PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure to put what swap it is somewhere on the postcard/envelope/package so that I can make sure to rate you.
I am a poet that cohosts a bi-weekly poetry reading and curates a monthly poetry critique group...I am also a fiber artist and I try to spend a part of each day being creative in some way. I am interested in sooooo many things, but in crafts I do a lot of piecing of quilts, sewing, and crocheting, but now I think I am becoming addicted to paper crafts, especially those devilishly small ATC's...They are wonderfully challenging, and as they are small and can usually get it finished in one session, they aren't overwhelming...
I'm just getting started with ATC's, handmade postcards, and little books, so my efforts are kind of elementary and crude, but I do put my best efforts into it.
I am not working at this time, but most recently was employed for 18 1/2 years as a 911 dispatcher.
I mostly listen to whatever my husband is listening to, i.e., techno and world culture music. Some faves are the Afro Celt Sound System, Phuture Primitive, Bionaut and I have been digging on folky music forever, especially Jonathan Byrd (google him and check him out). If I had to pin it down, it would be CSNY, the Eagles, and Bob Seegar...I know, all from the 70's...
Eclectic and bizarre differences...from Gone With the Wind to Training Day, Terminator movies, Spitfire Grill, Fried Green Tomatoes, Saving Private Ryan, Crash. I like a good, tight story.
Dexter is my favorite right now, but I've started watching that new series True Blood...and most anything historical, forensic, or documentative...Animal Planet keeps me hooked too.
QUILTING, although I like to design and piece better than I like to actually quilt. As far as preferences---my favorite colors are pink, white and green, and style would be cottage chic...anything with hearts, critters of any kind, poetry, and anything quirky, unusual or funny.
I really get into vintage stuff...postcards, fabric, pictures, all kinds of oddments. I am a history nut, so it's a sure bet that if it's got some age to it, I'll appreciate it.
I am very hard to embarrass and definitely lean to bawdy. I am girly, yet into goddess, more spiritual than religious, a country girl who can get along in the city.
I believe that the Universe will steer you to what I want or need. So, send what your gut tells you to, it will find a home with me!
I adore anything with dogs, especially English Bulldogs.
Critters of any kind are always appreciated, GROUNDHOGS will earn you hearts and unending appreciation.
My hubby is a philatelist (postage stamp collector) and many of your envelopes and packages will be scarfed up by him. You can send me stamps (or the whole envelope, that's even better) from your last weeks mail...That'll earn you hearts for sure!...And if you would be interested in sending me the envelopes from a week or month's worth of mail, we can work out an exchange...
If I also like to reuse, repurpose, and recycle...It is quite possible you will receive something that has gone through some sort of metamorphosis, like a sweater which has been felted and made into a needlebook...

Hi there! I'm sending to you for the gigantic photography postcard swap, and I was just reading your profile. I don't happen to have any photos of groundhogs, but if you'd like to do a private groundhog-themed handmade postcard swap at some point in the future (after all the wedding-y stuff is over, of course!), just let me know. I do love a challenge.... Good luck with your wedding!
