I'm a natural night owl, although I do really enjoy my days-especially the occasional winter ones that hint at Spring.
I like to drink coffee and stay up late listening to Meddle by Pink Floyd. My neighbors don't mind because they're all dogs.
I recently moved back to the midwest from Alaska. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with myself. My mother informed me today that I was happier in Alaska.
I have two Weimaraners that I think the world of and a cat, Zane, who likes to tease the Weims. The Weims and I compete in all kinds of stuff-obedience, show, rally, agility, SAR, hunting, tracking... As you can tell, we share many interests, but bookmaking and learning to sew are not included. My baby Weim is coming to live with me next week and I'm feeling a bit out of sorts with all things related to crafts and arts- I only have puppy on the brain!
I love roaming around at flea-markets, nasty junk stores, the local thrifts, used book stores, trails, mountains, boats, islands...
This summer I plan on getting a fishing license and try to catch enough fish to freeze for the winter.
I love the idea of Urban gardening and farming.
I enjoy swap-bot because it's always a surprise as to how your partner interprets the swap--and interpretation is what life is about, right?
I've posted some of my previous swaps on my blog if you're interested in checking some of them out...
If you're hosting a private swap and think that I would be interested, please pm me!
Yo La Tengo, The Beatles, Rilo Kiley, Os Mutantes, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Johanna Newsome, Os Mutantes, Velvet Underground,The Kinks, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Feist, Iron and Wine, the Darljeeling Limited soundtrack, The Ditty Bops, Viva Voce, Ida, My Bloody Valentine...

Old Dr. Who, Battlestar Gallactica, Ms. Marple, Torchwood, Planet Earth series, Stargate Atlantis, StarGate SG-1, Old Star-Trek, anything with travel in the name, The Venture Bros., Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends
ATC's, making postcards, zines, photographies, bookmaking, cyanotype, paper anything, collage, simple sewing, stuffies, cardmaking, making prints, turning junk into something, shrines, shadowboxes, mini theater sets, and I'm sure there are many more that I haven't tried yet.
Is anybody else obsessed with Happy Owl Glassworks or Little Otsu?
I was born on the Day of the Dead and really enjoy authentic Day of the Dead skeletons, but really, I like skeletons of all kinds. When I was little I used to bring skulls home from the woods and barns and bleach them to make them white and a bit cleaner. My mother wasn't too thrilled about it, but my grandmother thought the world of it! With that said, I also enjoy different languages, handmade anything, nature, animals, foxes, homemade boxes, biology, black and white, questions, finding four-leaf clovers, literature or poetry related, brainy humor, identifying flowers, weeds, edible plants, folk with a twist, worldly items and thoughts, imagined creatures, vintage odds and ends, deep reds, dark coffees, browns, earthy tones (but I also like a little zing, think Marie Antoinette), maps, dark humor, ideas and their connections, weird Kawaii, unique paper, odd embellishments, block printing, accordion books, Japanese this and that, unusual photographs or photographs made unusually.
Too much pink, Lisa Frank-esque, pastel, trying to convert me through an ATC, Disney anything, foam shaped animals or other things, dog stickers or stationary (unless its Weimaraner related or handmade), scrapbook themed paper and most store bought embellishments.
The Time Travelers Wife, The Botany of Desire, The Animal Series, random artist books, zines, Adorn, Whole Dog Journal, His Dark Materials series, poetry by Margret Atwood, research articles on Humpback Whales or Orca, anything by Diane Ackerman (A Natural History of the Senses), Craft and Make magazines, and many many more...
My goal this year is to make a zine a month. I would love to trade with you if you're interested...
