Hi everyone! Due to a very persistent pen pal, I have made a swap bot account! I am excited to begin. I just finished my Bachelor's degree in Human Development. I plan on attending grad school in the fall, but plans change so you never know.
Some things that I am interested in are snail mailing, making Blackout poetry, making my own handmade envelopes, reading, playing video games, and traveling. I also am studying French, so anything to do with Paris or the French language is perfect for me!!!
On a more personal note, I would like to share this with the SB community. I have suffered from depression for the past 8 years, and was recently diagnosed with a general anxiety disorder. I sometimes get worried about what other people will think of me. I would just like to have a good experience and swap with people that can share the love of snail mailing, postcards, ATCs, etc. that I enjoy sending and receiving.
Silverstein, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, Echosmith, Silversun Pickups, The Black Keys, Of Monsters And Men, Saosin, City And Color, Saint Raymond, A Day To Remember, I Prevail, Foo Fighters etc. I listen to a lot of indie and alternative music, but really love any type of rock music and some pop.
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
How It Ends by Laura Weiss
Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
The Hunger Games series
Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Forest Of Hands And Teeth by Carrie Ryan
Such A Pretty Girl by Laura Weiss
It's Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
My favorite poem is "A Dream Within A Dream" by Edgar Allan Poe.
Criminal Minds, Supernatural, American Horror Story, Cutthroat Kitchen, How To Get Away With Murder, Orange Is The New Black, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, etc.
Absolutely anything Batman! My favorite characters are Harley Quinn and The Joker.
Old Hollywood glamour (think Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe)
Any ephemera, would really love some from Tim Holtz' Idea-ology collection
Stationary pages/notepads - always need new paper for my pen pal letters!
Stickers - anything on my likes list preferred but I'm not picky with these
Tea: English Breakfast, Vanilla Chai, and fruit teas just no Green Tea please. Must be factory sealed.
Washi tape samples
Sentimental Circus memo sheets
Anything related to Paris, France or the French language.
Any inspiring quotes.
Postcards - State/city, state maps, foreign countries, animal, superhero/comic book, beach scenes
Alice In Wonderland
Anything with whales, penguins, giraffes or pugs on it
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Any postcards (could really use some non-touristy ones for my Geeky PC Swap series) and I will love you forever!
Book pages in English. I prefer ones that have love or strength as the theme, but honestly any work. I use these for my Blackout poems!
My grandmother really loves giraffes and pugs, so anything with those on them would be greatly appreciated and would make both her day and mine.
Any stickers for my Erin Condren Life Planner would be great.
Anything from my Likes list would be fine but here are a few more ideas:
Adventure Time characters
Mario Bros. characters, preferably Daisy
hot air balloons
pin-up girls from the 40s/50s
The Cheshire cat
Edgar Allan Poe or an ATC based on his poem, "A Dream Within A Dream"
Pittsburgh Penguins / hockey
ANYTHING GLITTERY. I really don't like glitter, please don't send it to me!
I'm also not really into Kawaii stuff except for Sentimental Circus.
Don't like puffy stickers either.
I don't like plain green tea.
Another thing I REALLY dislike is when people spell my name wrong, especially my first name. My name is not Laura or Lauren, it's Laurel. Please do your best to pay attention to the spelling, as I would do the same for you. Thank you!
If you feel as though the swap I send to you is not up to par, please message me before giving me a 1 or 3 and I will do my best to make things right.
I am beginning to understand that things happen with mail and sometimes when things are postmarked days after the swap ends, it's not always the person's fault because the post office can be odd at times. I no longer think that being late on a swap warrants a 3, unless the person is chronically late and doesn't care. However, if I believe you didn't meet the requirements on a swap and give you a 3, please talk with me about it and we can work something out. When I say talk, I mean it too. If you start sending rude PMs or harassing me about the rating and treating me badly, I will definitely not work with you on giving you a better rating.
This being said, let's work together and have a fun time swapping!
