About Me

Back from my trip, it was so incredible!!! I am happy to be home with my hubby and kitty men though, and (fingers crossed) hopefully I will have a good job soon. Back on the 'bot, and ready to swap ;-)

FYI - I will be away on a fabulous European vacation with my Mom July 8-21, and probably won't be on here for a couple days before and after the trip. I have sent out everything that is due before then, but please be patient if you are waiting for a rating. I will not be able to rate if anything arrives July 7th or later until I get back home (about July 24/25). I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Check out my flickr page for pictures of me, my family, my crafts and thrift finds!

I try to rate when I receive, I would appreciate the same courtesy from others. But life happens--I know, I'm certainly not perfect either--if you think it's been too long please send me a poke via PM and I'll do the same for you!

I love to use recycled packaging for my swaps whenever I can, though I do look in profiles in case of allergies or if you feel squicky about that sort of thing. I recycle A LOT--I love to use old ads, magazines, catalogs, calenders, wrapping paper, etc. for all sorts of paper crafts. I do send out recycled ATC back too where appropriate but try to check profile in case you're not into that kinda thing.

I love to reduce, reuse and recycle! I love thrift stores and garage sales. Please don't be afraid to send me gently used items that you think I will love.

I love to read, craft, cook and snuggle with my husband and my cat. I am crafty, frugal, a bit crazy and definately a neo-hippy of sorts, without going so far as to be able to give up on bacon or the dollar stores. ^_^

I am OK with most religious stuff, I believe in God and I am spiritual--but in general I would prefer it to be non-denominational type stuff.

But honestly, I'm sure I would appreciate any small piece of art you've created, be it written, drawn, painted, scupted in clay or felted, crocheted or sewn(or anything else I forgot!).

I'm sure I'll think of more to add here in the future!

Comment: Thanks for the thoughtful note and the bookmark! I love the art, the blood spatters, and the tassel. The book I've been reading is a novel with scifi elements called Luminarium and I've let it fall by the wayside... this should inspire me to pick it up again!
Response: Ah so glad you like it! Hope it inspires you to read more, I haven't been reading enough lately either <3 I had a lot of fun making it.

Comment: Wow thanks so much! Sounds great, can't wait to try the tea and recipe!
Response: You're welcome!! I wanna share this tip with you too--I actually had a breakthrough with the popovers the other day, and I think it was because I made them barefoot on Hobbit Day!! Haha. (But seriously!) Just add the pats of butter in the muffin tin, not in the batter--they totally popped and the inside was creamy and amazing. ^_^

Comment: Love the little flogger! I have a thing for textures and the flogger and the background make a cool combination. Did you cut this from a greeting card? (I do that, too!) If so, great way to recycle! Thanks!
Response: Yes the purple velvet background is totally from a greeting card! You may see it for Valerian as well to keep up the theme ;-) I had fun with that for sure, definitely a personal connection, ;-)

Response: Oh I am so glad you like it! A light bulb went off in my head when I remembered I had red fleece and it wouldn't fray, and I found the letter beads too. ^_^ Hope some of the books spark some interest, tried to give a varied list (skewed toward dystopia and fantasy though I know). Glad you like the earrings, I have been trying to pare down my costume jewelry. ^_^ <3

Comment: Thank you for the ATC. I like your version of Hades, it made me laugh! Though I don't think I'd want to visit it, either!
Response: Glad you enjoyed it, I had some strong inspiration after signing up for the swap and got right into it. (I remembered this art project from school where we created hell creatures from magazine cutouts and I added fish heads to other creatures and it was creepy and cool!)

Skyrim is awsome!!!!! I didn't get it until it was out for about a week and by the time I finally activated it and downloaded the update, I was about to climb the walls! My two teenagers are also playing it so I barely get a chance to get on the game. I'm only level 9 right now. I'm a Breton focusing on my warrior skills right now but eventually I want to focus more on the alchemy and smithing. I really love the new elements of Skyrim (especially dual-casting which I can't do yet). I am finding though that I keep using Oblivion keyboard controls as some of them have changed with Skyrim, but I am completely loving this game. Do you have the guidebook? I do and it's awesome but it's as thick as a phonebook!

I hope it gets here safely too! Will let you know when I do (:
