I'm 23 and I live in western Colorado, USA. I graduated in May with my BA in English Writing, and I intend to get my teaching certification to teach secondary English classes and continue to pursue my own writing. At the moment I'm working in retail.
The fandoms I enjoy and my favourite characters in each are:
-Harry Potter (Hermione, Snape, Draco) - (also, I'm in Ravenclaw)
-Pirates of the Caribbean (Jack, Will, Norrington, Elizabeth, Barbossa)
-Firefly/Serenity (River, Mal, Simon)
I dress sort of weird; some days I'll wear jeans and a t-shirt, other days I'll wear Victorian-esque lace-up boots, a long velvet skirt, and a ruffled shirt. I also make a lot of the accessories I wear, like belts, purses, and headbands.
I like pretty much every colour and will wear anything but yellow.
In my apartment, each room has a theme. The living room is Asian, red and black and gold. The kitchen is 50s-cute with pink and black, polka-dots, and retro aprons. The bedroom is sort of medieval castle-like with dragons, and brown and gold. The bathroom is Pirates of the Caribbean (focus on Jack) to the max! And the spare room/office/craft room (my half of it, anyway; my husband's half is video games and his movies) is pink and lime green and whatever I'm into at the time spread all over the work table.
If you have any questions about what to send me, or what I'm sending you, feel free to message or email me. And if you see something in my profile that you have in common with me and would like to do a private swap, just let me know!
I knit, sew, fiddle with jewelry-making, embroider, scrapbook, collage, make cards, and do other random crafty things like stencil on t-shirts and paint shelves. If there's an option to send something handmade in a swap I sign up for, you'll probably get that as opposed to store-bought.
I collect/am obsessed with: penguins, pirates, trees, owls and other birds (the cutesy kind), bunnies, coffee mugs, polka-dot anything, antique/retro doo-dads, aprons (especially pink and/or black), old books, Ravenclaw stuff, Pirates of the Caribbean, castle figurines, earrings, chocolate, the Victorian era, the Regency era, the Renaissance era, stationary, pens, coffee, Jane Austen, pretty paper, ribbons, trims, eyeliner, buttons, fantasy (fairies, dragons, magic), notebooks, socks (especially knee socks), apples, pears, and skeleton keys. I also recently got into steampunk, so anything with gears is most welcome!
Please don't send me anything to do with: candles, pagan, body stuff, monkeys, insects, profanity, scented things, sour candy, country decor (chickens, wheelbarrows, etc.), stuffed animals/dolls, or any kind of tea (unless it's black or Earl Grey).
In no particular order:
Mika, David Bowie, Queen, The Beatles, NIN, No Doubt, Michael Buble, Cake, Barenaked Ladies, Fiona Apple, Norah Jones, OK Go
I'll try anything once except rap, jazz, or polka. ;)
Also in no particular order:
Amelie, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd, Enchanted, Memoirs of a Geisha, Labyrinth, Serenity (also Firefly), Fight Club, 300, Love Actually, Closer, Pride and Prejudice (BBC and the new one), Moulin Rouge, Spirited Away, Phantom of the Opera, Marie Antoinette
