I also rate all swaps that I get, so if you haven't received a rating from me, I haven't gotten it. I love to be crafty & take great pride in my work. I work hard to create projects that meet the criteria & spend a lot of time making sure the item is something of good quality and something that I would be thrilled to get. If you get something that isn't up to your standards please let me know & I will do everything I can to make it right.

I have been an avid scrapbooker and card maker for over 25 years. I just started learning how to make junk journals and am excited to absorb all the new techniques and everything about it. I enjoy traveling and exploring other countries and always come home with hundreds of pictures and dozens of postcards from wherever I've been. I am a huge hockey fan & used to have season tickets when I lived in St. Louis. My favorite team is the St. Louis Blues. Go Blues!! I have two adorable French bulldogs that are so cute & fun. We have a great time playing & going on walks & enjoying the outdoors.

I love to read and usually read about 80-100 books a year. I read a lot of fantasy books, but have a wide variety of tastes. Recently I've read a lot of YA fantasy, historical fiction, general fiction, and mystery. I've gone to Comic-Con the last 15 years and have had the pleasure of meeting several of my favorite authors and get my books signed by them. I keep track of all of my books on Goodreads so you're welcome to check out my profile there. I just started trying my hand at junk journals, so I'm pretty excited about that. It's overwhelming, but I'm enjoying myself. The main crafts that I do is scrapbook and make homemade cards and envelopes. I also make homemade postcards from photographs that I take around San Diego and during my travels. I like making photo flip books out of scrapbook paper & clear envelopes, homemade decorative journal books, mini photo albums for friends, & other crafty things like wreaths, gift bags & boxes, baskets, flower vases, etc. I try to do other crafty things, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. :-) I really like using embellishments and decorative paper and special techniques when I do my crafts.

I appreciate everything I get because I know that people put a lot of thought and time into the swaps, so I'm not super picky. That said, I know that it's a lot easier to figure out what to send when a person lists some of their likes and dislikes, so I've taken the time to list a few things to help you with your swaps with me. :-)

LIKES:

Hockey, traveling, dogs, music, tv and movies, books & reading, scrapbooking and card making

Handmade envelopes

Stuff for junk journals, like ephemera, pockets, pouches, tags, foreign stamps, fabric, lace, trim, seam binding, envelopes, etc. I like vintage stuff (but welcome everything) flowers, butterflies, bees, vintage ladies, etc. There is so much cool stuff out there. I want it all!! ha ha ha

I love anything Batman related, but I also like Marvel characters, like Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc

I also like DC heroes Green Arrow, the Flash, Deathstroke, etc.

Star Trek, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Unusual or rare die cuts (I have almost every Stampin' Up punch and die cut so am set there, but something unusual would be awesome)

Stickers of flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, bees

Vintage used or unused postage stamps from the US or other countries

Pressed pennies (especially shiny ones) - usually found in touristy areas (you will get a BIG heart from me if you include one!!)

Patriotic Items from your country (something with your country's flag on it, postcards of your royal family, something commemorating a historic event, etc )

I'm not a huge fan of pastel or fluorescent colors. I tend to use richer and deeper colors. I really like deep, rich shades of red, orange, blue, purple, yellow, brown, green and turquoise. I really like Stampin Up!'s color pallets, so you can't go wrong with that.

POSTCARDS:

Anything Hockey

City skylines, castles, lighthouses, windmills, historic buildings and overhead views of beautiful landscapes(but I do not like multi-view postcards)

TV shows or movies

Art (except modern art)

Animals

Flowers

Butterflies, bees, dragonflies

I also really like postcards that depict characters from fantasy books & movies (think Harry Potter book series, Game of Thrones, Mistborn, Red Rising, wheel of time series, Assassin' Apprentice series, etc. )

Pretty fairies, non-horror monsters, pixies, etc.

I like postcards that are weird, funny, strange or ugly/hokey/corny and leave you a little off-put, or scratching your head thinking "what the heck"? I'm not easily offended at all, so if it's a bit sarcastic, sassy or racy it's ok. I mean, don't send porn for heavens sake, but anything short of that won't make me clutch my pearls or "take to my bed", so it's all good. 😎

EXTRAS: Please don't feel like you need to send me extras. While I appreciate them, please don't feel like you HAVE to send them to me. If you have something on my like list that you'd like to share with me, that's awesome and I appreciate it so much. However, I base my ratings on the quality of the swap that you send me, not on whether you send me extras. So, no pressure to send me extras.

DISLIKES:

I DO NOT LIKE TEA OR COFFEE, so please don't send

I do not want to get any kind of food or candy

Please don't send me any kind of beauty products or jewelry

Please don't send me any paper scraps or paper samples. While I love paper and regularly hoard it, I have so much that I fear I will never use it all.

I don't like stickers, paper, smash cards, etc. that are really young or juvenile looking

I don't like really bright fluorescent colors

I would prefer not to get any free or ad postcards

I do not have children and my nieces and nephews are all adults, so would prefer to not get any children stickers, teacher reward stickers, juvenile stickers, etc. I can't use them, so don't want you to waste them on me. :-)

I have a sensitivity to cigarette smoke, so would appreciate you taking care to not send me anything that smells like cigarette smoke.

The most common style that I use for journals is either vintage or a bit grungy. I like old book pages, especially if they are in a language other than English. I like almost anything Tim Holtz or Edith Holden. I like flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, bees, birds. I like Victorian ladies, and also ladies from the 20s - 50s. I like lace, pretty fabric, trim, dangles, and charms. The typical colors I use are shades of blue, pink, yellow, green, purple. I'm not a huge pastel person, I like deeper, more rich tones. I'm sure whatever you send me will be awesome. Thank you and I look forward to seeing how this journal turns out!
