I live with my honey, Chris, and our five other roommates in a REALLY big house in East Sac. My room is almost always messy - mostly due to all my crafts laid out across the room!
I am godmother to four incredibly cute kids, and aunt to two beautiful girls! So if you have any cute craft ideas, I'm always open!
I'm a member of the Sacramento Craft Mafia! I'm the #2 person at large! I love all my fellow mafiosas! We're trying to cover the city in pink, black & white! Keep an eye out for our calendar this holiday season!
FYI!!! Please don't send me anything scented!!! I have allergies!!! Thank you!
ROCK! Queens of the Stoneage, Marilyn Manson, Weezer, NIN, John Mayer, Les Claypool, Ben Harper, David Gray, Third Eye Blind, the Flaming Lips, The Cranberries, White Stripes, Flogging Molly.... tons of others! (I love going to concerts!!!)
Juno, Superbad, Knocked Up, Reality Bites, Empire Records, Ghost World, Harry Potter(s), The Prestige, The Little Mermaid...and most other Disney/Pixar movies, Films by Robert Rodriguez & Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton as well, Frida, High Fidelity, Dreams of an Insomniac, Saved, Marie Antoinette (the costumes!...in fact, any costume flick is amazing!), Secretary, Real Women Have Curves... the list goes on!
Sex and the City, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel....Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, LA Ink, Enterprise
I like crafts alot! I'm a crafter who loves to have a million projects going at once! In going with that, I'm a bead whore!!! Really, I'm a bead elitist! I'm a manager of a bead store, I make beaded jewelry all the time! And if I can't find what I want in my bead store I travel to other bead stores! I've recently become addicted to knitting scarves... I love all the soft blends and bright colors!!! Not to mention my addiciton to fabrics also! I've worked with fusing glass, a little lampworking, enameling, soldering, lost wax casting... it's all a ton of fun with color and fire! I love art in general! I like to visit galleries on second saturday and see what other artists have to offer. Some people just blow my mind with what they do artistically! I can only hope to achieve a higher level of craftiness someday! I'll wonder through the city just to get inspired...along with scouring through magazines and catalogs. I also love photography...I like taking pictures of friends and family! If I don't have my camera, I'm always ready to whip out my camera phone at any time! And I could go on and on, but you probably get by now that I like making things, and I like to see things that other people create!
My favorite Artists are Frida Khalo, Alphonse Mucha, and Gustav Klimt!
I generally Love COLOR, but my all time favorite is red!
I love taking pictures of my friends and family. If I don't have my camera, my camera phone is always ready! I'm trying to save up for a snazzy digital!
I love flowers, especially sunflowers & gerber daisies!
Mexican sugar skulls, embriodery, Celtic knots, glittery things.
I'm currently addicted to pomegranite anything and Tazo white cranberry tea!

Those ornaments were so fun to make. Especially the "research" part where I read Frida's journal and watched Frida documentaries.
LOL! I'm glad you liked your ornaments :) A bit gaudy maybe, but that's how RudeNun/Crafty Ruka rolls.
Cheers chica!
Hi there! I'm so excited to hear that such a wonderful museum carries my book in their gift shop. That's really cool! I haven't yet opened the swap you sent me, because I am woefully late in sending out my own ornaments -- I actually made them so long ago, by the time partners were assigned I had already lost them. LOL So I'm making a second batch now. But I'm sure I will love what you made! And of course it is "good enough" because it is handmade and from the heart. :) Happy swapping xo Suz
wow! you really are a Crazy busy jewelry making machine! heehee and what a big picture - hope we cross paths one day!
