I am an eclectic artist... i do it all... paint sew, rubber stamp, quilt, make jewelry. I love stuff... I really enjoy reusing things my favorite haunts are thrift shops for cool clothing to revamp or alter, and flea markets for quirky items. I am hopelessly an unorganized hoarder.. still dillusional enough to think i will eventually get it together. While my projects are often large...The work space on my desk is usually about 4 inches by 4 inches!
Contemporary Christian and just about anything i can actually understand the words. I even like the show tunes and when cleaning the house Doris Day! ( i feel more like June Cleaver then)
Misc stuff: I am allergic to pineapple..I love charms of anything, glass beads, vintage fabrics and bits of glitzy fabrics to add to my crazy quilts, images of women on paper or fabric..vintage themes of cherries, bluebirds, scottie dogs, mermaids seahorses, pin up girls and sailors, also... red tomato pin cushions! older the better... I have just discovered my latent passion for bunnies... i have always loved seeing them in the yard but lately I have grown very fond of images of realistic bunnies... perhaps its due to the "year of the Hare"
I love the movies nearly anything aside from sci fi and monster movies...We are a big movie family and collect movie theater things.. like i have lots of items that would be used to decorate the refreshment stand... Pop corn containers, boxes that look like candy boxes just fun stuff...remember the dancing hot dogs? that sort of fun stuff.
I have become in my 40s.. a reality show junkie... Survivor, amazing race... project runway.... and anything regarding decorating, and or collecting and selling junk... and don\'t we all think we could host our own HGTV show? I watch way too much tv.. mostly for the "company" as I am home alone all day... playing in my art studio or doing some clothing revamping in my sewing room between loads of laundry and figuring what to make for dinner
So many... I really enjoying just about anything but I usually tweek things and do it my own way... I would love to learn to do glass blowing and welding but for now... everything else. I especially like remaking thrift store clothing into one of a kind clothing... I am sure my artsy clothing would not go over well on WHAT NOT TO WEAR but I love being the eclectic wild woman. Kimonos over my black leggings and black T , or using parts of mens ties to make a breezy rich fringe to lengthen a jean jacket that i have appliqued a vintage needle point pillow panel on the back.... I tend to be attracted to all things ethnic or handmade that i can craft with ( not decor..Thats all american 40's 50s fun)newspapers in foreign languages, cool embroidered bits vintage magazines... I love to embellish anything... so buttons, ribbons, game pieces, beads of all kinds... unique paper or bits of cool fabric... lately...my sewing room despite my colorful wardrobe created there.. has been gaining a pink and mossy shabby chic look..

Hi Betsy,
Here is a pic of the wonderful dotee you sent me. I love it.
Hooked on Dotees
Let me tell you how much I love my new girls. They were the first dotees that I have gotten so last night, I went out with my two friends. My one friend was boring the other with her tea room stories so I said let me tell you about my hobby so I can bore you too. I told them all about my little dotees and then took them out. They were in love. They also loved the blue one the best, there's something about her that just draws you in. If they were real people, Miss Blue would be your best friend but Miss Purple would make sure you are always having a good time! I can't wait to show someone else.
Thought I'd leave you a longer note here in response to the rating you left me.
Thank you! Especially that you passed on the comment from your husband. I had the idea for my ATC really early, but took me a while to gather up the courage to start the "hand-drawn" part of the hand-drawn ATC!
I went to a production of HMS Pinafore this afternoon - the church I attend right now does a Gilbert and Sullivan production every year as a fund-raiser. My head is spinning with colours and shapes from the costumes and sets. And what is it about sailor uniforms that is so appealing? It's just navy and white, right?
Anyway, glad you enjoyed the ATC and look forward to swapping with you again some day!
Just stalking by..to say HI!! working on my letter to update you on my recent finds ~.~
Grrrr, this computer doesn't like me very much. As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted by technology is that I got your second Masquerade ATC today. I thought you wouldn't be able to top the last one you sent me, but I was wrong. Your ATC tickled me so much. I showed it to both my coworker and my boss and they absolutely loved it! You have a great sense of humor :) If I could, I'd give you a million hearts :D
I got your second Masq
Yes, that Cute Woodland Creatures ATC was intended to be a hedgehog but it does look like a porcupine so I'm not offended, LOL. Glad I was able to provide a trip down memory lane, spikey or not. ;)
Oh haha. Don't worry about anything old school,I just like receiving different things, pieces of different artists and people. I think they liked it because it was cute, but I like the layering of different materials, as well as the balance, colors and composition. The zentangles are popular drawings for ATCs because they are easy to do for some people and are a way to calm the mind if repetitive work soothes you. If you need me to go into detail about zentangles I can send you a message about them =) As for collage, save your mags! I tend to buy things (textbooks, art books) with plans to collage and then end up just keeping them because they're just too nice to cut up. Try saving up bits and pieces from "extras" and collage from that if you want to try. I think I've only actually done collage ATC's twice now.... good ones take a fair amount of work =P
just wanted to wish you an early happy birthday!!! live it up & party like a rockstar! :) mary ann
