believe that someone else loves old millinery flowers. LOL July 6 is a very good day.
