I am married and I have one daughter, Alaina who was born in September 2008. I also have a kitty named Nigel. I am a junior high teacher (math and American history/govt)., but I am currently on a leave of absence to be at home with the baby. My husband, Erin and I first met when we were in 7th grade! I enjoy traveling with my hubby, anything that relates to the ocean life/beach,reading magazines, history documentaries and paper crafts of all kinds. I enjoy snuggling on the couch with a cat to read a book or watch a movie. ALthough, I usually fall asleep doing both of these activities. I love my ipod, playing with Alaina, taking papercrafting classes, hot chocolate & chai tea, caramel & mint chocolate, going out to dinner, seeing live performances...symphony, rock concerts, broadway musicals, sitting on the porch when its cool, yoga, hiking and walking for exercise. I also am completely addicted to swapping & Artist Trading Cards...they are so fun to make & going to the mailbox is fun again. I love the ocean...fish, sea creatures, mermaids, pirates, scuba diving...I am a marine biologist wannabe! I love things that remind me of being a kid...Muppets, going to the zoo, ghost stories, ALice & Wonderland, sidewalk chalk, anything Disney, Sea World, Halloween. I enjoy cooking and being in the kitchen, I love to try new foods. Finding and trying new recipes is fun! and I love making and receiving handmade gifts. My favorite animals are cats (big & small), sea turtles, manatees, whales, sharks, sea otters, elephants, giraffes, and bunny rabbits. Please do not send anything considered kawaii, I am not a big fan of it. Thanks!
P.S. BETWEEN MAY AND AUGUST, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING THAT CAN MELT, I LIVE IN ARIZONA WHERE IT CAN GET TO 110 DEGREES! THANKS!!
U2, Dave Matthews Band,Dire Straits, The Samples, adult contemporary rock (Billy Joel, Elton John, Phil Collins, etc.),1940s swing music, new artists like Snow Patrol & Corrine Rae Bailey, celtic music (Enya is my fave), Sarah McLachlan, motown tunes that make ya wanna dance, and 50s/60s "malt shop" tunes, soundtracks, Michael Buble, James Blunt. I prefer happy and upbeat to sad and mopey. Although, if the lyrics are phenomenal, I don't mind a sad tune or 2.
