. . . . . . . . . .

I primarily swap handcrafted items. I've had a lot of fun over the years meeting like-minded people and discovering products and projects I would have never otherwise encountered. I keep almost everything I receive and have a craft room decorated with Swap-bot treasures.

I do occasionally join or host a postcard swap when I'm in the mood for a quick activity. I am not a serious postcard collector, though. This means I'm not picky about the cards I receive. If they meet swap requirements, we're good to go.

I don't usually send extras in my swaps and I prefer not to receive them. This isn't a hard-and-fast rule, by any means. It's just that I'm focused on the swap itself and don't give extras much thought. I'm also in a constant state of destashing and don't want to accumulate more than I can use.

These are a few of my current favorites:

  • Abstract Expressionism

  • Impressionism

  • Realism

  • Whimsy

Because I love color so much, it's easier for me to tell you what I don't like than what I do. I'm not a fan of any of the colors you would find in a traditional camouflage pattern: dark tan, khaki green and gray. I've also never liked mustard yellow, avocado and primary orange as the main players in a piece.

I do love bright, saturated colors such as magenta, quinacridone violet, lime green, turquoise, cobalt blue, lemon yellow and cherry red with white detailing and hints of black to make the other colors pop.

There is a time and place for every color, though, and I find all of them appealing when used thoughtfully.

Happy Swapping!

Comment: I don't have to "grow to like it" as you wrote in your note because I LOVE it already! The colors are perfect, and I really like the scrappy edges. Thank you for an awesome swap. (And thank Coco for her contribution to the envie.)
Comment: I love the colors and textures. Thank you for #3. It's a nice addition to #s 1 & 2.
Comment: Oh my goodness. First, I love the notecard. Second, your index cards are just amazing. Third, I think my fav is the presidents, but then I look at the little girl and hold her up and that becomes my fav and then there’s the swirlies intricate design. Fourth, have I said you are so special for sending me such beautiful artwork. Thank you. I feel so lucky.❤️

Response: I thought that might have happened because I've done the same thing! Thanks a bunch :-)
Comment: Your insights were great for this tour. I hadn't noticed the kitchen alcove and your research into Candace Wheeler is also really interesting. Thanks again for hosting! Michelle
Comment: Your Answers are much better articulated than I ever could. The fact that you said the museum is like a corn maze is spot on. I had a heck of a time navigating it, but what a great museum! I really enjoyed looking into Dali's surreal world. Thank you for coming up with such a fun and unique swap, this is exactly what we need more of here on the bot!
Response: I'm so glad I got to share this experience with you! What a great place. Thank you for the kind rating. Happy swapping!

sherba31 rated for NT: ATCoin Patch on Dec 10, 2019
Comment: OH I LOVE IT! Thank you for the beautiful patch. We actually just returned from a trip to DC although the cherry blossoms are not in bloom. On a drive through the Tidal Basin we reminisced about the past festivals we've attended there. So your patch is really just perfect - lovely, lovely job!
Response: My brother used to live in the DC area but I was never able to visit during peak cherry blossom season. I would love to see that! I'm glad you liked the patch. Thanks so much for swapping with me :-)
24Donna rated for NT: Christmas Ornament on Dec 6, 2019
Comment: Thank you! LOVE this ornament! One of my favorite decorations is the tree on a car/truck! Reminds me of when our children was youngsters and we cut down our tree every year, great memories! On the tree already! Also the Christmas card I will be making that cookie recipe! You have blessed me! God bless you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Response: Excellent! I'm so glad I got to send my ornament to you, then. I thought it was a super cute pattern and am glad it will be enjoyed, hopefully for years to come :-) Merry Christmas and God's peace to you and yours.
Comment: WOW!!! I almost don't know what to say, the needle book is gorgeous! The boro & sashiko influence really comes through and every little detail is perfect. Thank you for also sending along the extra fabric to add details, its like a collaborative project! ;) Thank you so much for this wonderful little piece of art, I can't wait to put it to good use and show it off! I would give this swap a million hearts if I could!
Response: Welcome home! I'm glad you're happy with your needlebook and hope you can customize it to match your needs. Sorry I wasn't as smart as I thought I was in doing that for you. :-) Thanks for the nice rating. Happy swapping!

Your attention to detail is impressive, and I loved hearing about your inspiration for the piece. Thank you for a beautiful little treasure. ♥
Response: I'm glad you like it! It looked like nothing but a tangled mess until I added the little house. The process was quite enjoyable! Thanks for participating :-)
mandigutterrose rated for ISS: An Uninvited Guest on Aug 15, 2019
Comment: This was amazing to read, it made me laugh so much! Each new thing was like, "Yeah, I can handle that!" Honestly operatic Metallica would make that drive so much better, I've done it when my husband had an account in Stockton. I get carsick too, the bags are already under the seat! Separate vacations from my family? I don't have to get up and feed all the animals?! WHERE.DO.I.SIGN.UP. Oh, and I'll totally sleep in my son's bed, it's the newest and most comfortable in the house! My husband is the GM of the casino bank, he'll school you all day long to get you in there so he can win your money. It's open 24 hours, I'll get that train ticket money back from you on a roundabout way in no time!!! I'm gonna need a lot of beer for The Shining... I'm familiar with Rancho Bernardo, I got you for sushi and Ben & Jerry's; I've learned edamame is really filling. The Lookout is a fabulous place to see the sunrise over the lake, oh and as for your fresh cream... Well, we have to drive right by the dairy on Corydon to get to and from the casino so consider it done (I'll even get you some of the world's best chocolate milk, 6% fat and worth every calorie). Paddleboats haven't been made available at Launch Pointe yet, but I'd be happy to paddle you around the wetlands in our kayak - the wildlife is beautiful. I have done more Vegas turn arounds than I can think of to go to the airport to pick someone up and send them home - back and forth and back forth. Maybe you can burn a Metallica cd for me for the ride home! Super fun swap, I loved it!!
Response: Oh, man! I made that way too easy on you! Your husband might actually be the only one suffering here! LOL! I do think we would have a lot of fun together. :-) Thanks for doing this with me! I'll be sending your hostess gift next week. Fade to Black . . .

Aww thank you very much for the profile bling, RAIN! And most of all for your kind words. I really need to reteach myself how to add photos and bling on swap-bot. Last time I tried I spent a long time trying to get the sizing right and the images were waaay too big! Frustrated. Thank you again for checking in with me. ❤️

I am so glad you liked the ATC! I really and truly should make a better effort at naming my ATCs. I never seem able to brainstorm a title when I am finished creating, but maybe the key is to extract something from the blather I write about the piece ... 'cause the name you've given it is pretty delightful lol.
