Comment: thank you for the cool owl atc! and I love the stamped ATC info backings! With everything that is going on, I can't say my mental health is great, but at least we are okay physically. best regards to you and yours as well <3
Comment: I love your ATC, but was shocked when I saw it. The ATC I made for this swap was in the four square style and it's subject matter was ice cream cones as well! I guess great minds think alike! I like yours a lot better, how you used a paper cutting technique to make your squares and ice cream cones (I used Distress Inks and stamps). Thank you for such a wonderful swap. Also, thank you for the extra ATC blanks. Those will come in handy.
Response: You're welcome! I think I got the idea from a pop art project I did with kids a few years ago.
Comment: Received card today. Thank you for all the stamps. I love your Christmas Card and I can't wait to show it to my 11 year old grand-daughter who is also going to love it. I'm happy this is the first card I received for Christmas. Thank you.
Comment: This is so great! I love Frida and this photo AND the cool vintage stamps. I just got a bunch, including some with Frida, off Ebay. Congratulations to your daughter! Emory is awesome. Decatur is one of my favorite places to visit. So much to do in Atlanta! :):):)
Comment: Wowzers Mindy! What a wonderful swap you sent to me. The envelope is so pretty, and then inside I found 7 great images for my enjoyment and collections. I'm just smiling already even before I get to your questions and answers (#7 had me laughing out loud). . . . . I'll send a message to you going over your Q&A. I made a little zine for my Q&A, and although I received a Heart and a very nice comment on it, there wasn't any feedback on the content and that was a little disappointing to me.
P.S. - my favorite images were the owls, the radishes, and the Matisse Thanks 😊
Response: You're welcome! This was so fun to put together for you. And, thank You for your answers to the questions. Doing that makes the swap experience sweeter.
Comment: Thank you so much for your great ATC and the wonderful story behind it! Amazing what one little dot can do. I also really liked the zentangle collage ATC. I'm always amazed by the wonderful creativity that is here:)
Comment: Thank you for the pretty card. The cardinal is my favorite bird. His poor mate, the female, is rather drab, you know. The best to you and yours for a lovely holiday season.I appreciate the nice stamps on the envelope.
Comment: Thanks so much for the card and for swapping! Two special things: I used to live in Eugene, so seeing your Eugene address automatically brought a smile to my face PLUS...a bald Eagle! My whole family has been obsessed with them lately after seeing one in our back yard! We love the card! Many thanks and Happy Holidays!
Response: You're welcome! I see a lot of eagles in the valley and know where to look for them. Not everyone got an eagle card. I'm glad I sent you that one. Enjoy!
Comment: Dear Mindy, I am very happy what you send me. FQ - all three is gorgeous and buttons to. Very very glad, because I realy like fabric.:) And so many post stamps....delicious for me, I love them:)
Comment: Thanksso much for sending! I really do love the yarn ~ that's my favorite kind and I didn't have that color mix yet!
The stationery is beautiful. I'm glad you didn't write on the envie. Also I liked the wrapping paper and ribbon ~ I can re-use both. Sorry about your weather, we've had the same thing here, along with freezing temps, so the fog iced up everything. Now its back to rain again.
Response: Thanks for the heart! You know it's been foggy when a rainy day looks bright.
Comment: Thank you, the eyes are particularly interesting. I like that they're vintage. Do you remember approximately how old they are?
Well, it looks like you'll get the rain you're waiting for. We're supposed to have rain in the Northwest on Friday :)
Response: There is no year on the packaging, but since they're made in Japan, I'm guessing they're from the 60's.
Comment: Hi Mindy....Thank you for the the Flying Pig ATC. I love it. The colors are beautiful and he has such a cute expression. Got a kick out of the flying carpet also. I'm going to check out the books you mentioned. Tuesday
Comment: Thank you so much for your awesome package with not just one, but two presents for me!!! I´m so happy this package arrived just in time for Christmas as I can´t wait to see what´s inside... And the ATC is lovely too and I think I might have even read the book as it sounds so familiar. . Thank you also for all the bits and pieces. A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
Comment: I just braved the light flurries to get my mail and it was so worth it. I love the stutters and the candy cane. I can't wait to open them. The suspense is killing me. Thank you for such a cute package.
