Hi! I'm fairly new to swap-bot but I have swapped online before - It's a lot of fun - I like swapping all kinds of little crafts and supplies, especially crochet squares, ATCs and inchies, and dotees - and I love swapping postcards with crafters all over the world.
I love most music, but mainly rock (classic and indie) Too many bands to list but some of my faves are David Bowie; Neil Young; The Tragically Hip; REM; Radiohead; Interpol; Elbow; Super Furry Animals; Doves; Stone Roses; Echo and the Bunnymen etc...
Favourite books, again too many to list - used to read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy, now mostly non-fiction, biographies and of course craft books!
A few of my favourite movies : Casablanca, A Matter of Life and Death, West Side Story, The Commitments, Grosse Point Blank, The Railway Children, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Still Crazy, and many more...
TV shows: All time faves: Dr Who, Firefly, Angel, The West Wing, Northern Exposure, Due South, Arrested Development, Blackadder, Father Ted, Spaced, Black Books, Mighty Boosh etc... nowadays, mostly documentaries, Mythbusters, also Bones, NCIS, CSI, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds. But I don't watch much TV ;)
Crafts: I love making jewellery, crochet, small sewing, cross stitch, ATCs and inchies - and I always like to try new crafts - with varying degrees of success : ) I'm trying to improve my knitting skills at the moment!
When I'm not crafting I will be reading or out walking my dogs - with my ipod! Or, you know, working and other boring stuff. : )
MY FAVOURITE THINGS
My fave colours are lime green, olive green, khaki, all shades of green - also brown and blue, black/white. I like vintage stuff, recycled and repurposed things are great! Also miniature, tiny anything!
Patterns - I like spots and stripes, batiks, paisley and peace-signs; heart shapes and stylised flowers; bright jewel-colours on black; kitschy sci-fi motifs like robots and flying saucers; birds, trees and leaves; anything to do with Nature and all birds and animals especially ducks, whales, dogs and guinea pigs.
I collect ducks (models, images, stuffies etc.)
I like to collect postcards from all over the world, and fun souvenirs from tourist attractions, e.g. pencils, erasers, snowglobes and especially squashed pennies! I can't resist a penny-flattening machine and whenever I see one I get a few to swap : )
STUFF I LIKE TO RECEIVE :D
Handmade or drawn things!
ATCs/Inchies
Dotees
Squashed pennies
Craft supplies - any bits of pretty fabric, papers, stickers, ribbon and lace, brads, unusual butttons and beads, yarn and fibres - all much appreciated.
Interesting glass beads/charms/jewellery supplies
Postcard of your town, or some local natural place.
Anything with DUCKS
Lipbalm (minty!)
Nice scented tealight candles (not musk or lavender)
Incense
Mix CD of music from where you live - I love to hear new things!
Friendly note :D
SWAPPING - I will always send packages, so please let me know if something has not arrived (bear in mind I am in the UK, mail to the USA and further afield can take anything from 5 days to a few weeks!)
I like to put a hand-written note in with my packages (and love to receive them!) - so I apologise for my quite messy handwriting which is hard to read sometimes :)
Comments
Welcome to European Swappers!
It's nice to 'meet' you! :) I hope you are enjoying your swaps here. It's my first comment swap and I have to say it's a pretty cool idea. Definitely positive incentive to look at other people's profiles. And who doesn't like a nice compliment every once in awhile? hehe :) You sound very friendly and I hope you have fun here! I saw some really cute retro robot prints the other day and your profile made me think of them. Enjoy your day. :)

Hola! heart shapes and sci fi motifs, sounds great to me, its something new in my life, sci fi, my husband loves it, and my son loves robots !!! also polka dots. I have not gotten into inchies yet, and honestly don´t know if they are different from atc´s??? I will take a look online. Enjoy the swap bot experience!!! and see you soon in swap:).
Greetings,
inchies are something i'm interested in doing. Do you create the 1X1 square yourself or buy them? i've seen some pretty interesting places on line that sell a bag or box of squares to make it easy. Do you mount yours on other things like cards or do freestanding inchies? I'm a nature lover myself...quite fey actually ~smile~
