About Me

last update Jan-17-2020

We made it safe and sound to the USA and are settling in.

40 years old German scrapbooker, mailartist, wool and fabric addict who currently lives in the USA with my husband, two kids and the cats Miss Mimi and Mister Momo.

I am looking forward to have a lot of fun with a lot of interesting swaps and am looking forward to the one you will send to me. I do understand English, French and German.

I always, always, always send out my swaps. So in case you have not received anything please PM me. My swap might have get lost, might have taken longer than expected or might have lost its address label (I had that once or twice, fortunately the letter came back to me and I was able to resend it).

I pledge to rate. I have a list, tracking my received swaps carefully and the ratings I get, too. (I am German...I love lists...). So if I have not rated you I have not received your swap yet. I will try to communicate with you. Always!

Favorite Crafts

I really have a lot of fun with everything fabric related. Especially 1930's repro and contemporary fabrics. I love polka dots, stars and stripes but tiny flowers are cute, too. I enjoy colors like red, green and light blue, light brown and yellow. Aqua and red is a great colour combo, too. I am a huge fan of Moda fabrics. But no batiks, please and please choose 100% cotton. No acrylics or acrylic blends. You can send scraps, too. But please at least 3"x3" in size.

I love scrapbooking, photography and art, too. Scrapbooking-wise I enjoy dies, stickers, labels and buttons. Project Life is great, too. Think tiny here. I love vintage Epherma (old playing cards, childbook pages, library tags etc.). But there is a difference in between junk and vintage.

I collect fountain pens like Lamy AL-Stars and other brands. So I love inks for those as well as Stationery to put them into use. I love lettersets in bright colors and with fancy art. But please do not send single sheets without envelopes.

For postcard-swaps: I love vintage-style cards, postcards with picture book illustrations or with funky, colorful art on it. I do love maps on cards and cards with encouraging quotes in English, too. If a swap asks for blank tourist postcards I would be more than happy if you could substitute them with non-touristy ones. It just don't make any sense to me to have cards from places I have never been to. Only exception: Map Cards.

For Washi Swaps: I love vintage themes, orange is the color I have not a lot of, feathers, extra wide, flowers, stars, stripes, mail related (i. e. Stamps, airmail, pens...), ABCs, animals (especially foxes and birds), cities. Alain Gree.

I do knit (organic fibers, no acrylics or acrylic blends) and do embroidery (love Cosmo, DCM etc)

I am a Crossfit athlete and love this sport. It gives me lots of energy and strength. So everything related with Crossfit is well appreciated here, too.

Purple and neon-colours are awful! I really don't like Kawaii, scary things or horror.

I cannot stand the smell of smoke. And please don't send any magazine clippings or napkins. I have no use for them, sorry. Whole magazine pages with lovely, eye-catching graphics are fine though.

YUMMIE: I really love chocolate, biscuits and jellybabies. Coffee and juice is great. No tea please. I think curry is an extraordinary spice. Cherry-taste is really great as well as liquorice. Coconut and vanilla is nice to smell. Everything sour is well appreciated here, sweets-wise. I love indish and italian-food. No MSG here (see below).

BOOOH: How horrible is banana...urgs...I don't like to smell and to taste it gettinggossebumps Aniseed mints are horrible as well. Green tea isn't mine as well as fruit-tea combinations like plum-date-taste. I don't like strawberry. Coke and Sodas are terrible.

!!!:I am allergic to grapefruit and to monosodium glutamate (MSG) / Mononatriumglutamat (flavour enhancer) !!!

I wear black and white, red, blue and dark green. I only wear socks with stripes. I wear an US 8.5 and an EU 38 size -sockwise and a size L in clothes.

I lovelovelove ouchless hairbands.

Because I have really sensitive skin I prefere not to swap bath and beauty products. Neither for me nor for the family.

My children are nine and four years old. They are both boys.