Comment: â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤â¤Mindy, Mindy, Mindy ~ OMGosh I Lâ¤VE it~!! Not only did you do a fabulous job on recycling, you use the most awesome colors and fabrics and it matches my kitchen! It not only looks great on me *:)*, it looks in-creditable hanging in my kitchen! Thank you so very much, Kelly C[â¤]
Response: Wow! ...matching your kitchen...I guess that's what happens when I let my muse guide me and proceed without much prior planning. Thanks for the compliments and heart!
Comment: What kind/brand of yarn did you use? size hook? I love them and would like to make more.
Response: I used a cotton yarn that I get in bulk by the ounce at a local yarn store, Soft Horizons Fibre. They call them mill ends. The colors and amounts they have vary from shipment to shipment.
The light bright green is sugar and cream yarn.
I think I used a G or H hook.
Comment: Mindy - I wish I could send you a bajillion hearts! This was one of the most fun packages I have ever received... anytime! I loved everything you sent, but my two most favorites were the little wooden giraffe... and (of all things) the zipper... it's just crying out for a journal page with a "secret zipped inside"! Thank you so much for "finding" things in your stash!
Response: I'm glad you're pleased. It was a fun swap to collect. Things and more things kept finding their way into the envelope. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: the funny thing about your atc is that the quote is a very personal one to me. it's a long story, but a friend of mine had that as his senior year quote in the yearbook and he's now passed away so anytime i hear it or see it somewhere i think of him. thank you!
Response: You're welcome. Thank you for the heart!
Comment: I love the blanket stitching around the pin! Thanks for taking so much time on it. I do appreciate it. I took it to work and pinned it to the entrance to my cubicle and I like knowing it is there, keeping the evilness out of my workspace.
Response: As I was sewing the pin on I was thinking that it didn't have to be worn on a garmet. I was going to put that in the note, but thought it better to let you decide how best to use it. The beads will avert the evil eye too. originally i was going to incorporate them into the piece. later, they just didn't seem to fit. thanks for the heart!
Comment: WONDERFUL package! I loved the atcs! They were both wonderful! I love that you sent a little note with it too - that really makes a difference! You made me smile! And the little extras are always appreciated! :) Thank you!
Response: You're welcome! Thanks for the heart! :)
Comment: Hi Mindy, yes your words are very inspiring, thank you. What a beautiful postcard too, one day I will visit Oregon's Coast. There really are so many majestic places to be seen in the U.S.
Response: The Oregon coast is beautiful. Most of it is still wild and undeveloped. I hope you can visit sometime. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful prayer flag! I love both the water design & the words of the prayer... water is such a baseline need. Thanks again. ~ Maggie Gary. PS I enjoyed reading about your work as a fiber artist. And I also have a small collection of vintage scarves ~ mostly those paisley bordered ones [rayon] which I use for tablecloths for senior-center meals, but also some silk ones when I'm lucky enough to find them in thrift stores... mg.
Response: You're welcome! My scarf collection comes from thrift stores too.
Comment: Mindy, thanks for the stickers.. and yes.. i have read Motherless Daughters.. it is VERY therapeutic, and i love it. Oh, and sorry for the loss of your mother too. =(
BUT thanks for the sweet little note.
Comment: She is adorable!! I haven't used eyelash yarn for hair because I didn't think it would look good; but, you have proven me wrong!! I think the bangs are so cute on her. The face is one of the best that I have gotten. Well done!! Mary
Response: awww, i'm blushing from the compliments. i'm glad you like her! the hair is the most fun for me to add. i use it to give a dotee personality. thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the awesome package! The first thing I did when I saw the jar of salts is open it up and smelled it! It smells wonderful! And I love the little candles too. And of course, the chocolate! You can never go wrong with that! And I love that they are star shaped!
Response: You're welcome! Have a Blessed Yuletide!
Comment: You have no clue how excited I was to see your PC. I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS!!!!!! I lived in WA for a few months last year.. and it was just gorgeous, EVERYDAY!!! Made me want to stay outside all day.. everyday! lol
Response: you're welcome. I love the Cascades too.
Comment: Nice P/C. My 24yr.old nephew also has aplastic anemia, 1 of his 9 siblings was a match for a bone marrow, it's been a year since his transplant, we think he got this from his type of work. I'll keep your daughter in my prayers. Take care and Happy Holidays
Response: Wow. It is such a rare disease. your nephew is lucky to have a related donor. my daughter is home and doing well. now. i appreciate your prayers. we have to be patient and wait and see over time.
