I am the mother of a beautiful 8 year old daughter who is changing the world. She inspires me every day!
I am also fortunate to live with two cats and a dog.
I love to dance, play flute, firetwirl, belly laugh, have long and juicy conversations, watch the clouds, sing to the rain, eat gorgeous vegan food, felt little woolen creatures, play with crystals, stare into the fire and camp whenever I possibly can, beaching, love my work, doing enviro and social justice stuff (activism), writing, karate (Goju Ryu), gardening, bla bla...
Things that I love are: crystals, beads (especially gem or wooden or other earthy type ones like shells or seeds), little trinkets (but I don't really like plastic), photos, random weird things, stories (true or make believe...they are all real to me), natural fibres and beautiful fabrics, beautiful journals, ... I love old things that are given a new life (reduce, reuse recycle type stuff)
I decorate my toilet with postcards and cool cards and photos.
I am passionate about my community, friends and family. I am blessed to be surrounded by so many inspirational, beautiful and creative souls who make my life such a pleasure...full of magic.
I love to learn about different cultures and ways of being in the world. I am passionate about human rights, in particular for, women and children, Indigenous peoples, and asylum seekers and refugees. I work in an organisation which works to empower and support women and children who have experienced domestic/family violence during crisis and beyond. I work mostly with the children. They teach me so much and help me on my own journey...I am grateful for the gift they give me in allowing me to be a part of their lives. They motivate me. I am also a student, (studying a Bachelor of Social Work) I am very passionate about the empowerment of women, particularly around the time of birthing their children. I am passionate about souls having the support and respect they deserve when they enter into this earth life. I love images of women and godesses, especially birthing ones.
I am passionate about protecting the earth's environment and animals from expoitation and harm.I am vegetarian and mostly still vegan.
I want to connect more with my creativity and surround myself with beautiful and meaningful things to match the beautiful and meaningful experiences. I like it when things have a story behind them, then every time I look at them I get to feel richer because the object is bigger than itself.....just like us.
Ani Difranco...lots and lots and lots of ani..., The Waifs, Xavier Rudd, Kimya Dawson, The George and Andi Band, Heidi Elva, The Be Good Tanya's, Jez, Jason Mraz, Loren, Spearhead and Michael Franti, Ben Harper, The Beautiful Girls, Carus, Tori Amos, Stringmansassy, K'naan, Blue King Brown.......etc
I like world music, anything with drumming or anything that is funky and good to dance to.
I like to play flute, but I'm just beginning to learn, so haven't reached rockstar status jut yet.
Currently reading 'Eat Pray Love' by Elizabeth Gilbert Recently read the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel...so good...so so good I like Paulo Coelho's books. Have just read his latest book "Brida"....was great... Other favorites include: Anam Cara, Maya Angelou's books, Tracey Harding, .....so many...so many....I like autobiographies, or stories that have a strong social justice element, or spiritual tales...something that gets my soul, inspires and motivates me. I love children's books. Dr Suess is a favourite.
