I have made the change to only using cruelty free/non animal tested products! So if I get sent something that is not in a swap, I'm probably just going to give it to someone else! I don't want to be a butt about it, but it's a new and exciting life change and I want to stick with it! :D

Hello! I am Mary Rose! I am a 21 year old college student who overuses exclamation points!

I am an art major (I just changed my concentration to printmaking!) and a Japanese minor, and really love school.

I want to work with animals as a career.

I work as a bather/brusher in a Petco grooming salon. When I'm not at school, I nanny for my 4-year old niece and 2-year old nephew. It is hard, I work a LOT. But it's jobs I really, really love.

Animals are really important to me. I am a recycling, tree-hugging, hippie wanna-be.

At school with me I have an Egyptian Spiny Mouse, Mishka, who I love to pieces! She's a cutie. And there's also my deformed betta fish whose name is constantly changing, but his name is mostly Kevin.I nursed him back to health after a bad fishy encounter! Hanging out with Kevin is a snail, his name is "Snaily Bag of Donuts". And may we all mourn the passing of my Madagascar Hissing Cockroach: Hissy Elliot. :(

At home, I have a golden retriever, Keiji, who is my best friend. When I'm not working (and sometimes when I am), I'm with Keiji. He's my heart, and my puppy-pants, Mr. Dog, Keiji-Weiji, pup-a-dup, Nicolas Keiji, Senor Perro. We spend a lot of time going to the dog park, going on beach adventures. And just hanging out. He's my best friend in the whole wide world, and I am going to love him forever.

Update! 6/2011- Keiji just had CCL surgery, so our adventures are on a hold. He can not run for six months!!!!

I used to not like cats, but they are growing on me. But I do love dogs (esp. golden retrievers, boston terriers, and any silly looking mutt). I also like... basically every animal. Not really monkeys so much, they're kind of creepy.

I have quite a few piercings, and my ears are stretched to a 00. I also have a handfull of tattoos, but I am craving more! I love body modifications and tattoos!

In my free time I'm usually doing school work, other than that, I play video games, and spend a very large amount of time on the internet.

I LOVE to cook, and now I live in a campus apartment with a full kitchen! Life is good. I recommend Lauren Ulms book "Vegan Yum Yum" to anyone and everyone! I make something from it almost every day! And I love to clean! So my hobbies connect! I make big old cooking messes and then I clean them up!

I can be really uncomfortable around people, and I'm pretty shy. But I'm big on kindness and manners, so I would say I'm a nice person.

I care about the planet, I care about niceness, I care about other living creatures. I care about lots of things, sometimes too many things.

I most any kind of music. Even country! I do not understand all the country hating. The one thing I do not really enjoy is lots and lots of screaming. Not for me. (I love mix cds with any kind of music) My very favorite favorites are: William Elliott Whitmore, A Love Like Pi, Gogol Bordello, and Mumford and Sons.

I like books about troubled people doing troubled things. I also love children's books. I often read books about vegetarianism and animal rights, and just non-fiction about animals in general. I used to want to be a children's librarian. Maybe I still do, I don't know!

I absolutely adore anything quirky. Send me the weirdest stuff you've got! In general bright, happy things. Or gross, gory things. I'm easy to please, as long as you put thought and care into something. :3

I like things related to gender and sex, I think it is nothing to be afraid of! I also love anything related to body acceptance and anti-shaving!

I have a deep fondness in my heart for brown paper bags. I like to wrap stuff in them and get stuff wrapped in them.

Method brand products! They make cleaning supplies and soaps. It is the only stuff I will use!

I also enjoy getting things with a lot of personality. I love handwritten things, not just printed. Handmade is amazing, I tend to prefer it!

I love things with animals on them, especially dogs, not really cats. I love animal-rights/vegetarian related things.

I like cute things, smooshy mushy cute things.

I like Asian themed things. Kawaii is great, so is traditional themes! I LOVE Pikachu, from pokemon! And just pokemon in general. I'm in the middle of Pokemon Black!

I collect found-nature stuff! Bones, leaves, feathers!

Bigger things on my wishlist are: Any 00 size jewelery!