We do not use plastic toys but love everything Waldorf and Montessori related.

We do like jigsaw-puzzle and love to craft (think of colour books, drawing etc), listen to music and audiobooks.

Please choose nothing Disney related. Except for Star Wars (the bigger one is a huge fan)

The kids wear organic fabrics, cotton, real wool (no acrylic or acrylic blends), only. We prefer green over blue and love red and orange (the older one) and grey (the little one).

Swapping with me

I always try to turn your swap items into something extra lovely. Therefore I read your profile closely and try to match all the items I send out with your likes. I always put a little extra in my swaps. Just because it makes me happy and hopefully you will love that, too.

Are you interested in a private swap? Awesome!

Shot me a DM and we can figure out if we can find something we both are happy to swap.

A wishlist? Here you are:

I love fabrics (100% cotton) in all colours. But please think tiny when it comes to the pattern on it. No batics, please.

Quilting patterns you do not need any more

Scrapbooking/planner/PL items but please no eyelets. And patternwise think tiny, too

Sticker (preferable for Postcards or scrapbooking, but cute ones are great, too). I love stamp shaped ones!!! Small ones to fit on a postcard. Flakes. Vintage, animal, flower, stars and heart themed are amazing. I love gold, too.

Wool (no acrylics or acrylic blends)

Rubber and clear stamps and inks (well wrapped, please). Used but cleaned is absolutely fine.

Epherma and vintage items (stamps, playing cards, book pages with illustrations, children book pages). Labels. Tickets. Library Cards. Book pages out of children's books.

Sweets (especially the sour ones) and bubble gum, LittleL loves milk chocolate.

Washi (see my wishlist above)

Jigsaws with 100 up to 200 pieces (boyish motives, no Disney)

Matchbox cars

Foxes are my favourite animals

Double pointed knitting needles (wood, bambus, size 2.5mm)

Cute measuring tapes (inch or cm) (I collect them)

Address Label sticker (always good to have them on hand), but please not plain white ones

Postcards (see above for interests), blank only.

Everything Abraham Lincoln related (postcards, vintage envelope seals, maps etc.)

Tags, Labelsticker, Library Cards, vintage labels

Vintage magazine cut outs

Everything Tim Holtz

I don't miss any episode of the german telenovela "Rote Rosen" (red roses) and have a lot of fun watching TV series via Netflix (I.e. SOA, homeland, Mad Men, House of cards...). Beside of this I do not watch any television.

Comment: Thank you for the beautiful card. I love the unicorn sticker and how you used washi tape on the envelope then used a pretty floral diecut in the card. You really are using up your supplies! I still do subscribe to all three Stickii Subs and so far each month I just go through those and the ones from tuck ins. I have a few people I can share with and some I set aside for sticker swaps. I most certainly do not have a shortage of stickers. I do still make journals. The most I've had premade at once was 4 and I am back down to one. I like using the ones I make. I usually use them for swaps. I have not made any for sale an so far no one has asked for one in a private swap. I do hope you get back to journaling. It is a great way to use up all those little bits of fun that come your way. Thank you again for the card and stickers!

Comment: Thank you so much for the teas and stickers.I cannot wait to try out the tea. You have amazing handwriting! I have not plan too many trips for 2020 yet. I just returned from Vegas yesterday and I am planning on short ski trips in February plus a trip to Disney in the Spring. I am just winging it as I go. Australia is still on the list but I do not know when I will go. I actually went to Savannah, GA in the summer and it was humid! It was a nice getaway with some of my girlfriends. I actually stopped writing in my journal at Savannah. Guess I could not keep up with it anymore but I am going the "One Line A Day" journal. Hope you have fun on your vacations!

oooh! Our cats have the same name kind of! Our cats name is Schmidt, nicknamed Moodles or Mister Mister and my daughter calls him Momo ( from moodles I guess). I thought that was kind of a fun coincidence since it is not a very common name..I think!
