PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure to put what swap it is somewhere on the postcard/envelope/package so that I can make sure to rate you.
I am a poet and fiber artist and I try to spend a part of each day being creative in some way. I am interested in sooooo many things, but in crafts I do a lot of piecing of quilts, sewing, and crocheting, but now I think I am becoming addicted to paper crafts, especially those devilishly small ATC's...They are wonderfully challenging, and as they are small and can usually get it finished in one session, they aren't overwhelming...
I live on the Mason-Dixon Line in South Central Pennsylvania with my hubby and two, (yes, count 'em) English Bulldogs, Tess, who is eight years old and very arthritic, and the new dog, Gypsy, who is full of pep and driving us all crazy with her antics...All of the above make me smile at least once a day, and that's something to be thankful for!
I am not working at this time, but most recently was employed for 18 1/2 years as a 911 dispatcher.
I mostly listen to whatever my husband is listening to, i.e., techno and world culture music. Some faves are the Afro Celt Sound System, Phuture Primitive, Bionaut and I have been digging on folky music forever, especially Jonathan Byrd (google him and check him out). If I had to pin it down, it would be CSNY, the Eagles, and Bob Seegar...I know, all from the 70's...
Eclectic and bizarre differences...from Gone With the Wind to Training Day, Terminator movies, Spitfire Grill, Fried Green Tomatoes, Saving Private Ryan, Crash. I like a good, tight story.
True Blood and Dexter are my current faves...most anything historical, forensic, or documentative...Animal Planet keeps me hooked too.
As far as preferences---my favorite colors are pink, white and green, and style would be cottage chic...anything with hearts, critters of any kind, poetry, and anything quirky, unusual or funny.
I really get into vintage stuff...postcards, fabric, pictures, all kinds of oddments. I am a history nut, so it's a sure bet that if it's got some age to it, I'll appreciate it.
I love the number eight (we just got married on 8-8-08), morning glories, night-time (I'm like the stars, I only shine at night!), little birds, buzzards, old cemeteries, and my body being comfortable...That means slip-on shoes, no tight pants, and a satisfied belly!
I am a woman of size, and am happy having entered my crone years...I love my gray hair and my magnifing glasses that I now need to use almost all the time...This growing old thing isn't easy, but I'm liking it!
I am very hard to embarrass and definitely lean to bawdy. I am girly, yet into goddess, more spiritual than religious, a country girl who can get along in the city.
I believe that the Universe will steer you to what I want or need. So, send what your gut tells you to, it will find a home with me!
I adore anything with dogs, especially English Bulldogs.
Critters of any kind are always appreciated, GROUNDHOGS will earn you hearts and unending appreciation.
My hubby is a philatelist (postage stamp collector) and many of your envelopes and packages will be scarfed up by him. You can send me stamps (or the whole envelope, that's even better) from your last weeks mail...That'll earn you hearts for sure!...And if you would be interested in sending me the envelopes from a week or month's worth of mail, we can work out an exchange...
If I also like to reuse, repurpose, and recycle...It is quite possible you will receive something that has gone through some sort of metamorphosis, like a sweater which has been felted and made into a needlebook...

You should look at the passionate poets group. It's fun. :) And... English bulldogs, and groundhogs... I love them! :)
congrats on scoring 600 hearts! Bless you for bringing a smile or moment of joy to so many people! I currently aspire to reach 500 as a personal milestone but I am enjoying the journey in getting there :)
Thank you so much for the booklet of poems you sent me as a RAK, I enjoyed reading them and I especially like "Bitch Control" - just great! I'd really love it if you'd give me some pointers on how to get my own poems published such as you have in magazines and newspapers and such?
I never received your postcard for "view Postcard sent by Registered Airmail SWAP". Have you received my postcard sent by Registered Airmail ?
