Ah, people. Always a few bad ones spoiling things for the rest of us! A few days' worth of mail was stolen out of our community mailbox recently, and I'm afraid some of my swaps may have been part of that theft. If you have not received my swap and it should have been there in the last 2 or 3 weeks, please let me know and I will resend to you right away.

Promise: I will always send out my swaps, and always rate. If for some reason you do not receive your swap in a timely manner, please contact me so I may resolve the situation with you.

So, on to who I am. Well.... I LOVE to laugh. I sleep too much or can't sleep at all. I have an amazing husband, 2 insane cats, a codependent dog, and a box turtle. I'm interested in the truth in all things, and I tend to think to much. I love words-- currently working as a freelance writer and editor. Bellydance runs through my soul but I don't do it as much now, as I'm focusing on grad school =(

Nature, art, and wild animals put me at peace. Well, domestic animals do too I guess. (When are they going to make "March of The Llamas", anyway?) Favorite animals are llamas, pufferfish, dolphins, and anything weird like the platypus. In fact with most anything, my rule is: The weirder, the better! So don't be afraid to send me crazy or bizarre stuff =)

I am working on my Master's degree in transpersonal psychology.

I have an Etsy business making wool hair ties that look like mini-dreadlocks, another for cards and papergoods, and I collect perfume oils (like BPAL). Yes, my apartment is full of wool, paper, and oil, and probably the most flammable property in southern Arizona.

Favorite Books

Frank Herbert, Tom Robbins, Clive Barker, Lama Surya Das, Dan Simmons, Neil Gaiman, and funny books like Calvin and Hobbes, Get Fuzzy, and lolcat collections.

Favorite Movies

Dead Man, Boondock Saints, Amelie, Sirens, Fantastic Planet, So I Married An Axe Murderer, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Thin Man, Totoro & Spirited Away

Favorite Television

Lots of shows that aren't on any more that are much better commercial-free on DVD (viva la Netflix!), Turner Classic Movies, Dr. Who

Favorite Crafts

I love working with raw wool and shiny fibers, and also paper. Mmmmm... paper. (Love BasicGrey, Imaginisce, BoBunny, My Mind's Eye stuff [which are paper and embellishment companies].) I'm a big fan of collage. I'm really more of a designer than an artist so I like to play with elements and see how things work together.

Favorite Scents

Right now I'm looking for grapefruit scents because I'm so tired all the time! I generally love dragonsblood, lemongrass, autumn spices, lavender, lily, apple, vanilla (although I'm picky about my vanilla, it has to be really good), and honey. My favorite perfumes come from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, Good Judy, and The Body Shop. Not a fan of heavy rose, clove, powdery notes, or "dirty" notes (earth, tobacco, leather, etc).

Favorite Music

Beck, Aphex Twin, Depeche Mode, VNV Nation, Iris, Dead Can Dance, Delerium, Conjure One, Royksopp, Balkan Beat Box, Talvin Singh, Bjork, Living End, Juno Reactor, Fischerspooner, Jane's Addiction, Erasure, old U2, Police, Zeppelin, DNB/chillout/EBM/trance/breaks/darkwave/industrial/oh my! I also severely miss WHFS circa 1992. Oh, and as a bellydancer, I LOVE world music, particularly middle eastern, east Indian, and Roma/Balkan. The only things I don't tend to like, or own much of, are country and gangsta rap.

Comment: LOVE the card. I am glad you told me those were magnets. So cute!! What kind of pen did you use to write on the black paper? I always have trouble writing on black. Thanks! :)
Response: Thank you, I'm glad you like the card! I use pigment ink opaque pens to write on black. They're expensive but they're SO cool. This particular set is called "Writer" by the company EK Success, and you can actually get them at Wal-Mart, at least in my town. At craft/art stores you can usually buy opaque pigment pens (sometimes called journaling pens too) individually.

I'm so sorry about the black and white handmade postcard swap. the only other times I've sent out postcards like that have been international and I guess the post office automatically figured the weight and thickness into it. They never told me it would cost more domestically, too. I would be happy to send you something else to make up for the lack of postage :[

OMG - what an AMAZING September Wishlist package! I just cannot get over how generous you are - and everything is just perfect for us!

My son immediately grabbed the candy, and we listened to the music right away too. The variegated thread is amazing - just what I was looking for! The craft fabric is perfect for some Christmas projects that I have been thinking about - embroidered Christmas ornaments. The stickers are very cute too. You can never have enough colored pencils - Thank you for everything - it is all so appreciated! :-D

Thank you to my Arizona neighbor for the awesome surprises for Wishlist. Thanks for spoiling me and making my day. :)

Hello!

I am so looking forward to the "try something new swap". :D I like trying new things (I am thinking either altered domino for this one or matchboxes... I haven't done either!) What a wonderful idea for a swap!

Sending hugs!

I'm happy for you to scan the postcard, however, did you see the note that I am not the artist of the Buddha image. I'm just the re-user and glue-r ;)

What's "transpersonal psychology" exactly? Sounds very interesting from just those two words!

I'd love to do a private swap, I have no clue how to do this and must rely upon your swapping knowledge on how-to!

Hello :)

I just wanted to stop by and invite you to the "Shop Swap & Blog" USA Swap!

Leave A Comment Swap: I enjoyed reading about you! I like pufferfish (pufferfishes?) too. I've got to say I agree with you on your music dislikes for the most part. I don't like country but bluegrass is growing on me (probably because I love Celtic music, from which it is descended). You're obviously an interesting person - I am glad I got your name in this swap!
