I've enjoyed getting mail since I can remember. I used to write to pen pals when I was a teenager and in my 20s I started swapping things through the mail. I don't know what I enjoy more - the shopping and fixing up packages for my 'send-tos' or opening my mailbox and seeing a package just for me. ;)
In my spare time I enjoy writing fiction (short stories, poems, whole books, anything really). And I desire to one day become a published author of SOMETHING, haha.
I enjoy playing the game City Of Heroes. It's the first online game I've ever tried and I'm addicted.
I like surfing the net, blogging, watching movies & tv. Reading is also something I enjoy doing in my 'down time'. I never tire of getting lost in book stores (new or used), and if there is a little cafe inside, well all the better!
I enjoy music & like to have it playing pretty much all the time.
A wide variety... I try to be open minded about different types/style/eras of music. But my favorite kinds are - modern pop/rock, some 1970s & 1980s pop/rock, older disco, mellow sounding songs, love songs (especially from the 70s/80s) and calming indie and ambient music.
I really like listening to internet (streaming) radio, Pandora.com is my favorite
I love books. I enjoy 'reading challenges' (some of my friends come up with the most interesting 'challenges').
Some of my favorite genres are: any kind of paranormal, fantasy & urban/dark fantasy novels - I even like the romances (such as vampire and other-world based) set in those genres. Strangly, I've found that I don't like werewolf related books... I've tried reading a few of them and they just don't appeal to me for some reason.
I also am very open to being introduced to new authors within the paranormal/fantasy/dark fantasy romance genre.
Some other genres I enjoy are: general sci-fi/fantasy, YA (young adult), books centered around magic, secrets, myths, mythical creatures, gods/goddesses, alternate reality/alternate history novels & generally just storylines that make you think and keeps you guessing.
Favorite Authors - Sherrilyn Kenyon, Susan Kearney, JK Rowling, Gena Showalter, Kim Harrison, Susan Cooper, Lynn Viehl, Christine Feehan, Sandra Hill + others.
I like these types of movies - sci-fi/fantasy, movies that keep you guessing, deep-thinking movies, tear-jerkers with meaning...
Examples - The Lake House, Harry Potter, Serendipity, The Notebook, X-Men, Spiderman, Matrix, DiVinci Code + Pirates of the Caribbean.
Heroes, Criminal Minds, Medium, Mad Men, old episodes of Buffy & Angel and Doctor Who.
Likes - Books (no books older than 10 yrs please, gently used is fine though), coffee, Belgian & German chocolate (no nuts or fruit), New Age things, Pagan things, music mix cds, handmade messenger bags, writing tools like fine quality pens & notebooks/journals.
Dislikes - Coconut anything, fruit & nut flavored coffee, anything Christian & rap-country-hard metal music. I also don't like 'cutesy' things, country home decor or anything for childern (I don't have any kids).
Things that I'm totally okay with receiving - Nudes (as in postcards, etc), curse words in songs or books, used things... I'm pretty open-minded about everything.
Colors I like are:
Dark shades of colors (like cobalt, hunter green, cinnamon, vermilion + rich carmine)
Purple, saffron, orange, gold & black.
There are other colors I like but I just wanted to quickly add some here.
Colors I really don't like:
Pastels, neons & really busy patterns.
