About Me

I happily live alone with my cat, Sally . She is an older cat and is very loving (after she came out from under the bed where she hid when she first got here!). I enjoy reading, tatting, friends and in particular, my two granddaughters (and my daughter and son-in-law). (I send each of my granddaughters, who are 10 and 6, a postcard every week. I would appreciate unused postcards which would be interesting for them.) I enjoy "magic", like blowing bubbles, flowers, nature, crystals, unicorns, dragonflies, cats, friends, learning about and trying new things.

Favorite Music

Lots of different kinds -- show music, rock and roll, music from the 60s and 70s, a little country(Willie Nelson, Emmy Lou Harris, Nancy Griffith), blues, jazz, blue grass and am open to just about anything.

Favorite Movies

The Sting. The Last Waltz. Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, Katherine Hepburn, Jane Fonda, Audrey Hepburn, Anne Bancroft, Nicole Kidman, and lots of others! I don't like horror or violent movies.

Favorite Television

What Not to Wear. Mash. The Cosby Show. Queer as Folk. 24. Sex and the City. Boston Legal. The Closer. The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Biographies. Shows on reorganizing and decorating. Cooking Shows. Roseanne.

Favorite Crafts

Tatting. Embroidery. Sewing. Knitting (just beginning).

Favorite Books

I love reading! I enjoy mysteries, biographies, self-help, feminist, science fiction, some popular novels, recipes, crafting, organization manuals, short stories, etc.! I do not enjoy horror or scary suspense, romances, or violent books.

Neat paper (I have gotten some beautiful papers in swaps. I really enjoy handmade paper or just interesting designs. They seem to make me more creative)

Comment: The recipes sound great. I think we may have the sausage casserole for Christmas morning! We have always had link sausage baked in crescent rolls, but we could use a change!
Response: We like it because you can fix it the night before...and open a few presents while it is cooking!

Comment: I love your snowflakes! You do really nice work! I wish I knew how to do tatting but it looks really difficult!! How long does it take you to make something like the snowflake you sent? I really love them - thank you so much!!!! :)
Response: I really love tatting! It is very soothing and gives me something to do to keep my hands busy. A snowflake takes about 45 minutes, but rewards me more than that! Thanks for your kind comments.

I am also thankful that you sent the orginal envelope, I am taking that with me to the post in the morning and having a talk with the driver. There is no difference between the two envelops, the one delivered and the one they sent back. I will have the proof I need.
