About Me

what I pledged I'm a 22 year old female . I love to write letters, i've never been on a swappers site like this but it looks like fun. I enjoy listening to music, reading fantasy novels, making beaded jewellery and pretty much anything that doesn’t involve house work lol!

My Grandma taught me how to crochet and knit and i am absolutely loving it! I find that i can sit in one spot for hours and just crochet, its a great way to keep your mind off things and to just relax.

Im currentley a part-time student and working part time because i hurt my back in Auguest and i havent been ab;e to do alot since.

Im mad for stickers and i find it hard to walk past a sticker stand without attacking it and anybody close enough to the stand to take MY STICKERS!!! lol, my man thinks im a nut and that its all a waste of money but it keeps me happy :)

I currentley have 25 national and international snail mail penpals, although that number can change without notice. I love to send/receive letters; however, since the post likes to raise the cost of stamps, you practically need a full time job to support my hobby, so i'm looking into getting some email penpals.

Favorite Music

Anything that doesn't make my ears bleed lol

Comment: Elariane, I hope you and your family are safe during this terrible flooding. My degree was fairly technical, but I focus on process improvement by tracking trends in data collected in manufacturing. I like having a practical application in my work. Thank you for your kind words!

Comment: Zentangling sounds interesting! A run log is just where I put the days I ran, for how long, and little notes that help me improve. And yes, the dream book is where I write down my dreams (when I feel like it, anyway). Sometimes they're vivid enough for me to remember them in perfect detail!

Comment: Hi! I actually just got done reading your profile, as well. - 25 penpals, I'm not quite sure how many I have at the moment. Mainly because I took a year hiatus writing letters and now I'm back & got quite a new group of people to write to. So most of my penpals are in the first letter writing stages. I'm hoping everyone will stick around but I know sometimes that's not always the case. =/ Hopefully, though!! I still write to three girls, who I've been writing to for NINE years. I love that feeling, I know them very well & their families. It's cool to ask how their mother is doing & what not. Oh yes, Not sure if this is in my profile or not, I've recieved long letters from people only talking about themselves, literally did not ask ONE question about me. I tried writing back & thought of NOTHING. I could comment on what they said, but why - when they didn't even ask anything about me? At the end of her letter she says "I do not like asking questions, Sorry." I just emailed her & said that I didn't think we'd work out as penpals. She freaked out on me. I just don't see spending money in postage who types their letters all the time or doesn't include you in the conversation! I'm sorry your husband thinks stickers is a waste of money. =( I'm actually pretty lucky that Max doesn't think my hobby is a waste of money. He's all for, if it makes you happy do it - sometimes you have to spend money on the things you love. & hey, it's cheaper than having a drinking&drug problem --- RIGHT? Haha ;) I have not read the books for True Blood, I'm not much of a reader, I just never have time. But the TV Series, is AMAZING! Lafayette is my favorite. Who is yours? I do not have cable so I have yet to see the 3rd season, hopefully it will be out on DVD soon! =)

Comment: Thanks for the nice comment. Today is sunny! I'm sorry for the weather in Australia, let's hope for the best! I've always been afraid of butterflies, but my Mum says there wasn't any kind of shock which might have caused this phobia. It's the wings, I think. Blah. Anyway, happy 2011!
Response: It's raining yet again here and towns have been flooded over night and its getting worse. My family is flooded in but hopefully it wont reach them...Just go around. It shouldnt reach us but it will affect the suburbs next to us. 8 people died overnight and 72 are missing atm. I hope it all stops soon

My name is Cathy. I love how you are so orgainzed on you profile. We have some things in common. if you wanna be penpals I would love that

Hi! I'm here for the 'Read my profile and post a comment' Wow, 25 penpals, that's impressive. There's nothing quite like getting a handwritten though, so I guess that makes up for the postage costs.

Even though I don't watch much tv, if Family Guy is on I will watch that. I love that sort of comedy.

I think it's great that you can crochet and knit. I have done a bit of both, but really the most I have knitted is those covered coathangers that all Grandmas like to knit...but I must admit these really are the BEST coathangers!

I hope you are in a high and dry place with all the flooding in QLD at the moment. I live in Melbourne, but my son is at the Gold Coast at the moment and can't believe how wet it is.

Take care, Janine

Hi there to Australia! :) Another snail mail lover, nice! I also really really love pen palling. Today I went a bit crazy on stationery shopping, ooops, and yeah, you are so right about the postage :( Though, the Finnish Post HAD to lower the prices as they were way too high, thanks for that :D I do not want to know how much I spent for stamps in ten years of writing letters! :)

while I do not like Family Guy too much, American Dad is just great! :)

Have a nice day and happy Swapping!

Sabrina

Hi there, I am your partner for the 'read my profile' swap. This is also my first swap site and I am having so much fun. I think it is awseome that your granny taught you to knit, i am really beginning wonder if it is a dying art. Mymom taught me the basics when I was little and I kinda learnt the rest by myself.I surpassed her in crochet but she is still the queen of knitting. Thank heavens for amigurumi which makes crochet really cool. I am sorry about your back. i know how bad it is since my mom suffers her whole life 9she put her back out while saving me from rotwielers when I was really young) and my husband suffers too and ends up in hospital all the time so I really feel for you and hope things get better. I love those cartoons too, specially monsters inc. I think you just gave me a good idea for my next plushie! I really enoyed reading your profile. Warmest of regards, Nasreen (",)

Elariane, The day of the accident was crazy!!!! I don't think I mentioned, it happened in front of the hospital, the office windows facing the street where we were. I called the office to tell them we would be late. When John & I made it to the appt., the secretary, nurse and technician all made a comment like "sorry about your accident". Then the doctor came in the room and told me she had been watching from the window!! A fabulously glorious moment for me!!! And the funny thing is, while waiting for the police to arrive, I was looking at her looking at me!!!!! BTW, WELCOME TO SWAP-BOT!!!!! This is a great community of caring people and there are so many opportunities to try new techniques and crafts. I love this place!!!! Happy Swapping!!! April
