Married Christian "Mama" to 2 little girl Miniature Dachshund doggies, Betty & Beulah. If you have a dachshund or a miniature dachshund and would like to do a one-on-one trade of any kind, then just p.m. me.
I've been married to my Puerto Rican "Platano Man" for nearly 7 years and it's been quite an adventure of cultural mixing...I'm a bonafide Southern Belle from Kentucky and plainly put, he's a yankee from Massachussetts! :-D
I love to sew, cook, garden, coupon clipping. I love yard sales, garage sales, estate sales, Good Will, or any thrift store goodie! I'm a repurposer of stuff and i'm really into transforming with paint and wire and making yard art!
I like anything with miniature dachshunds! I also like owls, cardinals and little fat chirpy birds!
Quilting & sewing & garment construction & hand embroidery & painting & crochet & cooking & charity projects.
LOVE to QUILT and I LOVE FABRIC----any kind! So here's a reason to destash for Spring Cleaning purposes! Truthfully, I am not picky and would give a heart for any extra you send my way!
I'm not a fabric hog/snob I use extra fabric that I receive for charity quilts and making stuffed toys for an orphanage in Juarez, Mexico.
However, I do have some favorite fabric designers: Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner, and Heather Bailey. I also like 30's reproduction and vintage prints! Which I am using to create purses and little frilly frocks for kids to sell on my Etsy.
CROCHETing cotton dishclothes is my fave little thing to do when i want to create, but don't want to think too hard! I've also produced scarves, wrist-warmers, afghans, and other little oddities like flowers, mug-hugs, bowls, cell phone case, and even a doggie outfit!
Lastly, I paint & glue things, along with beading to make jewelry and book thongs. I have made the occasional ATC. I like to make cards using my limited scrapbooking papers...mostly using textured papers/cardstock and photographs. Just about any craft makes me happy! I like to try new things.
I like all colors, but I do have some favorites.
Any shade of GREEN makes me happy!!!
However, pair green with blue and or aqua...lovely!
I also like the combo of hot pink and orange!
Ok, like I said...I like all colors...brighter the better and with a tropical feel.
COOKBOOKS I am taking gifts of old cookbooks to add to my collection...so if you'd like to get rid of some that have lost their charm...please send them my way!
Especially interested in ethnic cuisine or cultural history/cookbooks. But hey, a good church fundraiser type cookbook is a fantabulous find with all kinds of hidden surprises!
I really like to COOK! I finally began writing my recipe creations in a notebook and now have a handwritten cookbook based on my kitchen creations and the stories of how my messed up recipes became masterpieces...at least my husband says so, but he'll eat anything!
Currently trying out recipes on friends by delivering meals to them on a lottery basis. I randomly select a family or friend and create according to their likes/dislikes and then await feedback.
Lastly, I am starting on an adventure of making salsa jelly! Here in the Southwestern US, i have a plethora of peppers and chilies available to me...so I'm being creative with the local produce.
Any canning tips you can pass along deserve a heart!!!
MUSIC I'm pretty open-minded with my music...like upbeat tunes, indie artists, Hillsongs, pop, & Latin.

@ScooterSissy Chery was @CherylLaVon who died of cancer this spring. She was very beloved here on swap-bot and she loved making dotees for everyone.
Hey girl. Missed you at the Thai Baby shower. Hope you and Buddy are doing ok.

Christie, I appreciate the floss you sent me but had a laugh about the color. Two of my sons are on a team right now with shirts that are essentially avocado colored (and my husband is a coach, so he has one too). Since I'm allergic to avocado (the food), I've been joking that it's a good thing I don't have one. But now I have avocado floss! :^)
Welcome to Fabric Art Divas! When you can, please take a moment to check out the group forums and introduce yourself. I look forward to seeing you around!
Yes, my dogs are doxies and they are the most loyal and affectionate and sometimes stubborn doggies...but the pros always outway the cons when it comes to your "fids"...furry kids! LOL
are your dog doxies? I am in love with those dogs...we are getting one in the spring. :)
