i am a retired graphic illustrator and painter - i was introduced to atc's in the 1990's, but waited until 2017 to join the fun!
at once smitten, i am hooked now. i have always loved to try new mediums, but on a large scale it has always been difficult: before the internet, there was not enough help out there. hello youtube! i absolutely adore finding some new medium, and getting all the help you need on youtube... what a life-saver. i was an art student in the 80s and 90s, and have a pretty broad knowledge of the "classical" arts. the new methods, paints, and all are very exciting to try on a smaller scale!
i have a fair amount of time to devote to these fun projects, and i consider myself to be very conscientious when it comes to being counted on.
i have always been a lover of art history books that feature my favorite artists from the renaissance period to the present.
vintage and antique children's illustrated books - 1930's, 40's, 50's, and i adore illustrations from the 1890's.
fiction that takes me to faraway places/ nonfiction that teaches me new techniques in art/ poetry from any time period/ english romantic novels/ a good mystery/
i am a lover of fine magazines on art and crafts
i have painted in watercolor and acrylics, pastels, colored pencil, and am trying gouache for the first time.
i love to make and collect collage and mixed media and have kept a few journals over the years which have helped keep me going.
i keep drawing and/or painting in my journal, as often as i can.
i love all sorts of paper .. backgrounds are always appreciated.
i collect assemblage jewelry, and love the combination of antique papers, and paints.
vintage or antique ephemera/ marbled paper/gelli prints/ french/paris vintage paper anything advertising from magazines or mail from other countries/ vintage illustrations/ vintage/antique architectural elements: doors, windows, corbels

Hey Marlies! Thanks for the holiday mashup RAK, it's all so sweet and lovely and eases me gently into thinking about the December holiday...The skulls are of course my favorite bits, but the little German angel scrap is quite nostalgic of my childhood with a German mom! The card is so cute too! We are having such a slow start with the winter season, there's still no snow on the ground! But it's all sure to come... Hope you are well, Carroll
Thanks for the fun OMAE paper bomb envelope!! Everything is loved!
Hey Goosey! Yes they are end papers from some very old -rescued from the dump- books I have on my fodder shelves..! really enjoyed pulling this paper bomb together, it was satisfying to be able to fulfill some of your likes! Hugs, bigmamabird

Got the stickers deco today! Thanks so much!
Thank you for the great interactive Buddha ATC tag combo...what a cool way to double the art on such a small surface. My Halloween mail should be making its way to you...I sent it off a few days ago.
Well, your paper bomb must've sensed us talking about it because it was in the mailbox after dinner today. Yay! Nothing got lost. :D Thank you for the cool paper goodies!
