I just found out that I will be continuing on with my job next year... mixed blessing! Great for stability, a little stressful too!

We sold our city house in November 2012 and we are living with my parents in the country. Our post office is very small, very rural, and very slow!

I love having a purpose for creating cards or whathaveyou, and receiving a surprise in the mail is extra awesome!

I mostly do hand-drawn ATCs, but I like to write too. I'll try a lot of things to see if I can get into them. I tried a dotee doll and although I enjoy the designing and finished product, the actual act of making them nearly killed me. I have never been much of a sewer, lol.

I'm a 29 year old woman live in rural northern Alberta. I haven't travelled too much but I always love observing the new flora, fauna, culture, architecture, and geography of new places. I hope that swapping postcards and the like will help me live the life of a traveller vicariously through my swapmates!

I grew up on a farm in a rural northern area. We had chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows, bison, and horses throughout my childhood. I really miss that life.

I am married and have an incredible and loving four year old son. He has taught me so much about myself and life. He has a load of allergies but is a happy little boy. He loves Thomas, Cars, Elmo, and kitties.

In 2011 I graduated from University with a Bachelor of Education and I now work as a grade 5/6 teacher and Special Education coordinator. Obtaining my degree was quite an achievement and I appreciate the love and support my family gave me.

I didn't want to write this here because I'm not looking for sympathy or a pity party. However, I'm also not ashamed of my condition. I have multiple sclerosis. I have good days and bad days, but in general my fine motor control is not great and some days my mental ability is a bit slow or blurred. Although I have always been somewhat of a ditz, it is a bit worse now so please forgive me if I seem forgetful or confused. I also may drop swaps at the last minute because I've ended up having a bad few days and know I won't get it done in time, but I will ALWAYS fulfill my side of swaps that have assigned me partners.

...books:

I am a long time fan of Terry Pratchett. I also enjoy R.A. Salvatore's work and most fantasy authors. Paolini's Eragon series has been a good read for me as well. The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter are in my top faves too. I also enjoyed the graphic novel "Johnny Cash: I see a darkness".

As an educator, I've been trying to read a lot of the current children and youth books to try and broaden my experiences. I loved "A Series of Unfortunate Events".

Lately I've become addicted to graphic novels. I particularly enjoy the series "Strangers in Paradise".

I've read "The Hunger Games"... AWESOME!

...movies and television:

I'll admit it - I'm a Star Trek nerd! My favourite is Star Trek: Voyager. Janeway is the bomb!

The humour of Monty Python has always appealed to me. A few years ago my husband and I went to see Spamalot. I laughed so hard that my stomach hurt.

I really enjoy crime shows; in particular, Law and Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, and CSI.

I usually enjoy sketch comedy, like Saturday Night Live and Mad TV. I also enjoy tasteless humour which is often present in shows like Family Guy and Southpark.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, The Lion King, Mulan, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch, and Tarzan are a few of my favourite animated films. In general I enjoy most animated films!

I have a long-standing love affair with the Muppets. I enjoy other Jim Hansen related productions too, such as Fraggle Rock. I also like Looney Toons, Spongebob Squarepants, Pokemon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (old school) and My Little Pony (old school).

...things:

I love horses! I've ridden for the greater part of my life and enjoy the bond I experience with my horse.

I really appreciate celtic-themed art. I drew my own tattoo that has a horse and celtic knotwork.

I enjoy playing video games. Right now I'm working through the new Zelda game for Wii. Skyrim had my husband and I captivated for a few months. I just finished Mass Effect 2 and Diablo 3. I love Mario Brothers, Dragon Age, Fable, Rock Band, The Sims, and... Zelda!

I am definitely willing to participate in private swaps. As for what I can offer, well...
