About Me

As far as art-making goes, I enjoy printmaking, book binding, tattooing, painting, film photography, attempts to make music, knitting, learning to sew, mail art, and documentation.

I spend a lot of time thinking about dreams, states of reality, place, passing time & changing seasons, love, coincidences, my lionhead bunny, conjoined twins & other seemingly mythical things.

If you’d like to exchange mail (letters, packages, art, etc.) let me know!

Favorite Books

I spend a lot of time reading. Tom Robbins is my favorite author. Poetry books are great too, like: Charles Bukowski, Tom Phillips, John Ashberry, etc.

I’m a fan of zines! My favorite are personal zines, written like journals.

Favorite Music

Indie rock or heart breaking girl vocals. Like, Scout Nibblett, Thao Nguyen, Cat Power, and Jena Malone. Elliot Smith and Sunset Rubdown. Lately I've been listening to Bon Iver, Phosphorescent Pride, and The Beatles at bed time when I'm laying there not moving. I like open mic nights and the sounds these kids in Tacoma make best.

Favorite Movies

Film is really important to me. Indie films are my favorite- ones with layers, I like to discover and interpret when viewing. I’ve recently sparked a love affair with French films. A few favorites: Sans Soleil, Triplets of Belleville, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ghost World, Blame It On Fidel, Waking Life.

NO, thanks.

Please don't send me store bought postcards(--with the exception of ones that have art themed images, like the ones you find at museums). I prefer handmade things for anything swap related.

Also, please don't send those printed postage strips on mail. I collect stamps so that's an important part of mail. If you ask the post office they can affix real stamps. Thanks!

Comment: oh i absolutley adore her! I am in awe of your patience to string those teenytiny seed beeds...! It is just perfect for me, thank you SO much! Can't wait to wear it! Good luck with your wood carving attempt, that sounds like it would be beautiful too! Thanks again for making me such a special necklace! Happy swapping, fellow Washingtonian! (i was just in Tacoma for the day last week! Love to brose "The Ave",Tacoma Boys, Pacific Ave/historic district & the thrift shops!)
Response: I used this flexible metal "string" that made it much quicker to string all the little beads. I'm glad you like it! Yeah, Tacoma has some great spots if you look hard enough. There's a pretty big bead store on 6th ave, have you checked it out?

Comment: I don't think I got your postcard, but it seems mean to make you send another one out, and you said you already mailed them...if you feel like sending me another one, I'd love it! :)
Response: Strange, another partner from that swap said she didn't get hers either. I sent them all out at the same time. But I will put another one in the mail for you!! -- that's not mean, silly.

Comment: I opened all the envelopes and although you had sent some items for crafting, there wasn't any inspirational words, quotes, etc. as per swap requirements.
Response: That's too bad you didn't find it inspiring. The swap requirements didn't say you had to include inspirational WORDS. "The "what" is wide open to interpretation." So, I think materials and craft how-to's are more inspirational.

Comment: What a great package to receive. You had my husband stumped, he couldn't read the address and who sent it. The stamp and book are great. I can't wait to put them to good use.
Response: Hahahaha, the people at the post office get frustrated sometimes when I paint the letters. Happy you're anticipating using the book & stamp! :)

Comment: Teela;) Thanks so much for the rockin swap! Wowie did you do a number on the packaging! Its the neatest packaging I've EVER seen;) Definitely a keeper! I love the Serial Killer stuff on the back, the questions (which I got two out of the three right) and answers, etc! I also thank you for the very detailed letter inside, you've got such patience to write. I love all the cute things you put all over the paper;) I'm not sure why, but this package didn't get here until yesterday, but you said in the letter that it was mailed around the 4th? Weird..mebbe the PO opened your package because of the stuff on the outside, LOL!! I love the handmade book, how talented you are! The stamps: I'm not sure if the blocks you are using cause this but the spider one broke and when I use the stamps, they leave stuff on the ink pad. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I thank you oh so much for everything, the spider is still useable, he is just missing some of his legs:P ♥
Response: It broke!? I've never experienced those lino blocks breaking before. Sometimes when you first use them there's pieces of the lino block that got removed. After washing them a few times it shouldn't happen. I can't remember if the spider was carved with the white lino or the pink lino. The pink is stronger but I've used the white many many times with success. :( I'm really glad you enjoyed the swap & hope we can do it again sometime...

Comment: Thanks :-) , It finally arrived, just please dont forgot to write surnames in addresses. If someone lives in appartment building like me, then It arrived just thanks to postwoman remembering that I receive lot of mail so she asked if I think that its for me ...
Response: Drat! In America you don't need to write last names on packages. I never use them. I'm glad this finally got to you.

Oooh, bookbinding. I've been wanting to try that. I'm sure your swap partner will love your made-with-love handpainted/embroidered cards, too. My partner is all about some glitter and Tinkerbell so she's getting a glittery little sign with the Barrie quote "All the world is made of faith, trust, and pixie dust". It includes a little bottle of fairy dust as an extra gift. ;)

A personal swap would be awesome! Let's do that sometime soon! :D

eversosweetly on Jul 23, 2010:

Could not you think of anything regular? I am not native English speaker, so I dont know exactly what typography is, and the other too seems to be rather difficult . Please help me what to do.

on my comments you only wrote that I send : could not you think of anything regular? I also added begging for help and you only answer me: "Nudity? Like unclothed women. Or 50's styled pin-up girls."

do you think I am stupit that I dont know what nudity is? I was asking about the typography, then I search whole day throught Prague to find sstuff for you

kacka on May 30, 2010:

If I am horror to correspond with - just see - I sent you two messages in both told you Hi, or what ever. ´The only sentence without any greeting anything - was : Nudity? Like unclothed women. Or 50's styled pin-up girls.

sorry - but who is here hard correspond here. You just think I am not english speaking native that I am something less that you dont need to communicate more politely to me?I knew that this swap will be a problem since I read your comment section - all normal things in their list except just one - yours. And your aswer when I politely asked what can I send you was that sentence mentioned above. I sent you nearly 500g or items no matter I received about 30g for this swap. Made picture of all it, in case there will be something wrong

blackcloudsky on May 15, 2010:

how did you get so awesome?

Katica on May 9, 2010:

Hello! Just writing to ask if you received the parcel of postal goodness I sent you. My other partner has already received hers, so I am hoping that yours has shown up or will arrive any day now. If you start to get anxious that it might have been lost in the mail, please let me know so I can make a replacement for it....and if you have received it, please get me rated so that I can stop being anxious that maybe it got lost :)
