About Me

A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I never "flake" on a swap as you can tell from my feedback. If you don't receive something from me, please let me know. Something is wrong, and I will resend!

I am a retired (due to physical injuries) Sign Language Interpreter/Interpreting Professor. I miss Interpreting and teaching sometimes, but NOT commuting in Idaho winters. It turns out that retirement is actually pretty fun! I love having time to binge Netflix, create crafty things, and enjoy Nature!

MARRIED LIFE! My former marriage (we married young and realized after 25 years we are better as friends than spouses) blessed me with two daughters, and four grandchildren: two boys and two girls. Interesting fun fact: My oldest daughter delivered her second son with her ten year old son attending. QUITE a surprise! They all have a very special bond.

This newer relationship isn't really very new! 😊 We met online before that was "cool". I traveled from Idaho to South Carolina to meet him and his family. He then moved to Idaho to be with me! We've been together since 1999, married since 2006, and are totally "smitten"! A Miniature Schnauzer, Oliver, and long haired black cat, Sassy, are our fur-buddies!

SPIRITUAL LIFE: I am not religious in the traditional sense, having left organized religion after a long struggle to fit in. I DO believe, difficult to describe, but there is a Spiritual Presence in all living things. I don't like to label things, but if people ask, I say I'm an eclectic pagan. I love to celebrate the sentiments surrounding all the holidays!

SOME OF MY FAVORITES: The moon, trees, ravens, dragonflies and fairies, are among my favorite images. I love little "House Mouse" mice, both stamped images and anything else, and Halloween items are welcome all year. A tea β˜• bag is a wonderful gift, or an instant coffee packette, and in a larger type swap, I love receiving candy, (I can't eat hard 🍬 though), those notepads for making lists, and something that is YOUR favorite! Please let me know what that item was. 😊

FAMILY: I'm half Norwegian, and enjoy learning about Norway and Norwegian Culture. I'm armchair traveling right now, but we would love to go there someday! Our genealogy include King Olaf, and Harald Harfager. 😊 Fun fact: Vikings arrived on the continent of North America long before Columbus visited Hispaniola.

READING: I have difficulty reading small print, so medium to large print is preferred for reading swaps, if possible. Cookbooks are the exception, and I LOVE cookbooks, especially cuisines from other countries, if the ingredients are easy to find: Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, etc.! Genres I REALLY like include mysteries, horror, and thrillers. Escapism!

GETTING CRAFTY! I love to create jewelry, cards, hangers and tags, prayer flags, memory boards, altered art, especially altered dominoes, poker chips, and large match boxes, and enjoy using mixed media. I also like to crochet, simple patterns so far.

CRAFTS and KITS I'D LOVE TO HAVE: Counted cross stitch, knitting, crochet, origami, small "paint with diamonds," build a model: fantasy, imagination, fairy garden etc., ...and needle felting.

THINGS I'D LOVE TO SEE IN A SWAP: A forever stamp or two to help me swap. If it's a larger swap, candy/snacks, caramel anything, a small gift card to almost anywhere, but especially Starbucks! I always love a couple sheets of stationery and matching envelope, postcards, heavy cardstock, double sided paper, embellishments, ephemera, patterned/seasonal/holiday Washi tape, bling, dimensional stickers, glue strips, cardstock die cuts, 1" x 2" images to use to make altered dominoes: especially fairies, steampunk, or Halloween images (all year), punched scallops, punched anything! Coffee themed items are way fun! I also love pens that write smoothly, mechanical pencils, and sharpies! πŸ’œ

STICKERS I LOVE: House Mouse, Fairies, Elves, Gnomes, Dragons, Wizard of Oz Witches, Maleficent, Cruella de Ville, and ANY others, dimensionals, moon images, hummingbirds, flamingos, ravens/crows, dragonflies, hedgehogs, tree frogs, iguana, Miniature Schnauzers, Halloween ALL year, Christmas (non religious), Valentine's Day, Seasonal, surprises! 😊

PLEASE NO: RELIGIOUS, LETTERS, NUMBERS, KID'S, PUPPIES AND KITTENS, CARTOONS! NO DISNEY EXCEPT Mickey Mouse so I can make crafts for my friend, and Disney Witches/Villains!

SWAPPING: I've been involved in swap groups for a couple of years, and enjoy doing several swaps each month. Some I've done: Fancy fold card swaps, altered mason jar, altered matcbox, altered paint brush, altered domino and poker chip, altered spoon; 4x6 memory boards, ATCs, mini-pocket and pocket letters, prayer flags, and others. I also participate regularly in a group that once a week requests and sends happy mail to fulfill wishes.

I am excited to be here! PLEASE let me know if you don't receive a swap from me in a timely manner. I always mail early or on time, so if a swap doesn't arrive something has gone wrong and I will resend!

My favorite childhood Christmas present was roller skates! It was the late 1970s so rollerblades weren’t a thing yet. I thought I was so cool wearing my roller skates with the pom-poms I made for them and my crocheted poncho!! 😎 πŸ˜‚
